Gordon Murray T.50 supercar with rear-mounted fan

As we all knew, Gordon Murray was the key person behind the birth of the iconic supercar of McLaren F1. And currently, the world's renowned automotive designer is developing the driver-oriented supercar and all carried out through his owned company, the Gordon Murray Automotive. The car is known as the T.50 and claimed to be the lightest supercar ever.
The T.50 Supercar by Gordon Murray Automotive aimed to be "the last and greatest" analog supercar ever built. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/36A8h4x)
And some time ago, Gordon Murray Automotive offered a new look at its T.50 supercar, which was said to be the spiritual successor of the famous McLaren F1 Murray.

The company also outlined details about one of the vehicle's most interesting features, namely the fan system at the rear. Look like the T.50 design is taken inspiration from the Brabham BT46B Formula 1 car with a giant fan at the rear.

This feature offers a massive improvement in terms of aerodynamics. To get the right aerodynamic factor, the automaker has a partnership with the Racing Point Formula One Team to use the rolling-road wind tunnel of their-owned and get assistance from the engineers there.

It is claimed that the 15.75-inch (400 millimeters) sized-fan feature accelerates the airflow as it passes through the rear diffuser. It uses a vertically installed intake duct to prevent the fan from picking up road debris. Then there is also the ventilations which direct the air downward to cool the powertrain oil. For further aerodynamic adjustment, there are two active wings on the back that can bend upward to increase downforce or flatten to reduce drag.

"What we do when the fan fires up, and we want more downforce at lower speeds, is we open the slot and spool the fan up to the maximum, and we remove all the dirty air and the boundary layers, and that means that the air has to follow the surface. It's forced to follow the surface to fill the vacuum left there," Murray said as quoted of Road & Track.
The T.50 Supercar by Gordon Murray Automotive also claimed as the most advanced aerodynamics seen on a road car. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/36A8h4x)
This sophisticated active aero system is operated in various modes. The most hardcore setting is the Vmax Mode which places the duct and fan in a low-drag setting and uses the 48-volt integrated starter-generator to increase engine output to 700 horsepower (522 kilowatts). There is also a high-downforce configuration when the driver wants to stick to the road.

The T.50 supercar packs a Cosworth-built naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V12 that produces 650 hp (485 kW) and 332 pound-feet (450 Newton-meters) of torque. The powerplant can run all the way to 12,100 rpm. The output runs through a six-speed manual to the rear wheels. A carbon-fiber monocoque and body panels keep the weight down to 2,161 pounds (980 kilograms).

The T.50 supercar models being developed by the company include the road-legal and racing-purposed models. And the road-legal supercar model will be limited to 100 units. As for the racing model, only 25 units will be produced. Similar to the McLaren F1, the T.50 will be a three-seater with a central driving position to get the maximum power weight to ratio.
Although there is no exact date regarding the production schedule, currently the company only said that the T.50 will have a full debut in May 2020. While the selling price range is estimated to reach $3.14 million (approx Rp.44.1 billion) for a road-legal model. As for the racing model, it will cost $3.19 million (approx Rp.44.8 billion). The possibility of the Miura appearance if was built back

Lamborghini Miura is one of the most beautiful and exotic cars ever made by Lamborghini in the 20th century. So it's no exaggeration if there are automotive designers who try to design Miura in a contemporary and modern look, in accordance with current conditions. Well, that's what was done by a Brazilian automotive designer named Pedro Ruperto.
A modern interpretation of 2025 Lamborghini Miura by Pedro Ruperto. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2E1rVKg)
From the rendering image, it looks like Ruperto still retains some of the original shapes and gives touches in some of its details. Like the fascia, the Miura bumper looks sharper similar to the current Lamborghini car styles. This is in contrast to the shape of the original car which looks more curved.

There are striking changes that could be seen in the shape of the headlights that originally were rounded. Only in Ruperto's hands, the design of the headlights changed completely by using the thin LEDs. Other changes are also seen by removing mirrors that were on both sides of the car's windshield.

Other changes are also seen by removing mirrors that were on both sides of the car's windshield. Now, the mirrors are replaced by a pair of cameras mounted on a shark fin-shaped parts and mounted on the front wheel arches.

Then the appearance of the side skirt also changes completely with the installation of a new model of air intakes which makes it look more aggressive. However, the front hood still shows the ventilation just like the previous version of Miura and only the models are slightly different.

As we already know that this Lamborghini Miura is a supercar that was designed by Marcello Gandini, and was produced in the period 1966-1972. The Lamborghini Miura was made in a limited number of 764 units worldwide. The following video is about one of the classic Lamborghini Miura that has ever existed.
This raging bull's supercar carried a 3,929 cc naturally aspirated mid-engine and has an ability to spew power reaching 380 horsepower @ 7,850 rpm and torque of 400 Nm @ 5,750 rpm which combined with the 5-speed manual transmission system. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | PEDRO RUPERTO ON BEHANCE | GRANDTOURNATION]

The Chinese-made six-seater EV concept exceeds the Bugatti's aerodynamic factor

The development of electrification vehicles does not only revolve around environmentally friendly power circuit technologies. One of the Chinese automotive manufacturers, the GAC have also begun to consider other factors such as passenger accommodation number up to exterior aerodynamic advantages as the appeal of their cars.

Through its debut at the 2019 Guangzhou Motor Show some time ago, the GAC presented its newest EV concept named GAC ENO.146, which at first glance looked like a futuristic sedan. There's an interesting thing, that the Chinese manufacturer's claiming was related to the passenger capacity number and exterior aerodynamic advantages of the car.

The GAC said its EV concept was designed to be able to accommodate six passengers in its cabin. This seems to deviate from the concept of sedan-type which is generally only prepared to carry four to five people.

The seating layout of the GAC ENO.146 basically uses two lines similar to the sedan cabin layout in general. The difference, the basic concept of the GAC adds to its passenger capacity number done by utilizing its cabin spacious space. One passenger seat faces back behind the first row, while another one is located in the third row.

This concept is offered along with the claim that the EV concept's body design produces an air resistance coefficient of 0.146. By those numbers make the ENO.146 have better aerodynamic levels than the Bugatti Chiron hypercar, with a drag coefficient of 0.35.

The unique number of the car's drag coefficient lies in the exterior appearance, which makes the GAC ENO.146 able to appear aerodynamic. It can be seen from the flat wheel cover model, the gullwing door-type design up to the rear of the vehicle has an impressively long tail. In fact, the GAC also eliminates side glass components to accommodate those car's aerodynamic figures.
Unfortunately, the GAC did not mention the exact target of its EV concept mass-produced for the Chinese market. However, as a whole has a target of placing the electrification technology on all vehicles in the coming 2025. However, its aerodynamic design and large electric motors have the potential to make the GAC ENO.146 break the speed record of the Bugatti Chiron in the future. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CAR DESIGN NEWS]
