The Lightning GT was one of the world's first electric sports cars from England

First ONE In today's modern era, where the trend of electric vehicles is booming, and seem like to invite the players in the automotive industry, no exception ranging from big to small, as they are competing to develop such vehicles that are claimed to be environmentally friendly. And England, as one of the centers of the world's automotive industry, of course, is not left behind in the development of these cars.
The Lightning GT was one of the world's first electric sports cars from England. (Picture from: Supercars.net)
Since this is related to sports cars, you might ask, what is the first sports car from England? As quoted from Supercars.net, the Lightning GT was one of the UK’s first electric sports cars realesed by the Lightning Car Company, a London-based automaker, and unveiled for the first time to public in 2008 at the British International Motor Show

Its story began, when the car firsty developed by the Ronart Cars small team, and built in just nine months based on its internal-combustion V8 engined car at the company's factory in Peterborough, UK, however, due to unforeseen circumstances that caused production to halt. In short, the business and trademark transformed into the Lightning Car Company in 2006.

It thanks to Iain Sanderson, one of the original buyers of the V8-powered Ronart Lightning sports car. It was at this point that a decision was made to relaunch the Lightning with an all-new and ultra-modern electric powertrain. The car is a ground up 100 per cent electric car (EV) with all new components, was initially predicted to be a Tesla' rival.
The Lightning GT started with a design sketch made by Daniel Durrant's DRIVE to be built as an electric-powered car from since the beginning. (Picture from: Supercars.net)
Unlike its then rival, the 1st Generation Tesla Roadster, which was built based on Lotus Elise chassis, the Lightning GT was conceived and built to be an electric-powered car from the outset. Well, this electric car from a British company started with a design sketch made by Daniel Durrant and his agency DRIVE.

Besides that, as a 100 per cent electric vehicle, the British-made sports GT equipped with high-grade Lithium Titanate batteries, which, at the time was an extremely advanced power supply. Performance-wise, the GT boasted from zero to 60 mph (100 kph) time of less than four seconds, with a top speed limited to 155 mph (300 kph).

As quoted from FootManJames, it said only two units of the Lightning GT ever constructed by the British automaker company (one electric, other V8-powered), and the electric variant is currently on display at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
It will serve as a reminder to the world that the electric car market wasn't only led by Elon Musk' Tesla EVs, but also by a British-designed and built fully electric performance car. Well, it's a shame if such car as good as this is just a display without ever making a production version.😉 *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LIGHTNINGGT | WEVEE.UK | BRITISHMOTORMUSEUM | HOTCARS | FOOTMANJAMES | AUTOEXPRESS | SUPERCARS.NET | WIKIPEDIA | ONLYCARSANDCARS ]

Here's an advanced 710 hp electric grand tourer named Audi Grandsphere Concept

NEW Concept Some time ago, as we all know, the German car manufacturer Audi AG. has launched its newest sophisticated car, the Audi Skysphere Concept, and now the Ingolstadt-based automaker once again introduced another concept car called the Audi Grandsphere Concept, which is an electric grand tourer with 710 hp power.
Audi debuts Grandsphere, an electric, self-driving concept car with lounge-like interior. (Picture from: CNN)
If the Audi Skysphere Concept was introduced as a 2-seater convertible with an electric motor powertrain and said to have the ability to drive autonomously up to Level 4 back in August 2021, also known to be the first car in a series of electric-powered concepts that will launched by Audi in the 'sphere' nomenclature.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept comes with Audi's signature hexagonal Grille combined with a hyper futuristic design. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Well, Audi revealed the second 'sphere' concept titled Audi Grandsphere Concept ahead of the IAA Auto Show event held in Munich. This concept car has a 4-passenger and 4-door configuration with a distinctive luxury Grand Tourer silhouette. Just like its sibling, this car is presented to showcase a futuristic look electric-powered car featured with Level 4 autonomous driving technology as well.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept is 5.4 meters long, 2 meters wide and has a wheelbase of 3.2 meters. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
In appearance, Audi calls the Grandsphere a 'street private jet'. And the delineation is seen in the sleek and super long exterior design of this car which even beats the overall length of the Audi A8. The Audi Grandsphere is 5.4 meters long, 2 meters wide and has a wheelbase of 3.2 meters.

Judging by the design of the front fascia which is vaguely similar to current Audi products, this is shown through the distinctive singleframe grille. But other than that, the concept car's design is almost entirely unique.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept appears as an electric-powered 4-door Grand Tourer with a lounge-like interior. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Then the elegant and luxurious sensation is felt through the presence of slender headlamps located above every corner of the grille, hood and short front overhang, and the side profiles combine to form the rear of the fastback style car with thin lights and the red Audi logo.
When you're driving the Audi Grandsphere in Level 4 autonomous driving mode, steering and pedals retract into the body for a completely driverless experience. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Then moving on to the interior, the Audi Grandsphere displays the cabin which is very different from other Audi product lines ever existed before, except for the Audi Skysphere Concept. Well, the Grandsphere welcomes you with an ultra-high-end cabin layout that has driver-only ambient lighting.

This is inseparable from the use of high-end materials such as wood, wool, aluminum and glass that fill the cabin. You won't find a head unit on this car as the MMI infotainment display is projected above the wooden surface of the dashboard, showing things like audio and navigation controls.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept' interior looks as futuristic as a spaceship cabin. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Not only that, this cabin also has a pampering feature with the driver and passenger seat settings also adjusting automatically, depending on the predetermined mode, and the cabin cools or warms according to the desired temperature.

And when you're driving the Grandsphere in Level 4 autonomous driving mode, steering and pedals retract into the body for a completely driverless experience. That allows passengers to take advantage of the refrigerator mounted on the center console, complete with two specially designed glasses and bottles for beverages.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept can cover a distance of 750 kilometers on a single charge. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Regarding the drivetrain, the Audi Grandsphere Concept also uses the Vokswagen Group's PPE (Platform Premium Electric) platform which is also used by the Audi E6 and Q6 E-Tron and the Porsche Macan EV. As we know that this platform includes a 120 kWh battery module, and when combined with two electric motors this will produce up to 710 hp of power with 960 Nm of torque.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept uses a rear-wheel drive system (RWD) and adaptive air suspension settings. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
If translated into acceleration performance, the Grandsphere Concept only takes 4 seconds to accelerate from rest to 100 kph. Furthermore, this car is claimed to be able to cover a distance of 750 kilometers on a single charge, with the ability to add a distance of 300 km in just 10 minutes thanks to the battery's ability to recharge up to 270 kW.

This Audi Grandsphere car uses a rear-wheel drive system (RWD) and adaptive air suspension settings. The suspension can make adjustments in milliseconds to control pitch and body roll. This can be achieved by using a sophisticated front camera to monitor the road surface and make proactive adjustments depending on the conditions ahead.
For now, the Audi Grandsphere is just a concept car, like its sibling Skysphere Concept. However Audi says that these both concepts would be preview the electric cars in the future product range of the Ingolstadt-based automaker. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUDI | CNN | GREENCARREPORTS ]

Lancia introduced its newest PUre and RAdical EV concept

New EVOLUTION After some time ago, Lancia gave the hints that they were working on a new car to expand their model line up. So on April 15, 2023, this Italian automotive brand unveiled its newest concept car which provides an overview of what they call part of their evolutionary process.
The Lancia Pu+Ra HPE (High Performance Electric) appeared in the bluish green colour, with a warm golden tone, pays homage to the historic and timeless Lancia Flaminia Azzurro Vincennes. (Picture from: Lancia)
As we know, Lancia is an automotive brand that once dominated the world of automotive racing back in the 1980s to 1990s, and today the Italian automotive manufacturer is ready to evolve again by launching a new concept car called Lancia Pu+Ra HPE (High Performance Electric). Not only that the bluish green colour, with a warm golden tone, made of liquid metal with latest-generation pigments, pays homage to the historic and timeless Lancia Flaminia Azzurro Vincennes.

As the Pu+Ra name implies, this Lancia's fully electric-powered concept car embodies the principles of the brand's new design language, which is 'Pure' and 'Radical,' where the car' volume is created from the intersection of basic and iconic shapes such as circles and triangles, combined with some eclectic details. So it is not surprising then that the concept car is claimed as an expression of timeless Italian design, with a sustainable and innovative approach that goes beyond the common automotive language.

Furthermore, the automotive's brand under the Stellantis flag also said that its latest concept car is a natural evolution of the Lancia Pu+Ra Zero, as it featuring many features taken from those three-dimensional sculpture launched back in November 2022.
Lancia revealed its new logo and Pu+Ra Zero sculpture as teasing EV design language back in November 2022. (Picture from: Carscoops)
As we can see for more detail on its exterior, the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE concept car adopts a horizontal line that extends from the side to wrap around the rear window. And the automaker states it is reminiscent of the Lancia Beta HPE (High Performance Estate) of the 1970s, coupled with its Venetian-blind inspired structure.

Besides that we can also clearly see that the new concept car is a smallish two-door coupe with the doors flowing into the rear fender with a slight rear flare that appears a bit short. While the front section beyond the A-pillars is still hidden from view, the visible proportions suggest the concept will be quite small in stature.
The Lancia Pu+Ra HPE' interior is the result of a collaboration between Lancia and Cassina expresses full coherence with the brand's new pure and radical design language. (Picture from: AutoDesignMagazine)
Furthermore the rear, it focused by offering a top-down view and featuring a prominent horizontal stripe on the rear window, but further down we can see the round taillights very similar to the Lancia' iconic model Stratos. That's not coincidence, due to Lancia specifically cited the Stratos as an inspiration source not only for the lights, but the short rear deck with a small, sharp lines spoiler are also reminiscent of the legendary model.
Then inspiration from Italian furniture design is evident in the round rugs and front seats, which are inspired by the Maralunga armchair designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina. (Picture from: AutoDesignMagazine)
Well, due to the unique design of the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE, no one would have thought that it was inspired by the world of furniture. As you can see the the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE' interior is the result of a collaboration between Lancia and Cassina expresses full coherence with the brand's new pure and radical design language, thanks to the use of iconic and simple forms that eschew the language of the car.

In fact, the concept reinvents an eclectic space inspired by interior design of a contemporary home atmosphere with flowing architecture that focuses on detail as a form of pure composition as a whole. Then inspiration from Italian furniture design is evident in the round rugs and front seats, which are inspired by the Maralunga armchair designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina.
Lancia specifically cited the Stratos as an inspiration source not only for the lights, includes the short rear deck with a small, sharp lines spoiler. (Picture from: Stellantis)
Unfortunately the technical details have not been disclosed yet by the automaker, but what is clear and certain, it equipped with various advanced technologies, because this fully electric-driven concept car carries the Italian brand's vision in terms of a range of more than 700 km, charging time of more than 10 minutes and energy consumption of less than 10 kWh per 100 km.
The automaker further said that the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE is the first car equipped with the Sound Air Light Augmentation (SALA) virtual interface that we will find on the new Ypsilon. And thanks to SALA, Lancia will be the first Stellantis brand to adopt Chameleon and TAPE (Tailored Predictive Experience) technologies, which centralize audio, climate control and lighting functions, and enable the creation of an in-car environment at the touch of a button or by your voice.
"Today Lancia presents Lancia Pu+Ra HPE, the brand vision for the next 10 years that takes the brand into the era of electric mobility and defines the way we understand and feel the car. Starting with the new Ypsilon, our future best cars will be inspired by Lancia Pu+Ra HPE," said Luca Napolitano, CEO of the Lancia' marque. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LANCIA | STELLANTIS | NETCARSHOW | AUTODESIGNMAGAZINE | CARSCOOPS ]

Pangeos the Terayacht would be the world's largest floating structure ever built

Giant Tortoise Indeed the world is full of surprises, especially from those who have everything. Well, who doesn't know one of the Middle East super-rich countries, Saudi Arabia? Recently, the world's main oil-producing country shook the world by launching its newest mega-project to be built a gigantic cruise ship called Pangeos the Terayacht in collaboration with an Italian design house.
Pangeos the Terayacht is a gigantic cruise ship designed by Pierpaolo Lazzarini through his company Lazzarini Design Studio. (Picture from: Pangeosyacht)
As quoted from Pangeosyacht, the ship is a turtle-shaped terayacht concept which has various luxurious facilities with advanced technology in it. Even though at this point the ship is still just a concept through the hard work of all designers, it is finally starting to become something more than just computer animation.
Pangeos the Terayacht would be 550 meters long and 610 meters wide at the outermost point of its wings. (Picture from: Pangeosyacht)
It was further said that if the project was successful, the cruise ship would be the largest floating structure ever built. So, who designed the concept of the ship? The terayacht idea began to be worked on in 2009 by an Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini through his company Lazzarini Design Studio by making the gigantic cruise ship' blueprints.
Pangeos the Terayacht has a series of luxury facilities for millionares, such as villas, apartments, hotels, including shopping centers, beach clubs, extensive amusement parks, ports for small ships and aircrafts. (Picture from: Pangeosyacht)
It said the terayacht would be 550 meters long and 610 meters wide at the outermost point of its wings. With a wingspan of up to two thousand feet, the ship will be twice the size of the Colosseum building in Rome. If later the Pangeos the Terayacht is successfully built, it is not surprising that this gigantic cruise ship will become the world's largest floating object.

For your information, until now the title of the world's largest cruise ship is still held by the Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas with 362 meters long and 64 meters wide, and the cruise ship was built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

Furthermore, the Pangeos the Terayacht is also said to be an eco-friendly cruise ship with no exhaust emissions because the ship's energy supply will be taken from solar panels which are converted into electric power at a constant speed of 5 knots while sailing. Other energy is also obtained from the power of the waves which will move the ship's wings.
The construction of Pangeos the Terayacht will be carried out at a special shipyard in Saudi Arabia, is estimated to take up to eight years with an estimated cost of around US $ 8 billion. (Picture from: Pangeosyacht)
The world community can also take virtual tours on the Pangeos gigantic cruise ship using the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) digital token. These virtual spaces can be purchased under a collection of NFTs which allow users to collect certain content to access the property with their credentials. Well, if you are interested in becoming potential buyer or leasor one of the properties in the terayacht, please see detailed information at HERE.
Not only that, it is reported that the construction of this terayacht will be carried out at a special shipyard in Saudi Arabia which is estimated to take up to eight years with an estimated cost of around US $ 8 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 125 trillion. And later when finished, Pangeos the Terayacht will soon be used to travel around the world.  *** [EKA | FRO. M VARIOUS SOURCES | PANGEOSYACHT | ]
