Porsche introduces the fourth generation all-electric Taycan sports car

New EV On the earlier this year, Porsche, the German automotive manufacturer introduced its latest new electric-powered car model named the Porsche Taycan All Electric Sports Saloon, accompanying existing models such as the Taycan Turbo S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan 4S. In an official releases, the Stuttgart-based automotive company explained that its newest electric-powered car has front-wheel drive and is available in two sizes of battery, namely 300 kW which is capable of spraying power up to 408 PS while the second one 350 kW with power of 476 PS.

It's said, although the Taycan All Electric Sports Saloon has just been introduced, it known has such the cooler features as the Plug & Charge function allowing convenient charging and payments without the need for cards or applications after the charging cable is plugged in. This allows the Taycan to establish encrypted communication with any Plug & Charge compatible charging station. Meanhile the charging process starts automatically then the payments are also processed automatically.

Have You ever heard about this 1967 Agena sports car?

Rare ONES Indeed, in the automotive world, there are many brands were less known to automotive enthusiasts today. One of them is Serenissima, the automotive brand was founded by Count Giovanni Volpi of Venice in the 1960s for his racing team under the full name of Scuderia Serenissima. As is known at first the Count Volpi's racing team using Ferrari-engined racing cars to achieve many victories on the racing circuit at the time.

However, when its founder later funded a new company called ATS which was founded by several former Ferrari employees, so made Enzo Ferrari not pleased and decided not to sell his car anymore to Serenissima. So the company turned to De Tomaso, ATS, and Maserati, and it is also known that Volpi and Serenissima halted its operations in the world's automotive in 1970
.

Besides being involved in the world of racing, Serenissima is also known to have launched several prototype racing cars and one of them ever discussed by us, namely the Serenissima 308V Jet Competizione of the 1965 which unfortunately never had really the chance to shine in the circuits.

This time, we will discuss another car model specifically made for Giovanni Volpi's racing team, which is named Serenissima Agena. The car was originally designed as a mid-engined high-end Grand Tourer, which was relatively new at the time. It is noted only several famous manufacturers have chosen this such engine set-up, and the most prominent is the Lamborghini Miura, which was first presented at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show, shortly after that followed by De Tomaso Mangusta is carried an American engine, but it said not as innovative as the Lambo's car.

The Serenissima Agena is designed by Piero Drogo and built on a boxy structure with tubular front and rear subframes, and is powered by a Massimino Tipo 358 V engine. The drivetrain is a 3.5 liter overhead twin-cam V8 engine coupled with twin-spark ignition plus four Weber DCN14 carburetors, at first glance this layout is identical to the Le Mans spyder. Besides that the two-seater coupé has a fairly light aluminum body made by the Modena-based coachbuilder named Carrozzeria Sports Car.

As stated by the brand's owner, initially on the car installed louver lights, but then the front was modified by mechanics to install four lights. After finishing looking less elegant, the car was then redesigned to perfect its looks. The result, the car is featured with closed headlights, and more matched with lower air intake. While for several occasions the rear spoiler was installed, but it's removed after the event ended.

Inside the cabin, there are two leather covered bucket seats, a gear lever in a solid grille, with dog-leg first gear and a lock for reverse. While on its dashboard you could be found an impressive number of instruments such as a rev counter marked in red at 7,000 rpm, oil temperature and pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, battery charger and voltage gauge, clock and even an air intake temperature gauge.

These aviation-styled dials and gauges are four screw-mounted each, so it giving the dashboard an experimental feel, reinforced by a three-spoke steering wheel mounted with six Allen bolts. The interior is featured with a touch of comfort, also completed with a Becker Grand Prix radio and a Philips cassette player with an eight-track cartridge.

The Agena is only made one unit as it is which is intended as a prototype. Once completed, the Agena was not used much, and is still in pristine condition to this day, apart from the aforementioned bodywork modifications. Amazingly, the car was sold by none other than the marque owner, who was responsible for the car commissioned back in the 1960s.

If you ask how much is the price of this rare car is? As quoted from Auto-Moto, one of the leading auction events in Europe called Artcurial Rétromobile 2019 is priced the Agena car in the price range from €400 to €600 thousands (or approx Rp.6.9 to Rp.10.3 billions). Ferrari is preparing its newest V6 engined hybrid supercar to rival the Artura

Wait...... We all know that the production of the Ferrari V6-engined car species had been discontinued for decades. Recently the prancing horse logoed premium car manufacturer seems to be preparing to reveal the true heir of the Ferrari Dino 246 GT. For now, though, the car still covered by the weird guise and is reportedly will be powered with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain consisting of a six-cylinder engine and electric motors.

In a spy shot, as reported by AutoEvolution, the car covered by a strange-looking camouflage near the Ferrari's headquarter in Maranello, Italy. Well, the figure of the car under the guise was later found to be codenamed Ferrari F171 which at first glance has many similarities in shape to the Ferrari SF90 Stradale such, door-mounted side mirrors, carded windshield and dual-pipe exhausts posed above the plate-number.

The car seems to carry a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 mid-mounted engine and is expected to have a wide 120-degree vee angle to keep the car's center of gravity low. As quoted of MotorTrend, many speculate that Ferrari is preparing a replacement for the Ferrari F8 Tributo by making up names such as the F6 or SF60 and even the new Dino.

However, it seems that the F8 Tributo replacement with a new model will not be carried out by the Maranello-based company in the near future. Considering the F8 itself is still relatively new model, as it was first introduced in 2019 as the 2020 model and known also that the F8 is actually a temporary measure to keep its sibling Ferrari 488 GTB competitive against the McLaren 720S, because both cars have the same engine's power output of 711 hp. So it is natural, if there are parties who link the F171 as the F8 replacement.

By the appearance of the Ferrari's F171 coded car also sparked other speculations. As quoted of Motor Authority, the F171 is not intended as a replacement model for the F8 but a slightly more attainable mid-engine offering to target the recently revealed McLaren Artura, which also features a twin-turbo V-6. Besides that the F171 is also equipped with a single electric motor that helps the engine to drive its rear wheels, again a similar arrangement to the Artura.

Reportedly, that the Ferrari F171's 3.0 liter engine capable to spew the power of 590 horsepower, whereas when combined with the e-motor it allows a total output of 700 horsepower. And if we look at the specifications of its British rival supercar, it wrote that the new Artura's V6 engine could be spit out the power of 577 hp with a combined total power of 671 horsepower. On the paper, it can be seen that the Ferrari F171 is slightly more powerful than Mclaren Artura. 

The F171 coded test car also equipped with yellow painted calipers squeezing carbon fiber discs, the car also exhibits a shorter wheelbase rather than the SF90 Stradale and F8 Tributo. It is developed by the automaker primarily to lower CO2 emissions and Ferrari will keep its F171 weight as low as possible by using the SF90 Stradale's multi-material chassis which combines the carbon fiber with other aluminum-based alloys.

So, the prancing horse logoed car manufacturers given a promise of 20 percent higher bending stiffness and 40 percent higher torsional rigidity than previous mid-engine platforms without the increase in weight. In any case, plug-in hardware will most likely compensate for this weight-saving solution.

After mentioning plug-in hybridization, it's worth noting that Ferrari had previously advertised that its SF90 Stradale species had a driving range only in EV mode of up to 25 kilometers (16 miles). While the McLaren is slightly higher in range at 30 kilometers (19 miles), not to forget that the Artura only uses one electric motor instead of three.
Reportedly for its premiere will be held by Ferrari this September at the 2021 Frankfurt Motor Show. Although there is no official releases yet, it is also rumored that the production version of the F171 will be priced at the same price as the Artura, its British rival supercar in the range of $225,000 before the option in the US. Bristol Fighter is claimed to have fierce performance but powerless in the market

Rare ONES For those of you whose claimed yourself as the true automotive enthusiasts should be familiar with the Bristol Cars, one of the British car manufacturers that has existed since the post-war period, namely 1945 and known for its handmade luxury cars. As qouted of Wikipedia, one of the most phenomenal ever produced by the company in the form of a British-style supercar with the gull-wing-style doors and claimed has fairly ferocious performance called the Bristol Fighter. Here's the all-electric Maserati's radical-looks hypercar inspired by its racing legacy

Concept ONLY Reportedly, the Italian trident-logoed sports car manufacturer, Maserati, after successfully launching its newest supercar, the Maserati MC20 in 2020, will soon enter the world of electric-powered vehicles. And then the manufacturer said that it had started testing an electric drive system that would complement future the Maserati models.

And it is also mentioned that in 2022 the Maserati MC20 will also be powered by three electric motors which are claimed to be able to spew more power. It is also mentioned that there are already another several experimental vehicles that have used the electric motors that applied the latest Maserati's technology which was fully developed in their own laboratory in Modena, Italy. But what if the Modena-based manufacturer dared to present a radical form of an electric-powered supercar. Maybe through the following concept, a famous car and yacht designer named Salvatore Andrea Piccirillo intended to be the answer of that question. Well, in a brilliant way, he poured out a radical design idea of a single-seat electric-powered supercar concept called the Maserati Neptune Concept. Its name is coincidentally a translation for 'Nettuno,' the engine name installed on Maserati MC20 supercar.

Conceptually, the mentioned supercar is not meant to be a rival to the upcoming electric-powered MC20 supercar variant, but rather solely an envisioned with all-electric powered single-seat supercar is inspired by the legendary Maserati 250F race car. As stated by the designer of Maserati Neptune Concept, that the vision is a homage to the legendary Maserati 250F, that has been driven by legends like Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio and Maria Teresa de Filippis (as the first Formula-1 woman driver).

"Maserati Neptune wants to take back the original 250F layout, but with a different shape and proportions. A particular attention to the Maserati's classic race car wore the racing livery number three, that is an important element in the history of Maserati is echoed in some details. There is 3 electric motors, the main one is on the front of the car while the other two are attached on each its rear wheels," Andrea Piccirillo said further.

But according to Autoevolution, the supercar appears with its unusual construction, which features plenty of void space in the middle, this virtual creation looks more like a sculpture than anything else. Nevertheless, the layout owes to the fact that, under the top side of the electric-powered vehicle, we've found a Formula E racecar platform featuring super-sized wheels and arching lines that connect them, this pixel exercise easily stimulates the mind. The engineering is thought to bring Formula E technology into a Granturismo concept, that’s a remarkable element in the history of Maserati. For this reason, Maserati Neptune Concept has an unique driver position, that is like a Formula 1 seat. 

This can be translated as the implementation of the brand's racing DNA taken of the legendary Maserati 250F when it raced on the Formula-1 racetrack in the 1950s, so one can easily imagine the emotions of legendary drivers such Juan Manuel Fangio or Stirling Moss when riding this creation.
