The Chinese-made six-seater EV concept exceeds the Bugatti's aerodynamic factor

The development of electrification vehicles does not only revolve around environmentally friendly power circuit technologies. One of the Chinese automotive manufacturers, the GAC have also begun to consider other factors such as passenger accommodation number up to exterior aerodynamic advantages as the appeal of their cars.

Through its debut at the 2019 Guangzhou Motor Show some time ago, the GAC presented its newest EV concept named GAC ENO.146, which at first glance looked like a futuristic sedan. There's an interesting thing, that the Chinese manufacturer's claiming was related to the passenger capacity number and exterior aerodynamic advantages of the car.

The GAC said its EV concept was designed to be able to accommodate six passengers in its cabin. This seems to deviate from the concept of sedan-type which is generally only prepared to carry four to five people.

The seating layout of the GAC ENO.146 basically uses two lines similar to the sedan cabin layout in general. The difference, the basic concept of the GAC adds to its passenger capacity number done by utilizing its cabin spacious space. One passenger seat faces back behind the first row, while another one is located in the third row.

This concept is offered along with the claim that the EV concept's body design produces an air resistance coefficient of 0.146. By those numbers make the ENO.146 have better aerodynamic levels than the Bugatti Chiron hypercar, with a drag coefficient of 0.35.

The unique number of the car's drag coefficient lies in the exterior appearance, which makes the GAC ENO.146 able to appear aerodynamic. It can be seen from the flat wheel cover model, the gullwing door-type design up to the rear of the vehicle has an impressively long tail. In fact, the GAC also eliminates side glass components to accommodate those car's aerodynamic figures.
Unfortunately, the GAC did not mention the exact target of its EV concept mass-produced for the Chinese market. However, as a whole has a target of placing the electrification technology on all vehicles in the coming 2025. However, its aerodynamic design and large electric motors have the potential to make the GAC ENO.146 break the speed record of the Bugatti Chiron in the future. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CAR DESIGN NEWS]

Lambo's V12 Vision Gran Turismo unveiled

Seem the supercar development will continue including by creating supercar concepts to compete in the virtual racing through the GranTurismo game on the PlayStation 5 platform. In this case, there're many world-renowned automotive manufacturers have been participated in those virtual races by making their best virtual car concepts. But frequently after making a virtual version car, then the manufacturer immediately makes it into a real-functioned car, can be driven by and even be produced in limited numbers.

Now Lamborghini seems also interested to take part in enlivening the virtual racing event. This was seen after some time ago the Italian manufacturer displayed a teaser image of its latest supercar mentioned as a supercar was specifically created to take part in that virtual racing event and given the name of Lamborghini V12 Vision Gran Turismo.
The single-seater-influenced Lambo's concept will be only available to drive virtually on Gran Turismo Sport in Spring 2020. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2rpBK1P)
Although, previously from the teaser image that has been released, it could only be seen a picture of a supercar's part that is estimated to be a spoiler and diffuser found on the rear. But then the real supercar figure was shown off by the raging bull logoed automotive manufacturer at an event called the 2019 Gran Turismo Championships World Finals, held on November 24, 2019, in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

According to Lamborghini, the supercar carries Lamborghini's distinctive DNA design and futuristic traits focus on an iconic single centerline and silhouette while emphasizing a single-seater layout, in its virtual form uses the powertrain from Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 which able to spew power up to 807 horsepower.

This virtual supercar has a sophisticated aerodynamic system while integrating performance surfaces and mind-blowing design, this can be seen from a large wing housing a significant Y-taillight dominating the rear (this part had seemed on the teaser image), the main body disconnected from the fenders, then there's a theme inspired by Lamborghini Marzal in the side windows and also the typical Lamborghini Y-signature for both front and rear lights.
Theoretically, the cabin concept allows the driver to enter the car from the front, like the canopy of a jet fighter. All controls come via the unique steering wheel, with all information projected onto the windscreen.

Even when there was a rumor mentioned that the Italian manufacturer will produce this supercar on a limited number later, but it was denied by the manufacturer. Furthermore explicitly, the Italian company says, that the Vision Gran Turismo projects isn't intended to preview any production model, and has been treated as an opportunity for designers to explore future themes. So it's clear, a real-life version won't be built.

The video below shows a row of cars from several world-renowned automotive manufacturers that have been competed virtually on the Gran Turismo Sport through the PlayStation platform in 2016.

McLaren released its newest roadster

Recently, McLaren introduced a new variant of the Ultimate series named the McLaren Elva. The car's name and design were inspired by Mclaren-Elva M1A of the 1960s. Unique is the right word to describe Elva. It is not only without a roof, but also windows, including the windshield.

Even so, passengers and drivers remain protected from wind exposure, thanks to a design that carries the Active Air Management System feature. This feature is able to collect high-pressure air in front of the car, then drain it back past the top of the cabin. The airflow is also regulated as speed increases, by using a deflector at the back which can rise as high as 5.9 inches.
McLaren Elva uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that able to reach 100 kph under three seconds and claimed faster than the track-focused Senna. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2QulQO4)
If it isn't needed, the device is kept neat and level with the hood. The system works automatically, but the driver can turn it off to feel the wind when driving 321 kph. Other sophisticated devices are also embedded, such as large spoilers that can be adjusted height and angle, in order to optimize the aerodynamic balance. As well as being an additional feature to heave the pace at high speeds.
McLaren Elva's dashboard has been designed for a clean ‘pebble-like’ feel, with the only instrument cluster moving with the steering wheel to ensure optimum visibility. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2QulQO4)
Its engine was the latest version of the Mclaren twin-turbo V8 4.0 liter. The configuration can produce peak power up to 815 PS and the highest torque moment of 800 Nm. All thrust is channeled to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gear shifting system.
McLaren Elva's Active Air Management System (AAMS) works as a windshield, forcing oncoming air when the car is going above about 25mph to create a 'bubble of calm' around the driver and passenger. (Picture from: https://dailym.ai/2XpLt3S)
Not yet known what the power-to-weight ratio of this car, but certainly Elva has a lighter weight than the Senna. It even became the lightest Mclaren' street-legal model.

Elva may look like a car that is more concerned with performance than functionality. However, in fact not so. Inside the cabin, there is an infotainment system in the form of an 8-inch touch screen. In addition, there is a compartment room in the back that can be used to store two helmets.
Mclaren's plan is to produce Elva in limited numbers, only 399 units. Prices offered start at $1.69 million or Rp.23,812 billion. The value can increase if consumers want to customize, such as adding a windshield. The McLaren Elva roadster will begin shipping to consumers by the end of 2020. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MCLAREN | DAILYMAIL | AUTOCAR | THE ECONOMIC TIMES]
