The latest roofless V12-engined supercar of Ferrari

Unique ONES After some time ago Lamborghini launched the one-off racing-purposed supercar called the Lamborghini Squadra Corse SC18, and it seems Ferrari also did not want to miss. Recently the Maranello-based premium car manufacturer launched their latest creation, named Ferrari SP3JC.

The SP3JC is the latest one-off project from Ferrari which has been officially handed over to its owner namely John Collins, a Scottish collector and former freelance writer. The vehicle designed by the Ferrari Styling Center is an order from a Ferrari collector who wants a pure roadster with a chassis and engine taken from the F12tdf.

This car produced only one unit, and ordered by the one-off series, it will provide the maximum expression of the driving experience with an open-roof car, and at the same time will remind again to the 1950s and 60s V12-engined Ferrari spider car product.

This roofless (obviously) car has a very muscular appearance with dynamic grooves on the sides designed to emphasize the front-engine layout, a typical air intake hole placement on the front, and a dramatic rear fascia with horizontal lines that make it look wider.

The client's love of Pop Art is reflected in the firm graphics, and the unique combination of livery from the Azzurro Met (blue) and Giallo Modena (yellow) above the main Bianco Italia (white) color scheme that confirms the sensual impression of the car.

The sporty theme that is strengthened is seen by the installation of special details such as two-glass inserts on the hood to show off the V12 780cv engine, a link between the fairing of an integrated carbon fiber roll and a brushed aluminum fuel tank cap.
Then on its interior, there is a pair of racing-styled seat made of genuine leather in blue with white inserts. The blue colored leather extends to the bottom of dashboard and is sewn with contrasting colored stitches throughout the interior trim.

Towards the birth of the last petrol-engined sports car of Lotus

Wait.... After some time ago, Lotus Cars had launched officially its first electric-powered hypercar, named Lotus Evija, again the British company will introduce its newest sports car which is projected to be the successor of its previous sports car line ups.

The new sportscar model is named Lotus Emira which is also said to be the last petrol-engined sports car produced by the British company. Previously, this Emira sports car was known by its code name, the Type 131 which was designed to fulfill the Lotus's promise of creating cars that were more useful and better equipped than previous models such as the Evora, Elise and Exige which will be replaced collectively.

As the plan, this Hethel, Norfolk-based automotive company will fully introduce the new sportscar model on July 6, 2021, and will go on sale included to the US (with full federal homologation) in the middle to the end of the year with prices ranging of the US $60,000. Besides confirming the name for the sports car, the British sportscar maker subsequently released a teaser image as well.

Furthermore, the newest Lotus sportscar will only be available in coupe form, as confirmed by Matt Windle, the Lotus's new managing director that there are no plans for a roadster version. Furthermore, he said that the Emira sportscar will come with a choice of either an exclusively offered a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a dual clutch transmission system or a V-6 engine coupled with a choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic torque converter.

The four-cylinder version will produce over 300 horsepower, and produce at least as much as 416-hp of output than the Evora GT, meaning performance overlaps with the two. Furthermore, Matt Windle confirmed, that there will be no hybrid or plug-in variant so Lotus plans to make it as a direct transition to a fully electrified production model. The British manufacturer has not informed yet where the Emira's engine came from, but as insider sources specifically said that is not a Volvo or Geely powertrain unit.
The Emira sports car will retain its aluminum-bonded architecture, although the teaser image clearly shows that the exterior design is inspired by the carbon fiber-made Lotus Evija hypercar. While the cabin will be wider than previous Lotus models, featuring digital instruments and a capacitive touch screen for many control functions. It will also be the first Lotus to have an active safety system, although none require steering intervention.

A dashing supercar-engined Lambo's SUV of the 1980s

Unique ONES Not only Lamborghini Urus, it turns out that the Italian raging-bull logoed manufacturer has ever made a dashing ferocious engined sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the 1980s. Precisely in the 1986, the Sant'Agata, Bolognese based car manufacturer launched the Lamborghini LM002 was successful enough to attract the attention of automotive enthusiasts at the time.

Because the ancestor of the Lamborghini Urus has a radical design than the other 4x4 SUVs at the time. If the other SUVs come with a boxy shape and looks stiff, the Lamborghini LM002 comes with a sporty supercar design.

It can be seen from the many firm lines on the body, as well as the hood which has several air intakes so it has the impression of a fast car. The body is made of a material that is rarely used in SUVs, the Lamborghini LM002 uses a shell made from a combination of fiberglass and aluminum so that its weight can be minimized.

The Lamborghini LM002 is built based on a tubular steel frame with riveted aluminium body panels. The supercar-engined Lambo SUV was then put on the production line and built until 1993 and during its production period only 328 units were ever built.

For information, the name of LM002 is short of the Lamborghini Militaria Version 2. This means that the Lamborghini LM002 is the successor of the 1977 Cheetah prototype, 1981 LM001 and 1982 LMA002 which were only concept cars and not to be produced.

Then move on to the legs, the Lamborghini LM002 relies on a fully independent suspension for the front and rear. But don't ever underestimate the performance of the LM002, because the raging-bull's SUV uses a front-mounted 5,200 cc V12 engine which capable of spraying power up to 444 horsepower.

Not surprisingly, the ferocious-powered V12 engine is the same engine used by the Lamborghini Countach. More insane, when the engine felt not enough? At that time, the manufacturer also provided an option of the Lamborghini L804 7,200 cc V12 engine, which is commonly used by speedboats with a power of 730 hp.
The power generated by the aforementioned engine is then channeled to the all-wheel drive system through a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox which is equipped with a transfer case with a wheel drive option and selecting gear ratios of  High (H) or Low (L).

As quoted of Wikipedia, the dashing SUV known by the nickname of  Rambo Lambo was later built in several versions in addition to the standard version. By near the end of its production period, when Salvatore Diomante, a Turin-based autoshop owner created an one-off "Estate" version for the Sultan of Brunei by closing the rear area and raising the roof meant to significantly add to the interior.

Then there were also 2 units of the LM002 special version called the LM002 Evoluzione is built in 1988 to take part in the Paris Dakar Rally at that time. For these cars (the orange and white colored units), Lamborghini stripped of all unnecessary weight and gave it an upgraded suspension, engine modifications which brought it to 600 PS (441 kW), full roll cage, plexiglas windows and GPS equipment.

Unfortunately, the funding ran out before they could officially be included in the competition, even though one of them had participated in the Rallye des Pharaons in Egypt and the other in Greece. The orange car was developed by the Swiss-based World LM Racing Team.

A compact sized Italian classic sports car powered by a Jap's drivetrain

Unique ONES As usual, We are felt curious when see there's any unique, beautiful or unusual car figure and always want to get to know it more closely, then write it as an article especially for you. The beginning of our encounter with this unique and beautiful car figure was when we visited Pinterest some time ago.

As quoted from CarsThatNeverMadeItetc, the OSCA 2500 GT prototype is bore the OSCA emblem, an old Italian brand that has been dead since 1967 done by the Solbiate Olona-based company named GMP Automobili as a part of the project of the OSCA's brand revived.

Those company founded as a partnership between a former owner of Z Automobili, Luca Zagato  (who was also known the grandson of Ugo Zagato, the founder of the famous Milan-based Carrozzeria Zagato) with a Japanese entrepreneur named Shozo Fujita as financial backing up. Besides that's, reportedly there were many other names involved in the project of the OSCA's brand revived such Mario Colucci (ex-Abarth), Ercole Spada (ex-Zagato designer), Alfieri Maserati II (Ernesto Maserati’s son) and etc.

The sportscar was designed by Ercole Spada and later the bodywork was built by the Touring Superleggera. Then regarding the name, Ercole Spada originally wanted this car to use the 'Dromos' name after the OSCA brand. However, those name had been registered four years earlier by Fiat, then Luca Zagato decided that the car's name was OSCA 2500 GT to avoid conflict with the Italian auto giant. Well, whatever the name, what really matters is that the car comes with an excellent design, showing great care for proportions and style as well as for every detail.

Furthermore, the two-seater compact sports car appears in a distinctive Italian classic style with a length of 4.09 meters, a width of 1.76 meters and a height of only 1.15 meters. As quoted from Wikipedia, this car is said to have some similarities in style to the OSCA made race cars of the 1950s and 1960s. It's can be clearly seen in the design of the faired headlights, a typical design for sports cars of the period. The incredibly low body, combined with the compact overall proportions (even if the overall dimensions are not exaggerated) is reminiscent of Italian sports car made of the 1950s to 1960s.

Continuing to the rear, the tail appears with a raised design especially in the center area, immediately reminding us of the distinctive style of the Carrozzeria Zagato's classic cars. Furthermore, the distinctive style of the Milan-based coachbuilder can also be found on the roof which is decorated with two bulges which are also reminiscent of the legendary car of the 1950s, the Abarth 750 Zagato 'Double Bubble'.

Finally, the glass surfaces are a tribute to the classicism of the car, especially the rear window and the panoramic windscreen. There is also some leeway for modernity, for example in queues, where a large air extractor stands out. 

The compact sports car is built in the 1998 with a tubular steel frame, light but strong, which have had MacPherson strut type front suspension and rear trailing arms and lower triangles. The two axes were then installed with two stabilizer bars. The mid-engined sports car powered by a 2.5 liter four-inlines machine taken of the Subaru Legacy.
Furthermore, the engine is able to delivering a power of 187 hp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 235 Nm at 2,800 rpm, so that it is able to make a 780 kg empty weighted car accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 6 seconds and speeding up to the top speed of nearly 250 kph.

You might look the air purifier on wheels milling around on the streets someday in the future

Concept ONLY Lately, there has been growing a trend of the changes of the fossilI-fueled vehicle technology into the vehicles with renewable energy, in this case electrical energy. It can be seen of the many automotive manufacturers are aggressively developing electric-powered vehicles, even as if these manufacturers are competing to present the most futuristic vehicle designs.

And one of them is an electric motorbike named Aether Electric Motorcycle Concept, the work of a Taiwanese automotive designer named Lin Yu Cheng. As quoted of Visordown, the electric-powered motorbike will be equipped with super sophisticated technology, such as wireless charging technology or in other words, its batteries can be charged wirelessly. Very sophisticated, isn't?

Besides being powered by renewable energy sourced of the electric motor, it turns out that the motorcycle is also carried an eco-friendly technology. Well, according to the designer, the Aether electric-powered motorbike can also clean the air through an air purifier system pinned in it. It's said, that the air purifier functioned to be able to clean carbon monoxide produced by other vehicles in the vicinity.

By those advance device systems, the air entering into the device and then will be expelled as the filtered and clean air, because the motorcycle has massive air intake ducts that channel air into the ceramic filter modules is functioned as an air purifier to trap PM 2.5 micro-particles. Furthermore, those air purifier components also can be cleaned or replaced periodically so that its function continues to run optimally.

Now the actual motorcycle may look like an iron with wheels, but you have to applaud the ingenuity of the idea. As mentioned above, this electric-powered motorcycle concept is also equipped with a wireless charging system that is placed under the motorbike. So, to charge it, no longer needs a cable connecting from the charging slot to the motorcycle. It is also stated to charging the battery takes only 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, this is still a matter of debate because if the motorcyle can be realized, there should be infrastructure that supports all those systems embeded on the motorbike. Because, when parked in an ordinary parking lot, the wireless charging system will not work optimally. So maybe it should be rethought to also embed a conventional battery charging system that still need the cables..
That's very promising future, if someday there are so many such these electric motorbikes with air purifier technology milling around the streets. So it could be made less air pollutants around us. And finally, the question now is whether the technology can be realized in the near future, given that today we live among the urban society with so many pollutants?😣

The missing links between the Jaguar D-type and E-type were found

Missing LINK The Jaguar D-type and its successor the Jaguar E-type are two of the many legendary car models that have been produced by Jaguar, one of the leading British automotive manufacturers. A series of classy achievements have been carved by these models, let's take a look at the achievements of the Jaguar D-type throughout 1955 to 1956 which made the British manufacturer had dominate the 24-Hours Le Mans racing circuit, before withdrawing from the events due to William Lyons, the company's founder wanted to concentrate the company's limited resources on developing a new production sports car.

Even though the factory racing team was absent from the event, the Ecurie Ecosse, a Jaguar's privateer team still managed to bring it back to the podium of the 24-Hours of Le Mans Championship
1957 and at the same time completing as the hattrick achievement for the Jaguar D-type. Reflecting on the aforementioned success, then the Jaguar manufacturer prepared a further racing car model called the Jaguar E-type whose layout is inspired by the D-type and built around a sophisticated semi-monocoque chassis unlike anything else available at the time.

Before the production version of the Jaguar E-type was born, it was known that the British manufacturer had ever built the first experimental prototype in mid-1957 and was known as the Jaguar E1A ('A' stand for Aluminum), because the E1A used an aluminum chassis which was equipped with an independent rear suspension for replaces the Jaguar D-type outdated live axle. The E1A prototype is rarely seen by the public and have been removed at the end of its duties.
The next Jaguar E-type prototype is the Jaguar E2A, it is a scaled up development mule built with the chassis made of steel, not monocoque aluminum as in the E1A. In addition, the E2A also has a steel front subframe to carry the engine and suspension, not the magnesium subframe as installed on the first prototype. 

For dimensions, the Jaguar E2A has the same wheelbase as the production version of the Jaguar E-type, which is 2,438 mm (96-inch). However, the E2A prototype has a 50 mm narrower track at both ends (1,220 mm). Then its front suspensions were via double wishbones, torsion bars and telescopic shocks. At the rear Jaguar fitted half shafts with lower wishbones, twin coil spring/damper units per side and an anti-roll bar. Disc brakes (inboard at the rear), 16 x 6.5-inch alloy wheels and tyres were all supplied by Dunlop.

As the Jaguar E2A's drivetrain, an all-alloy version of the dual overhead camshaft 6 inline Jaguar's engine. As quoted from Supercarnostalgia, with the application of this type of engine, it is stated that the Jaguar can save about 40 kg in weight compared to the previous version. Then the Jaguar XK6 engine is tuned to a compression ratio of 10.0: 1, so it can give off power of 293 bhp at 6,750 rpm and 230 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. Initially the engine was mated to a five-speed experimental gearbox although later it was replaced with a four-speed unit. The E2A prototype is said to be capable of speeding to a top speed of more than 160 mph.

In appearance, the Jaguar E2A is clearly derived from the E1A which is shaped like a stretched Jaguar D-type with a fairly light weight of around 875 kg. The bodywork is made of aluminum with a shape made according to the latest understanding of aerodynamics. The one-piece nose featured closed headlamps, large oval radiator intakes, and a distinct center ridge for cleaning the engine, all of which were later adopted by the production versions of the Jaguar E-type.

The short tail section has an unusual side opening panel that allows access to the rear axle and spare wheels. The entire body is peppered with hundreds of exposed rivets, while the front and rear covers were heavily louvred to assist cooling. To achieve its light weight, it is not surprising then that the interior door panels are drilled likened the exterior, the bare cockpit was home to an abundance of exposed rivets.

Inside, there is a full-width dashboard featuring a large 8000rpm speed counter plus smaller combined pressure/temperature buttons for water, engine oil and axle oil. In the middle there are several switches and on the left there is a closed fuse board. Next, there are two heavily reclined bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl that are placed between the thick sills and the transmission tunnel.

The Jaguar E2E prototype began to assembly in the 1960 and taken out of eight weeks to be completed. Then the car conducted a series of tests mainly at the MIRA proving ground and Lindley air force base. After completation the car was shown to Briggs Cunningham, a big Jaguar's dealer and distributor on the East Coast, United States, during a visit to the Jaguar factory. In short, Briggs Cunningham managed to convince the British manufacturer to bring the Jaguar E2A raced at the 24-Hours Le Mans race event under his racing team.
 
At that time, besides using the Jaguar E2A, he and his team also brought 2 Chevrolet Corvette race cars to compete in the race. In the Le Mans racing event, the car experienced high-speed stability problems and then caused an accident along with another race car in the second qualifying session. At that time the car was successfully repaired and got off at the main race and had a chance to occupy the third position before experiencing technical problems and causing the car's position to drop to tenth position before retreating from the arena. And after Le Mans race ended, the E2A car returned to the Jaguar factory.

Some time later, and still with the Briggs Cunningham's racing team, the Jaguar A2E raced in several prestigious racing events in the United States and was also driven by several legendary racers such as Sir Jack Brabham, Bruce McLaren, Dan Gurney and others. As soon as its racing assignment was over, the Jaguar E2A prototype was sent back to its maker in the UK, repaired, to be changed the color to the British-typical racing green and stored until 1966. At that time the Jaguar E2A was taken part in the famous Jaguar XJ13 secret car project by removing its tail fin and acted as a decoy model  to deflect attention. 
The Jaguar E2A prototype was about to be erased, but saved by Guy Griffiths for his esteemed Jaguar collection. And as part of the purchase agreement, the British manufacturer should be refurbished, and repainted the car with the Cunningham team's livery on white and blue. Originally, the car sold without an engine but Griffiths managed to install a 3.8 liter engine into it.
