A Peugeot classic bodied three-wheeled custom vehicle

In the 2018, when Peugeot Motorcycle celebrated 120 years of existence by displaying a special model. And the model dedicated to celebrating those special event is the newest French company's three-wheeled vehicle product that is customized in such a way as to have the appearance of a classic product.

As a reminder, Peugeot first made a three-wheeled vehicle in 1889 to be shown off at the Paris Exhibition at the time, although then those vehicle was not manufactured. But later, the vehicle was made and tried to be marketed in 1900.

In order to celebrate the event, Peugeot Motorcycle then presented the figure of the Peugeot Metropolis 120th Anniversary Custom, which was first appeared at the Paris Motor Show 2018.

At the time, the Peugeot Metropolis 120th Anniversary Custom comes with a shiny aluminum body cover with classic and unique front grille designs so that it looks like an old Spanish microcar Biscúter.

Uniquely, the aluminum body is made by hand and takes about 500 hours to work on! Those customization work was carried out by a modification workshop named HH Service, known also as the car custom specialist.

Reportedly now, the Peugeot Metropolis 120th Anniversary Custom has been auctioned by the Artcurial auction house.. As quoted from Artcurial, this unique vehicle sold at a price of €24,700 (or approx Rp.389 million).

A mysterious unique-shaped scooter from the past

It all started when We're surfing the internet and then found a picture of a strange-shaped scooter. We're very curious to know what the name of this scooter.✂️

At first glance, we assumed that the scooter was very rare indeed. And then when we see the scooter closely, it was more likely a scooter with lots of bumps and carrying a toaster. And then, We finally got a little information but it wasn't a complete answer to this mysterious scooter.

As quoted from StabilCar on page 8, this strange-shaped scooter known as 'Proto Delaplace, or Horsy' was a prototype made in 1948 by unfamous French manufacturer Ets Delaplace & Co. which is located at 14rue Constantin, Vitry-sur-Seine (a southeast suburb area about 7.5 km from the center of Paris), France, and the company knew was produced the 'Horsy' moped brand during the 1950s.

As quoted from CyberMotorcycle, the scooter has appeared at the Salon de l'Auto 1952 held in Paris. So far there was not much information that can be extracted about the company. So everything was very mysterious.😢

The next-information obtained was about the engine used by this unique-shaped scooter. It is said that the Proto Delaplace scooter uses an 85cc (assumed two-stroke) Le Poulain engine with a front-wheel-drive system (because the engine is located at the front) combined with a 2-speed transmission system.

To be sure this scooter will provide an unusual driving sensation. Due to the scooter adopted the front wheel drives system, you'll be felt a weird sensation of being pulled by an engine rather than pushed. One could hardly steer the scooter.

A unique three-wheeled vehicle built of the car named Krakatoa

Various unique customized motorcycles and cars on display at the Kustomfest 2019, one of the largest annual automotive events in Indonesia, held on October 5-6, at the Jogja Expo Center, Jogjakarta. And seen many visitors who came to see the event which was held just for two days, ie on Saturday to Sunday.

The strict selection system created by the organizers is intended there're no old works ever come back on display at the following year event. This seems to make the public always curious, what kind of custom vehicles will be presented by the Automotive builders who come from various regions in Indonesia.

Of the many cars and motorbikes appeared at the event, one that made the visitor astonished was the work of a Bandar Lampung-based automotive custom workshop, named Satan Soul Custom. On this year event, Wuriyanto thus the name of the workshop owner brought a three-wheeled vehicle named 'Krakatoa' in a hot rod styled fierce looks. Those vehicle creator said that the vehicle was built from a 1982 Toyota Mark II with 2,000 cc engined.

As quoted from Tempo, the builder also claimed that the three-wheeled vehicle was made in a relatively short time, which is four months and was specifically built to appear at this annual automotive event. Although it was done in a short time, the results were practically good and neat.

The Satan Soul owner whose its works have passed several times during the 2014 and 2017 events, also explained not only once they were built a motorcycle based of a car. Yes, at the Kustomfest 2017 event, the Soul Satan ever displayed a motorcycle based of the Mazda B600 and managed to sold on Rp.60 million after the event end.

And now what about for the Krakatoa three-wheeled vehicle. According to Yanto, thus the owner of Satan Soul is usually called, he intended to sell the Krakatoa at a price of more than Rp.100 million due to the complicated level of workmanship.

The Krakatoa three-wheeled vehicle was built from the front to the rear. Although the gas lever remains in the hand while the clutch and gear are placed on the foot. For the front, this vehicle applies an independent drive taken from the Datsun 3S.

Meanwhile, the connecting handlebar and rear wheels are also given an intermediary. Furthermore, the front shock absorbers use components taken from the Harley Davidson Softtail while for the back of the Daihatsu Hijet 1000.

The most incredible custom motorcycle ever in the 2019

This motorcycle does look a lot different from the custom motorbikes built by motorcycle builders in the world. Yes, the unique-shaped custom motorcycle is called 'The Killer,' which was built by an Australian expatriate who lives in the US named Craig Rodsmith of Rodsmith Motorcycle. The difference can be significantly seen ranging from the motorcycle shaped to its engine.

The making of this unique motorcycle began when Booby Haas of the Dallas-based Haas Moto Museum surfed the internet and found some grainy photos of an art deco-style motorcycle made by a group of German engineers in Munich back in the 1930s.

Then he was inspired to make it, and immediately thought of Craig Rodsmith and contacted him right away. Soon they met to talk about the possibility of making the motorcycle.

As mentioned above, The Killer shape heavily inspired by the 1935 Killinger und Freund Motorrad. You might still remember the figure of the German art-deco styled motorcycle found by US soldiers during the 2nd World War. If forget or not know yet, you can see it in here.

Just like the inspiration source, The Killer was also driven by its front wheel. So it uses 3 identical units of 60cc 2-stroke engines which are arranged in radial configuration and then installed on its 19-inches front wheel. Those engines were built by Rodsmith, himself.

Also, the chassis is handbuilt without the modern benefits of 3D design or CNC machines. And could be said it was 'super insane' level of craftsmanship to make it closely similar to the source of its inspiration. The bike features an integrated amber headlight on the handlebars, and the thin seat also crafted from aluminum materials.

To ensure the front-wheel-drive works, he used a centrifugal clutch that fitted to a sprocket, which in turn connected an axle to which the wheel was bolted. The result is a beautiful fluidity that’s unmatched by another bike ever.

This bike has been fitted with an electric starter, but there are technically three engines which have to be cranked all at once. Hence, Craig built a Bendix drive so the starter would disengage once the engine was running.

According to its creators, it is a very easy-to-drive motorcycle, though with very different sensations than conventional rear-wheel-drive bikes. Craig Rodsmith said, "It’s a weird sensation of being pulled by an engine rather than pushed."

Indeed, We've been heard the Killer motorcycle is a fully functional bike but the project was commissioned mostly as an artwork to be shown off at the museum. A unique giant-sized SUV named Dhabiyan

In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, everything is amazing. After some time ago being a viral news with a row of well-known supercars that were used as the Dubai Police patrol fleets, and then there was a shuttle service for passengers by using the helicopters and many others.

Now one of the members of the United Arab Emirates ruling family named Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan brings another amazement by showing off one of his unique cars. As quoted from the Autoevolution page, on Friday, February 22, 2019, recently his Highness Sheikh Hamad uploaded several pictures of a giant sized vehicle crossing in the middle of the desert on his Instagram account. 

This unique vehicle appeared unusual with 10 main wheels and four spare wheels. At first glance, you would think that this vehicle is one of the robot characters that appear in the Hollywood 's sequel movies 'Transformer.' Especially with its large shaped and sized. No, it's not Transformer robot. Even though the vehicle described as a 'desert ship,' has no equivalent or rival.

He was not kidding to give a parable the one-of-a-kind vehicle his owned, considering that those Dhabiyan named desert ship, was the result of a combination of Oshkosh M1075 military trucks and Jeep Wrangler. For information, that the Oshkosh M1075 is a kind of big-sized truck commonly used by the American troops to transport ballistic missiles.

Given its unusual dimensions, the Sheikh Hamad's desert ship has a length of 10.8 meters, a height of 3.2 meters, a width of 2.5 meters and a weight of approximately 24 tons. Judging from its dimensions, so this vehicle might be worthy to be crowned the biggest SUV in the world.

Furthermore the Dhabiyan uses a six-cylinders 15.2 litres (specifically created for military trucks) water-cooled diesel engine of Caterpillar which capable of producing quite a large amount of power, ie 600 horsepower.

With a bad appearance due to a very long body, and bad suspension. Presumably the track that can be passed by this vehicle was only on the desert. Not to mention fuel consumption which might be a problem for most people.

Special looks of one-of-a-kind Qatari's gold-coated Aventador

Lamborghini Aventador shouldn't always look sporty and powerful. It could also appear with a luxurious and glamour appearance. The following is an example of a modification work that emphasizes the luxury and grandeur applied to the figure of Aventador.

It was a work from a Dubai-based company named Maatouk Design London. As we've been seen on the firm's officially site that describes the company’s line of work as "designing and executing deluxe souvenir antiques and shields for kings, presidents, prime ministers and VIP's that meet all needs for all public and private occasions," but one would never come to think that they're in the business of tuning cars too.

Then who is the owner of those Aventador? The Aventador owner was Mr. Jaber Bin Abdallah Al Hamaidi, a Qatari wealthy businessman. He personally requested to make the look of Aventador he owned to be more luxurious, glamour and ready for showing at the Qatar National Day festivals back in the 2015 ago.

As quoted by Carscoops, in some parts those porcelain-white colored Lamborghini LP700-4 looks coated by 24-carat of gold. Starting from the bumper, accent lines on the hood, and around the front lights.

Not to forget on the sides, also decorated with gold accent lines on the rear view mirror, roof, rear engine cover, and rear bumper. Even the rims and also the 'raging bull' logo are coated with gold to reinforce the supercar's glamorous aura. 

Not only the exterior, the inside of the cabin is also decorated with gold accents. It could be seen on the steering wheel, instrument panel, and center console that makes it becaming a sensational collaboration when blended with the black colored genuine leather layers surrounding it.

This is Rossa, an almost forgotten Ferrari concept car

This is a concept car concept that was created to celebrate Pininfarina's 70th anniversary and also represents Testarossa which represents the Ferrari's iconic model designed by the same Italian famous auto design house, so it was named the Ferrari Pininfarina Rossa.

In addition to paying homage to the past, and also giving sneak previews for the future, for example with the rounded taillights which in a few years later were applied on the Ferrari Enzo.

This inspiring concept car was designed by Ken Okuyama, a well-known automotive designer while he still worked for Pininfarina and the same figure behind the birth of Kode 57 and Kode 0, two unique cars which were first introduced in 2016 and 2018.

As some of our readers have shown, there are some similarities between Kode 57 or k.o 57 and Rossa. The Kode 57 looks more like a futuristic version of the Rossa concept with a sharpened design and more aggressive appearance, thanks to more plump front fascia and a large rear diffuser.

Back to the Pininfarina Rossa concept, which was made purely as a showcar. And this concept car was built by taking the basis of the Ferrari 550 Maranello. And still using the same engine, a naturally aspirated V12 engine with capacity of 5.5-liter and capable of spewing power up to 478 horsepower (362 kilowatts) at 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 419 pound-feet (568 Newton-meters) available from 5,000 rpm. 

All the power is then channeled to the rear wheels through the six-speed manual transmission system and controlled by a gated shifter which immediately reminds us of the Ferrari Testarossa.

Yes, with the same drivetrain as the 550 Maranello, the Rossa concept is almost as fast as the donor car, which is capable of reaching a top speed of about 186 mph (300 kph / 298 km), down by 13 mph (21 kph / 21 km). But unfortunately the prancing horse logoed auto manufacturer did not reveal details about the car acceleration performance from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kph), but likely that this concept has a slower acceleration performance than 550 Maranello which takes around 4.4 seconds.

And this Rossa concept car was first introduced to the public at the Paris Motor Show 2000. Because Rossa is only a concept car and is not intended for mass production, and so the Kode57 spiritual successor cars is planned to be assembled in five examples, and the first model has been sold to the famous American boxer Floyd Mayweather at a pretty fantastic price of $ 2.5 million (Rp.33,087 billion).

Maybe if we now look at for a moment the Rossa, then maybe what comes to mind is the Monza SP2 speedster, a special car similar in philosophy with Pininfarina’s Rossa set to go into limited production. One of rarest cars of Sultan Brunei collection

In its history, Ferrari is one of the Italian premium car manufacturers known to be very fond of creating special products, which are found in the LaFerrari lineage. One of the most extreme cars ever produced by the prancing horse logoed manufacturer is the F50, which were also the last car to actually use a V12 engine taken from a Formula 1 race car as its power source.

This Ferrari F50 was made in limited number, ie as many as 349 units, and was deliberately created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Ferrari in 1995. But among the F50 models there was also a custom-made model made for special customers dubbed as Ferrari F50 Bolide.

As we all knew, Ferrari clientele is full of celebrities, engineers, oligarchs, pop culture faces and, of course, the government officials with an impeccable reputation. One of the Ferrari's special customer is the His Highness Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, is a well-known person not only for his beliefs but also for his impressive car collection. Unofficial sources say that the Sultan's collection consists of 2,500 different vehicles and other says more than 7,000 units. So the exact amount no one knows.

Obviously, the Sultan of Brunei has a hobby to collecting scarce cars. Thus, it is not surprising that he is one of the oldest and most respected Ferrari clients. Some sources assure that he is the one for whom this unique F50 Bolide was created.

When Ferrari officials presented the limited-edition F50 models, company’s reps said that it is Formula 1 race car that can drive on public roads, with headlights that could lighten all the path and with specific amenities like CD player and windscreen wipers.

This expressive Ferrari model with Formula 1 bolides had just one similarity. Ferrari F50 chassis was made out of carbon fibre, and a twelve-cylinder engine had a few ingredients borrowed from Ferrari 641. That is the only way how you can link Ferrari F50 to Formula 1.

When Ferrari decided to stop the F50 model production in 1997 then a year after, the Ferrari F50 Bolide was born from the Maranello-based company. Next to nothing is known about the ultra-secretive Bolide project. However, based on the very few pictures that exist, it appears that the car was completely transformed. In fact, it seems clear that a completely different body shell was fitted to stock F50 internals.

Technically, it did not differ much from his predecessor and donor Ferrari F50. It still had a rear-wheel-drive, thunderous twelve-cylinder engine and 6-speed mechanical gearbox. The biggest changes were visible in the exterior and a little bit in the interior.
The biggest problem was that there is no clearly information from the prancing horse logoed manufacturer itself. Most claims are just speculations. But, looking at F50 Bolide appearance, you can firmly say that the Sultan of Brunei wanted to add his personal Ferrari collection cars with a figure would remind him to a F1 racing car. According to unofficial sources, the estimated cost of this project was around €2,000,000 in the time. 

This car also said became one of the most mysterious cars ever made. Due to nobody ever saw the car running on the highways, or even on displayed on automotive expo. Only several photos on the internet that shown the car was existed. Alas, we'll probably never know. Might be, it will be kept forever in the Sultan of Brunei's garage.
