Revealed, Earth ate a Mercury-like body early in its history

In its history, the Earth was once a cannibal, devouring fellow planets. It was revealed in a study of Bernard Wood, a geochemical expert of University of Oxford, that published in the Nature journal this week.

Devouring planet by Earth is now having a positive impact. Earth has a magnetic field into which protects from radiation of the universe. When there is no magnetic field, then the Earth could not possibly support life.

Wood research is motivated by the question of the origin of Earth's magnetic field. The theory that the Earth formed from objects such as asteroids is not quite satisfactory because it can not explain the origins of the Earth's magnetic field.

To have a magnetic field, a planet must contain radioactive elements such as thorium and uranium. The elements that release heat radiation due to the breakdown.

The problem is, to be able to generate a magnetic field, then the element that must remain in the Earth's core. While, uranium and thorium like combine with oxygen so tend to be mild and would be lifted to the surface of the Earth.

"The elements that are very like oxygen and hate metal, so there was no way they could survive in the Earth's core," Wood said as quoted by the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

Wood and his colleagues, Anke Wohlers, then realized that there was a way for the radioactive elements to still be able to survive in the Earth's core. The key, the reduced presence of sulfide compounds, sulfur oxygen loss. And indeed, the compounds exist in the Earth's core.

Wood and Wohlers then conduct experiments with high-pressure laboratory equipment. They see the behavior of thorium, uranium, and other elements called rare elements on reduced sulphide-rich environments.

"And we found something to be proud and strong surprise that the uranium is split in sulfide-rich environment and very poor oxygen content," said Wood.

Experiments also answered questions about why the rare samarium elements located closer to the surface than neodymium. Because, neodymium more quicker to hook the iron than samarium, they can be "drowned".

But where the rich oxides Erth at first getting sulfide compound? Scientists think, it was obtained from a collision between the Earth with planets such as Mercury. It resembles the Mercury in the sense of composition. Own mass allegedly approaching Mars.

The collision made the Earth devoured most of the material from the impactor planet. The mass of impactor planet was equivalent to Mars itself is interesting because scientists have long suspected that the Earth collided with a planet ever sort it.

The collision was also interesting because scientists are of the view that the Moon was created from the collision with a Mars-mass planets similar. If a collision does exist, then the impact is two, the first is giving the Earth's magnetic field and the second is to create the Moon.

Richard Carlson of the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington revealed, further research is needed to truly confirm it. But he said, Wood makes an interesting proof that thorium can indeed join the sulfide in the Earth's core. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | IB TIMES]

What is the Tetrachromacy?

For Concetta Antico, the night sky colored sapphire and violet. A pink rose looks golden and blue sky, while the rocky path looks like a rainbow of colors of orange, yellow, green, blue, and red pale.
A tiny group of people can see ‘invisible’ colours that no-one else can perceive. How do they do it? (Picture from: http://bbc.in/1tvVPJ7)
Antico have "super vision" or Tetrachromacy, a rare genetic condition that makes her able to see nearly 100 million colors. Her vision is extraordinary when compared with normal eyes can only see about 1 million colors.

Super vision is actually not uncommon in animals. Some species of birds chose their partners based on subtle color differences on the coat, while the insect is able to see the color of the reflected wavelengths of interest. It is estimated, this condition can only affect one percent of human. "I see a more nuanced shades and a lot of color in dim light," said Antico.

"If me and you see the leaves, I might see the color magenta on the edge of the leaf or turquoise color in some parts when you just see it as a dark green color. When the lights create a shadow on the wall, I saw the violet color, lavender and turquoise. You may only see shades of gray," she said.

Shortly, Antico see the world in different forms to most people. As a child, a woman who lives in Australia knows that she has a unique perspective. At the age of 7 years old, she painted over works of Cezanne, Van Gogh, and Monet with oil paint.
Comparing Antico’s painting with the original scene could give a hint of the extra shades she is seeing. (Picture from: http://bbc.in/1tvVPJ7)
Currently, she works as a painter and art instructor at San Diego, where she lived with her husband, Jason Pizzinat. Colors that she saw on the flora and fauna in southern California make her color palette wider.

Antico voluntarily willing to volunteer for scientific studies, hoping that the research on her to provide a better understanding of color blindness, which affects to the vision of her 12-year-old daughter.

However, her son wasn't experienced this mutation. Color blindness can be caused by the same genetic mutation, as tetrachromacy. "I want everyone to realize how beautiful this world," she added.

Although Antico increased her visual experience, there is a drawback of this capability, ie the sensor becomes excessive. "When I woke up, I looked out the window for a while because I see all the colors in the outdoors. I saw all the colors in the wood floor when walking to the bathroom. I am aware of all the colors in the toothpaste. As I descended the stairs, a bowl of fruit looked very colorful," she said.

The supermarkets also seems to be a "nightmare" for Antico. There, goods, both vegetables, fruits, and other products look very colorful for her. "It was like an attack by color," she said. Therefore, Antico revealed that her favorite color is white. "(White) is very soothing and peaceful for my eyes." *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BBC | NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC INDONESIA]

Marya said, yogurt is easy to digest and contains a number of nutrients that are good for the body. Nutrients that of the milk is also found in yogurt. "Yogurt is also high in calcium such as milk. The consumption of yogurt twice a day should be able to meet the needs of calcium per day with an average of 1,000 milligrams," said Marya further.

The benefits of yogurt to lower cholesterol levels have been proven in a study conducted in Shiraz, southern Iran in 2010. They examined the consumption of yogurt with probiotics and without probiotics against to 46 respondents aged 20-67 years old. As a result, they were given a probiotic yogurt 300 grams per day was effective at lowering levels of LDL and cholesterol.

This research was done because many people in Iran who suffer from cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol. In addition, regular consumption of yogurt is also believed to prevent high blood pressure and coronary heart disease. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | KOMPAS HEALTH]

Recorded in early 2015 the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers who are very keen to introduce the sport bike up to the super sports, Kawasaki embed the supercharger technology in both its flagship product Kawasaki H2 and H2R. Of course with this technology will make the motorcycles power becomes more powerfull resulting in better performance.

Not only Kawasaki who are introduced the sport bikes with a supercharger technology, there was another Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Suzuki that do not want to be left where they also introduce the future motorcycle concept that carries the latest supercharger device. But unfortunately until now Suzuki motorcycle has not been officially introduced.

Motorcycle that has been holding the supercharger technology is a café racer motorcycle. The café racer motorcycle called 'Lone Star 2' which has an engine capacity of 165 liters with the V4 configuration. It is known that in fact the bike is the basis of Motus Motorcycles sport bike named 2015 Motus MSTR. However the existing fairing on the bike is released resulting in the display of naked bike more inclined to classic style often called as café racer.
Interestingly Motus Motorcyles provide significant change. In addition to pinning supercharged technology device into the bike, some changes were made such as more powerful ECU, changes to lower compression pistons, and exhaust being remade. Thus providing higher performance and produce more vivid appearance.

Not known exactly how much power generated by its engine, but as an estimate is the café racer motorcycle can give a maximum power up to 230 hp or greater than the power of the standard version, which only reached 180 hp.
