Fast MotorBike - In the world of high-end vehicles, speed and style often come hand in hand—but very rarely does a brand known for its luxury sports cars dive into the fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled world of superbikes. That’s what made Aston Martin’s bold leap into the two-wheeled territory all the more exciting. It wasn’t just another attempt at diversification—it was an entirely new frontier for the iconic British automaker. And now, years after its initial debut, that futuristic dream on two wheels, the AMB-001, has finally reached the hands of those lucky enough to own it.

Originally unveiled as a jaw-dropping concept at the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA) in 2019, the AMB-001 was more than just a design experiment. It was a serious performance machine—born from an extraordinary collaboration between Aston Martin and the legendary motorcycle manufacturer, Brough Superior. The partnership resulted in a limited production of just 100 units, making it an ultra-exclusive release that naturally grabbed the attention of collectors and speed enthusiasts alike.

But things didn’t go exactly as planned. When the world came to a grinding halt in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, production of the AMB-001 had to be postponed. Yet instead of seeing it as a setback, both Aston Martin and Brough Superior chose to use the delay wisely. The motorcycle underwent extended testing, ensuring its performance was nothing short of exceptional by the time deliveries were ready. One such moment of fine-tuning even took place on the iconic Pau-Arnos track in France—a fitting location to refine a machine made to thrill.
Fast forward to today, and Aston Martin has officially delivered the first 30 units of the AMB-001 to their new owners. For these select individuals, the long wait has finally paid off. After two years of anticipation, they now have the chance to ride one of the most exclusive and advanced motorcycles ever made by a car manufacturer.

What sets the AMB-001 apart isn’t just its exclusivity or looks—it’s what’s packed inside. This superbike is powered by a 997 cc V-twin engine that’s not only turbocharged but also supercharged, delivering an impressive 183 horsepower. That’s a lot of power for a motorcycle that weighs just 180 kilograms. With a near 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, the AMB-001 is built not just for speed, but for intense, sensory riding. According to Brough Superior’s President, Thierry Henriette, this bike is designed to be felt as much as it is to be ridden—fusing rider instinct with mechanical precision.

Beyond performance, the AMB-001 is an expression of design innovation. Its aggressive yet refined silhouette reflects Aston Martin’s signature style, while the craftsmanship by Brough Superior ensures top-tier engineering and durability. Each unit is a work of art that merges the DNA of luxury sports cars with the raw excitement of track-ready motorcycles.

And for those still hoping to own a piece of this limited-run marvel, the opportunity isn’t entirely lost. With only 30 of the 100 bikes delivered, there are still 70 units left for those who can afford the steep but arguably justifiable price tag—$108,000, or roughly Rp 1.54 billion. At that cost, buyers receive more than just a motorcycle—they get an exclusive experience, one that blends the worlds of racing heritage and luxury automotive excellence.
The AMB-001 is not just a motorcycle. It’s a bold statement from Aston Martin, proving that even a brand steeped in the tradition of four-wheeled excellence can surprise the world with something entirely unexpected. And as this bike finally makes its way onto roads and tracks, it also takes its place in history—as one of the most ambitious, rare, and exhilarating machines ever to wear the Aston Martin badge.

Number ONE Everything in this world must have a beginning, as well as automotive products. Now on this occasion we will discuss a little about the first motorcycle products produced by the famous American motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company.

When you visit the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwauke, United States, the figure of a classic dates to the 1903-04 era motorcycle called Harley DavidsonSerial Number One greets your eyes when entering the lobby.
The classic motorbike mentioned above then, is not the very first mentioned but it is the first true Harley Davidson motorcycle as they were later developed. The company founders built at least one prototype before it and, of course, production machines after it that differed both in the power of the engine and in general configuration.

Meticulous research by HD Archives staff and external experts proved that Harley Davidson Serial Number One was built without fenders and used in competition, probably to illustrate the power and reliability of the motor. After all, as the company name implied, Harley Davidson Motor Company sold motors as well as motorcycles.

Instead, it is the developmental platform from which the first true Harley Davidson street motorcycles emerged. Overall it could be said to be the first Harley Davidson motorcycle was not an intact motorcycle as usual considered ready for production with some improvements so that's appropriate to bear as a street machine.
Its engine is very early, circa 1903, but doesn’t match what experts know about the first engines produced by Harley Davidson. While its frame came of the 1905, not original to this motorcycle. These anomalies have sparked much debate among HD experts and historians.
During the 1990s, the bike’s restorers discovered a number “1” stamped inside various components, inspiring the bike’s nickname. There is not much else known about the Serial Number One, but due to all the questions it’s raised, it’s become one of the Harley Davidson's legendary motorcycle. However, one thing is for sure: This is the oldest Harley Davidson in the world.

Racing Renaissance - While France is often celebrated for its haute couture, fine wines, and romantic cities, it has also quietly contributed remarkable innovations in the world of automotive design. Amidst the wave of industrial ingenuity that swept through Europe in the mid-20th century, one unique gem stood out—not for mass production or luxury, but for its spirit of performance and accessibility.
The Fournier-Marcadier 01 Barquetta is a sports kit car made by the French duo André Marcadier and Marcel Fournier ranging of 1963 to 1966. (Picture from: ForumMarcadier)
That car was the Fournier-Marcadier Barquette, a pioneering sports kit car that brought racing dreams within reach for many French enthusiasts. The story begins in Lyon, where a talented bicycle maker named André Marcadier was crafting lightweight, high-quality bikes that stood out for their inventive design. Known for his attention to detail and structural efficiency, Marcadier's early reputation was built on two wheels. But his passion for speed and engineering soon took him beyond the world of bicycles.

By 1956, he shifted focus to four wheels, designing and constructing a lightweight go-kart chassis that would eventually achieve success on the European endurance racing circuit, particularly in 1961 with the Verd-Dumont-Janoray team.

Marcadier was deeply inspired by Colin Chapman—the visionary behind Lotus—and his revolutionary approach to lightweight racing machines. Fuelled by admiration and a desire to bring similar innovation to France, Marcadier ventured into the automotive arena. He partnered with Marcel Fournier, and their collaboration gave birth to something France had never seen before: its first kit car, the FM 01 Barquette, introduced in 1963.

This compact yet powerful vehicle was a marvel in its time. Under its sleek fiberglass body sat a 1.1-liter inline-four engine sourced from the Renault 8 Gordini. Tuned to deliver up to 89 horsepower and positioned mid-rear for optimal balance, it provided an exhilarating driving experience that echoed the agility of race cars far beyond its price range. Visually and mechanically, the FM 01 Barquette drew comparisons to the Lotus 23—a testament to Marcadier's dream of creating a French alternative to British kit cars.
During the 1980s, Marcadier even had time to launch a futuristic car model called the Marcadier Barzoï 2. (Picture from: MegaNeccForum)
But the Barquette wasn’t just a lookalike. It stood on its own as a favorite among amateur racers and track-day fans who desired a stylish and lightweight car without the financial burden of factory-made performance vehicles. Between its debut in 1963 and the end of its production run in 1966, only 60 units were built—making it both rare and desirable to collectors today.

The 1970s brought change as Marcel Fournier left the partnership, leaving Marcadier to carry the torch alone. But instead of stepping back, Marcadier expanded his lineup with models like the Barzoï Coupé, known for its distinctive gull-wing doors. In the workshop at Mions, a total of about 150 units—including various Barquettes, Barzoï Coupés, and even single-seater race cars in the Formula Renault and Can-Am styles—were handcrafted over the years.

Marcadier
didn’t stop innovating. In the 1980s, he unveiled a futuristic follow-up called the Barzoï 2 and even began producing replicas of icons like the Seven, Cobra, and GT40. His workshop became a beacon for creativity and automotive ambition, all from the heart of Lyon. He continued to influence the French motorsport and kit car scenes until his passing in 2013, at the age of 88.😢
Today, the legacy of the Fournier-Marcadier Barquette lives on not only in the few surviving examples—like the one sold in 2013 for $32,750—but also in the inspiration it continues to offer to car builders and racing fans alike. It stands as a reminder that with passion, partnership, and a bit of bold engineering, even a small French workshop can make motorsport history. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MARCADIER | CLASSICDRIVER | OSENAT | CLASSICCAEWEEKLY | MYSPCARS | ]
