Modern reincarnation of the iconic Vespa 98

Whatever is created by humans which then turns into something special is certainly always interesting to talk about. And as the true scooter fans, you know for sure how's the Piaggio's classic scooter named Vespa 98 became something special.
This is a modern reincarnation of the iconic Piaggio Vespa 98 designed by Mightyseed Designs. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2XQVl7p)
Yes, it was the first Piaggio's classic scooter produced based on a wasp-likened scooter design made by Corradino D'Ascanio in 1946. This also marked the birth of a new trend in the means of transportation after the 2nd World War that quickly spread worldwide and continues to reverberate to this day.

Today is Mightyseed Designs, an Indian innovative design company who took a creative-innovative step by doing the reincarnation project of those iconic Vespa 98 scooter figure. This new design named Vespa 98e Concept presents a bolder and modern look, including a wide front with a straight modern handlebar, but still maintaining its iconic original design

And on the single-seater scooter concept is also pinned with several advanced features, such as the rear-mounted Lidar device (as the rearview mirror replacement) is functioned to provide notification to the rider. However, the original design touch of the Vespa 98 is still nicely attached, this can be seen from the LED headlight that stills mounted on the front fender.

What makes this retro-classic Vespa 98 scooter concept even more interesting? Besides it was appearing in a sleek and modern look, it's also equipped with an eco-friendly electric drive. And the scooter's power source coming from a 30Ah lithium-ion battery pack located in its belly.

Even though it is only an imaginary concept, but it does not rule out the possibility to be realized immediately. Now we all have to do is wait for Piaggio or other parties who are interested in making this beautiful retro-classic scooter figure come true. So be it.

In the end, here's a video about the 1946 Piaggio Vespa 98 shown on display at the Museo della Piaggio in Pontedera, Italy. Or perhaps You wanna see other unique scooter concept based of the iconic Vespa 98 called Vespampère.

Did you ever seen the unique custom built of DKW F93?

Maybe not many people have seen the figure of this car before. The following unique car is a car made by a big-names German manufacturer who has a long history in the world's automotive.
1957 DKW F93 custom modified by Günter Braun while in its heyday. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/3c30caQ)
So no wonder if the first time people see it surely they will feel amazed while saying, "Huh, what is it?" In our opinion it is a natural reaction, given it has an unusual shape. This was a restoration result based on the Audi big-names.

As quoted by Autozeitung, the Audi looks as if it has been put together arbitrarily from parts of a wide variety of cars. And therefore no longer fits into any known drawer. The Audi is neither an Auto Union 1000 (it did not have an American-style rear) nor is it the two-seat offshoot Auto Union 1000 SP.

In order to clarify which Audi is, after all, we have to take a big step into the past. It carries us to 1957. The nameplate of this mysterious DKW dates from this time. Incidentally, this name hides a brand of the manufacturer Auto Union (the amalgamation of the four brands Audi, DKW, Horch, and Wanderer.)
Rear-side view of the 1957 DKW F93 custom modified by Günter Braun(Picture from: https://bit.ly/3c30caQ)
Back to the DKW, which left the factory in 1957 with the chassis number 66555613. The special appearance came later. This DKW F93 appeared in a book for the first time as early as 1969, when it was rebuilt, but was still called Auto Union S there. Which is demonstrably not true, as the Auto Union Veterans Club confirmed when asked for by a car media.
1957 DKW F93 custom modified by Günter Braun in the current day(Picture from: https://bit.ly/3gsaAfD)
Well, it is a little bit confusing when looking at its present form. Actually, this car was originally known when starting its life as DKW F93. So it is a DKW 3 = 6 in the version of a two-door sedan, what the "F93" stands for. But even if the basic framework comes from DKW, the DKW F93 is adorned with the 'Braun body'.
The unique front-hood of the 1957 DKW F93 custom modified by Günter Braun(Picture from: https://bit.ly/3gsaAfD)
This, in turn, is an in-house design named after its builder Günter Braun, made up of many different parts from other car brands. Under the hood of the DKW F93 there is no longer the standard engine, but the engine of the younger DKW F102. The 1.2-liter two-stroke three-cylinder engine delivers a good 20 horsepower with 60 HP more than the original engine in the DKW F93.

Other parts of other Auto Union are also found on the DKW F93, for example, the rear lights, indicators, and rear bumper which is taken from the Auto Union SP. This would clearly answer the question of the origin of this Audi, but one of these DKWs still leaves one confused. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTO ZEITUNG | VASK.NZ]

The Legend 480 intended to bring the TVR sportscar big-name

Some time ago word got out in cyberspace, that a British automotive company would launch a new supercar. As quoted from Business Live, that a Belmore Way-based automotive company and also known as the key supplier to Formula One named Mulholland Automotive will launch a supercar called Legend 480.
Mulholland Automotive has designed and developed its own sportscar called the Legend 480. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/3cSZlup)
This supercar is reportedly powered by a V8 engine coupled with a six-speed manually gearbox, as it is well known that this two-seat supercar was designed based on the company's experience for twenty years while working in the world of Formula One racing. And the name of the '480' also refers to the amount of power that can be generated by its engine.

According to Graham Mulholland (the company owner), as one of Europe’s leading advanced component engineering manufacturers, which has become a specialist supplier to most high-profile motor racing teams, along with practically every premium branded niche-vehicle manufacturer
The Legend 480 is named after the amount of horsepower it can generate. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/3cSZlup)
And the presence of Legend 480, however, allows it to showcase technology, expertise, and capabilities to a much larger global audience, plus it allows the company to celebrate the combustion engine before moving to emerge technology, which the company wants to help co-develop.
The Legend 480 is designed and built by Mulholland Group in Derby. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/3cSZlup)
This supercar designed follows the blueprint of the classic British sportscar. Its engine is at the front, it has rear-wheel drive, a manual gearbox, and stylish, sculpted bodywork. This new supercar is intended as a successor to the TVR's big-name, a British sports car brand. And it is not surprising that Mulholland Automotive then used the services of the former head of TVR design, Damian McTagget to sketch and sculpture the Legend 480.

For this supercar carbon fiber chassis and bodywork will be developed by Mulholland Composites using the exact processes developed and used to produce F1 and GT racers alike. Then the car will be built at the Mulholland Group’s state-of-the-art Derby factory.

He further said that the Legend 480 is a truly focused machine with the great design underpinned by superior engineering produced by an incredibly experienced and well-established team. Then the company hopes it will prove popular, but prices are not available until now.

But the company is ready to disclose the price only to interested customers and is ready to start production to then bring the supercar to the owner's garage. Are you interested in having this supercar? *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MULHOLLAND AUTOMOTIVE | BUSINESS LIVE]

The BMW NAZCA supercar series by Italdesign back in the 1990s

One of the most interesting concept cars that never built into reality in the 1990s was an Italdesign's supercar design study series named BMW Nazca.
Three BMW Nazca supercar models were built by Italdesign in the 1990s, from left to right 1992 Nazca C2 Coupe, 1993 Nazca C2 Spider and 1991 BMW Nazca M12(Picture from:  https://bit.ly/3bL414m )
That was the work of Giorgetto Giugiaro from the Italdesain who is also responsible for the building of the BMW M1 in the 1970s. Yes, Giugiaro designed the modern style of the first BMW supercar in 1978, so that the Nazca model series is truly a natural evolution.
The BMW Nazca M12 was the first model built by Italdesign in the BMW Nazca supercar design series and rolled out in 1991. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2AGQ0I6)
Both of these cars together highlight BMW's special characteristics through its twin-kidney grille that is characterized, simple, and also applied the mid-engine layout.
The BMW Nazca C2 Coupe was the second model built by Italdesign in the BMW Nazca supercar design series and rolled out in 1992. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2AK1b2R)
Only three units have been known, starting with the Nazca M12 which was launched in 1991 and followed by a high-core version, the Nazca C2 Coupe in 1992, and the open-top model called the Nazca C2 Spider in 1993, which Italdesign described as "for leisure use. "

The latest news about this supercar series says that there is a BMW Nazca concept car that was sold at dealers in the Czech Republic at a price of around € 725 thousand in 2011.
The BMW Nazca C2 Spider is the third model built by Italdesign, in the BMW Nazca supercar design series, launched in 1993 and described as "for leisure use." (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2AK1b2R )
The car is the Nazca M12, which was launched in 1991 featuring an Alpine-tuned 5.7-liter V12 engine capable of powering up to 379 horsepower coupled with a five-speed transmission system. With its numerous great power, this car can be speeding up to its top speed of 326 kph.
In our minds, the Nazca C2 made a lasting impression for its role, starring in the 'Need for Speed III' racing simulation game. What is the car like? Do you remember? *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | ROADANDTRACK ] | SUPERCARS.NET | MOTOR1

A beautiful Moray built based on the Corvette by ItalDesign

This gorgeous Moray project result presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show on March 4, 2003, embodies the homage that Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro wish to pay to the fifty-year era of the Chevrolet Corvette, the supreme symbol of the American sports car under the name of Italdesign Chevrolet Corvette Moray.

Realized without hesitation on Corvette mechanics and chassis, the outcome of seeking out a sports car designed as an elegant extreme leap into the limelight carrying a pure profile, designed as though touched by drifting tides with long and slender front lights, bringing immediately to the mind the Moray, the English term for the eel-type fish, which found in Mediterranean waters.

Also resembling a moray rippling through sea waters is the sinuous contour line, whilst shaping the elongated front section (an unmistakable look of the Corvette grille) to a far stronger, more accentuated curvature is the serpentine bonnet (which projects frontward) forming a contrast with the upraised cut-off tail.

"We vowed to honor the rhetorical principles that dictated the American muscle-car of excellence era: simplicity and pragmatism, hand lasting with the hedonist concept of sportiness evolving beyond the restraints of time," explain Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro.
The dashboard of the 2003 Italdesign Chevrolet Corvette Moray is fitted with various instruments and a steady steering wheel. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2X7Tmvp)
Hinged to the rear door frame, thereby assuring freedom of access to the inside of the car, the clear crystal semi-dome of the doors (by which the side window and roof merge into one complete unit) swings open like seagull wings.

Quick and simple to remove, these door wings ease the way to transforming the Moray from a coupé, with its unmistakable roof panel under the unique, clear crystal dome, into a quasi roadster. The direct, immediate feeling of fresh-air motoring is enhanced by removing the B door frame.
Look this cozy, elegant, and ergonomic seat also fitted inside the cabin of the 2003 Italdesign Chevrolet Corvette Moray. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2X7Tmvp)
This is replaced by a central arch-shaped steel structure to which the two wings are hinged. In perfect symbiosis with the fresh and free extreme of the car, there are no side-mirrors, which have been replaced by some kind of CCTV system with dashboard-integrated viewers.

The bodyshell and paintwork color blends into the capsule, becoming one and the same. Only those surfaces inside the car touched by the driver or passenger are warmed by soft leather upholstery made with the cooperation of Dräxlmaier Group.

Essential to catering the needs and preferences of the dynamic driver are its dashboards fitted with various instruments. Underlined by the same dashboard layout, assigned to the passenger are precise co-pilot functions.
Cool, sleek and supremely agile, of exceptional beauty and legerdemain like the sea creature from which it takes its name, the Moray is fitted with a powerful Chevrolet Corvette V8 engine, the longitude front-mounted six-liter, which reaches command of more than 400 horsepower, combined with a perfect balance ensured from the ground up by Michelin Pilot sport 335/30 ZR20 rear tires. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | ITALDESIGN] | TOP SPEED | SUPERCARS.NET]

Calà, a Lambo that has never saw the light of day

In the late 1980s and towards the 1990s, Lamborghini was incessantly looking for designs that would replace their old model Jalpa. The aim is to produce cars that have competitive prices and can be produced in larger quantities.

Then in 1989, the design of the car was given the code name Lamborghini P140 was born. A few years later, Bertone's concept car inspired another Italian coachbuilder named ItalDesign to build a new body for the model but with a softer design called the Lamborghini Calà. Yes, Calà was built on the previous Gandini-styled P140 prototype.

Cal Lamborghini (also known as Cal Italdesign) is a concept car designed for Lamborghini by Italdesign. It was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show 1995. It was a fully functional prototype that was never successfully produced. The name comes from the Piedmont dialect in northern Italy and means "look, there!"

Calà was imagined by Italdesign to meet Lamborghini's needs for Jalpa's replacement, which stopped production in 1988 at the request of the then owner of the company, Chrysler. When Chrysler sold Lamborghini to an Indonesian firm, Megatech in 1994😯, Cala's design began to take shape, but when Megatech sold Lamborghini to the Volkswagen Group in 1998, the concept was canceled. Finally, Jalpa is replaced in 2003 by Gallardo that said to use the principles of Calà as inspiration.

Calà is powered by a mid-mounted V10 engine, which produces a maximum power output of 400 PS (294 kW; 395 hp). It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels, with an aluminum chassis and a handmade carbon-fiber body. Just one Calà was ever made and shown as a concept car at the 1995 Geneva International Motor Show😭, and it’s long since been forgotten by just about everyone.
Its exterior appearance is seen borrowing elements from several other Lamborghini iconic production vehicles, such as the headlamps from Miura and the Countach's widescreen. The highest speed is estimated at 291 kph (181 mph), while the acceleration time of 0–97 kph (0–60 mph) is under 5 seconds. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOTRADER]

A gorgeous Diva concept of Alfa Romeo

It is undeniable that many beautiful cars are produced by Alfa Romeo, one of the leading Italian automotive manufacturers that attracts the attention of the world's automotive enthusiasts. You could be remembered the most beautiful car ever made by this manufacturer named Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is known also the most sought classic cars in the world.

And a beautiful car species was re-born by this manufacturer and named Alfa Romeo Diva Concept which was revealed at the 2006 Geneva International Motor Show. This beautiful car was developed in a joint effort between the Fiat Auto’s R&D arm Elasis, the Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile, and Franco Sbarro’s famous Espera automotive design. It was also built to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Espera design school.
2006 Alfa Romeo Diva Concept used a 3.6-liter 'Busso' V6 engine mated with a semi-automatic Selespeed gearbox, which features six forward speeds and a paddle-shift feature mounted on the steering column. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2yrsI89)
The Diva Concept was built on an Alfa Romeo 159 chassis, and beneath that curvaceous body, panels were a heavily modified 159 chassis reinforced with carbon-fiber, suspension, and brake systems that were electronically adjustable and a 3.6-liter 'Busso' V6 engine.
2006 Alfa Romeo Diva Concept had a minimalist interior and good power to weight ratio actually puts it somewhere in the Lotus Elise category(Picture from: https://bit.ly/2yrsI89)
And thanks to a clever new exhaust system and a semi-automatic Selespeed gearbox, which features six forward speeds and a paddle-shift feature mounted on the steering column made the engine developed the power of 290 horsepower and propelled the car from 0–60 mph in five seconds, which said is more than enough for a 1,100 kg weighted car.
2006 Alfa Romeo Diva Concept also featured a clever new exhaust system and made the engine developed a power of 290 horsepower and propelled the car from 0–60 mph in five seconds(Picture from: https://bit.ly/2yrsI89)
While its exterior appearance is brought the typical Alfa Romeo front grille for the nose. The car’s overall look and feel were influenced by the iconic Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale which can be said as the modern presentation of the legendary car.

The car looks nice and purposeful squat, those small but voluminous proportions and the butterfly doors whose windows fold into the roof. Described as having a ‘Formula 1 edge’ when new, the chiseled double-decker front diffuser looks to us a bit like the snout of the Boano-designed Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione of the 1955.
The Alfa Romeo Diva Concept’s lightweight, minimalist interior and good power to weight ratio actually puts it somewhere in the Lotus Elise category. But the boys from Lotus should not worry as the Diva never went into the production line. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | ALFA ROMEO | PAULTAN | CLASSICDRIVER]

The fifth wheel for the parking feature which never became reality

There is a phrase that says 'driving' is easy, but what is difficult is 'parking.' The solution to overcome the complexity of parking turns out to have existed long ago and became one of the 'brilliant' inventions ever, namely the fifth wheel for parking needs.
This 1953 Packard Cavalier is the only car known had the fifth wheel for parking needs. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2KWmJuR)
In general, the car has four wheels, the fifth wheel referred to in the form of additional wheels in the car tail. When the fifth wheel is lowered and touches the asphalt, the car tail is lifted so that it can swing right or left to help in or out of the narrow parking lot, especially parallel parking position. Not just for parking, in this way the car can do one full circle round.
The fifth wheel car system (on the 1953 Packard Cavalier) created by Brooks Walker, an engineer from California, is intended for an ease parking needs. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2KWmJuR)
The mechanism came from the idea of Brooks Walker, an engineer from California in the 1930s. He modified the Packard four-door sedan (allegedly a 1933 production based on number plates in the video) to have a spare tire that could be used to be the fifth tire. Walker obtained his fifth tire patent on December 6, 1938, after six years since the patent was filed in 1932.
As quoted from Oldcarsweekly which explains, in the 1953 through his owned company named Walker Research is known to have succeeded in making the Packard Cavalier have the fifth wheel. The car is equipped with various components such as hydraulic pumps and of course additional tires.

Although it has been found that no one seems to care about Walker's invention. Until now his unique 1953 Packard Cavalier is the only car known had the fifth wheel for parking needs.
Looking under the car at the back of the continental spare while in the 'down' position, the gear at the back of the spare tire can be seen, as can the lifting supports for the car, hydraulic pumps, and belts. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2KWmJuR)
Actually, he was also known to have several cars with similar prototype systems, including the 1959 Ford Station Wagon, 1957 Oldsmobile Station Wagon, and 1951 Cadillac Series Sixty Special. All of the cars had been modified with the fifth wheel that was 'hidden' in the trunk.

In the 1950s, news material from California uploaded to YouTube told of an anonymous inventor who discovered another function of a spare tire on the 1951 Cadillac. The work of the spare tire, which became the fifth wheel said to use the power from a driveshaft.
Then as quoted from Hagerty, Walker ever had brought his inventions to the automotive industry city in the United States, Detroit in the 1950s so that car manufacturers could see. However, the automakers considered the Walker patent, which at that time had a value of $175 was too expensive to be realized into mass production. In addition, there are also problems because of the existence of additional tire features sacrifices car trunk space.

Walker then made improvements by moving the extra tire out of the trunk, precisely on the rear bumper. And how to use it is also easy, just press the button so it can be easily done by women, but this discovery was rejected once again by the automotive manufacturers in Detroit.
The self-parking Packard doesn't look much different than any other 1953 Cavalier sedan, but trained eyes realize, even from this angle, that the continental kit is longer than most. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2KWmJuR)
But, Walker never gave up and continued to try until the late 1970s, he was still developing the system and the last known attempt to use the Saab sedan. But it seems Walker's efforts to gain the attention of the automakers to apply his invention should be ended and failed. Until he died, he never had a chance to realize his dream.😭

Even to this day, many parking assistance systems have ever been created, but strangely none have been adopted by the world's automotive manufacturers for their production car versions, like this one, the Liddiard Wheels. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | OLDCARWEEKLY.COM | HAGERTY.COM]

All-new Bentley fancy no-roof sports car is made only 12 units

Bentley, one of the luxury car manufacturers from the UK has produced a series of luxury cars that can only be owned by millionaires from all over the world. And this year the British manufacturer has launched a limited number of new models called Bentley Mulliner Bacalar.
Bentley Mulliner Bacalar, a limited edition luxury roofless sports car was built by Bentley in collaboration with Mulliner. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2xjhm5O)
This limited edition luxury sports car was built by Bentley in collaboration with one of the world's oldest coachbuilders from England, Mulliner. And it is also mentioned that the Bacalar is the most eccentric car model ever made by Bentley in the last 100 years.

And the name of Bacalar itself is taken from the name of a lake in Mexico. For its exterior design, Bentley's designers took inspiration from an experimental concept car named the Bentley EXP 100 GT Concept which was launched to the public in 2019.
Bentley Mulliner Bacalar took inspiration from an experimental concept car named the Bentley EXP 100 GT Concept. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2xjhm5O)
The exterior appearance, from the front at glance, the LED headlights look a little smaller compared to the EXP 100 GT concept version. This British manufacturer also modifies its shape so that it does not look rigid. Then there is also a radiator grille is installed with smaller dimensions compared to the concept version mentioned above.

The effect of using smaller grille results in the lower airways being presented in a fairly large size. LED Daytime Running Lights to have the same shape as the EXP 100 GT in positioned horizontally and penetrate up to the main light.
Bentley Mulliner Bacalar took inspiration from from the 1920s model of Bentley Birkin. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2xjhm5O)
While on the sides is mounted 4 large rims measuring 22 inches which are then given a three-color accent. According to the British manufacturer, this roofless sports car is positioned as a rival to other British special edition supercars, such as Aston Martin V12 Speedster and McLaren Elva.

Although Bacalar comes with no roof, it has a windshield like a conventional car that can only hold two people. There is nothing special for the door handle, it looks the same as that of the latest generation Continental GT due to it adopts the same alarm system.

For the rear, Mulliner redesigned the rear lights to have a larger size and look more proper. Then the taillights were given a diamond motif detailed. On the back is also given a touch of black that looks very contrast with the car's body color and then with the same treatment carried out also on the front. To make it look more sporty, not to forget to install a pair of the sportscar styled exhausts. While the classic impression is tried to display on the air vents in the A-pillar.
Bentley Mulliner Bacalar uses a 6,000 cc W12 twin-turbo engine coupled with a dual-clutch 8-speed automatic transmission system. (Picture from: https://bit.ly/2xjhm5O)
The inside of this car also looks special, because the design itself is made from scratch by taking inspiration from the 1920s model of Bentley Birkin. Then the car's dashboard is covered with wood and the materials are used also taken from special 5,000 years old trees that have fallen naturally.

For the rear interior, accent on the seat, and the side of the headrest is made of natural wool. This car carpet is quite thick because it is made of genuine wool woven from Wilton. Each seat has a total of 148,199 stitches. Some of the material is wrapped with different materials, such as wood, luxury leather, to titanium anodized on the operating buttons. Interestingly, Bacalar also presents a set of suitcases that have the same motives as car seats.

Then the mechanical heart used by the Bacalar is a 6,000 cc W12 twin-turbo engine coupled with a dual-clutch 8-speed automatic transmission system. And the power that can be spewed by the engine is 650 hp with 900 Nm of torque. Bentley claimed that this fancy convertible was able to accelerate from rest to a speed of 100 kph in only 3.5 seconds. Meanwhile, the maximum speed is 322 kph (200 mph).
As mentioned above, the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar is planned to be made in a limited number of only 12 units worldwide and sold at a price of £1.5 million (about the US. $1.91M or around Rp.30B). Of course, this will make the Bacalar as one of the rarest Bentley cars in the world. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BENTLEY MOTORS | MOTOR1 | FORBES]
