Stunning Apollo streamliner bike concept

Not everyone needs an auto show to debut a new concept. A Turkish designer and digital artist named Mehmet Doruk Erdem dropped the BMW Apollo Streamliner Concept into the webisphere on April 2015.

This might look like a disembodied pontoon fender from a sporty 1930’s roadster, but it’s actually a brand new BMW motorcycle concept.

Erdem has designed a wide variety of motorcycles, from café racers to hovercrafts to classic cruisers, but he tends to focus on personal projects that imagine what BMW bikes could look like in a fantasy-fueled world. From here clearly he likes imagining futuristic products (especially bikes) with a splash of retro.

It looks nothing like any bike in the current BMW lineup, but it’s definitely an eye-catcher. Of course this concept comes with its powerful engine and also mixes a sleek futuristic sloping front section that minimizes wind resistance with traditional details like a brown saddle and an exposed engine and rear suspension.

The front of the Apollo makes it obvious why it’s called the Streamliner, as it looks like something that came right out of a wind tunnel. While in the rear is styled much more like a vintage bike. The exposed elements show dual shock rear suspension, a swooping frame, and what looks like a twin engine in a few of the photos (it changes).

The massive shell up front would make turning pretty difficult, but who cares? This thing is just for looks, not function. In my opinion, this is an extraordinary concept. What do you think?

An international researchers team investigating the life span of men and women born between 1800 and 1935 in 13 developed countries to seek the answers. As a result, they found that a very long lifespan in women only appeared recently.
Studies have shown that women outlive men. (Picture from: http://ti.me/XbR9hR)
Prior to 1840, the death rate among men and women are almost identical, but, since 1880 it declined considerably. Diet, vaccinations, and better health care make women the death rate fell by 70% compared to men. Heart disease also seemed to only attack the men, according to the researchers report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The oldest woman in the world who are still alive today is Misao Okawa. This Japanese woman recently celebrated her 117th birthday in March. She also declared the world's oldest woman by Guinness World Records.

Researchers seen, biologically men are more prone to cardiovascular health problems and weight they are likely to uncontrolled acts become one of the causes. The researchers plan to further explore the differences in male and female views of biological, genetic, and lifestyle to get a more complete answer. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LIVESCIENCE]

Pluto larger than expected

The day before New Horizons spacecraft perform historic flight across Pluto, experts announced on Monday, July 13, that NASA spaceprobe has been able to establish the size of Pluto.

Measurements by the spacecraft will cross Pluto indicates that the Pluto radius extends along of 1,185 kilometers, with an error margin of +/- 6 miles (10 km). This is 32 to 48 kilometers greater than previously thought.

Pluto is now officially bigger than Eris, one of hundreds of thousands of mini-planets and comet-like objects circling beyond Neptune in a region called the Kuiper Belt. The discovery of this region in 1992 prompted the official reclassification of Pluto from planet to "dwarf planet.".

Alan Stern, Head of the research team says, this means Pluto has a density lower than previously projected, which could mean Pluto interior contains more ice.

NASA's New Horizons trip along the nearly 5 billion kilometers for 9 years will reach its peak on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 ie reaches a distance of 11,000 kilometers from Pluto. According to NASA, the possibility of failure is only 0.0001%, such as when an spacecraft crashed into outer space debris. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | VOA NEWS]

These 5 Lamborghini concept cars never be produced

Companies like Lamborghini was not born to the business of making the concept car. They make a production of the supercar you can buy.

Some of them (like the Sesto Elemento and Aventador J) were very rare than others, but sooner or later the Lamborghini concept cars were introduced, in the end, they will go into the production line. But not for these five cars, at least for the four concept cars (because Lamborghini Urus is now almost certain to be launch in 2018).

1. Lamborghini Cala Concept
The forerunner to the emergence of the Lamborghini Gallardo is the presence of Cala, a concept that was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 1995. Intended as a replacement for Jalpa, Cala uses the 4.0-liter V10 engine of 400 hp that is placed in the middle and transfer all the power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.

Lamborghini Cala is a fully functional car and had made as many as three units. But the change of ownership of Lamborghini means that the car had never been seen on Lambo's production line to this day. While Gallardo took a different design approach, and Cala can be said to have laid the foundation of its.

2. Lamborghini Raptor Concept
The next concept is not designed by Lamborghini at all but was created by Zagato, an independent design studio. Taking basic of Diablo VT (the first Lambo all-wheel-drive) Zagato Raptor still enjoys some support from the factory, with input from the sled racer from Switzerland, Alain Wicki.

Raptor design incorporated elements from Lamborghini and Zagato, including the double-bubble roof. Powered by a 5.7 liter V12 engine 492 hp of Diablo, Zagato Raptor debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1996, and sold to a private collector in the same place four years later.

3. Lamborghini Miura Concept
One of the most interesting projects is Miura, the retro concept car debut in 2006 or 40 years after the original. Taking basics of Murcielago, Miura Concept is an incredible retro design for Lamborghini as a special car but never intended to be produced.

As said by Lamborghini CEO Stefan Winkelmann "Miura was a celebration of our history, but Lamborghini is about the future."

4. Lamborghini Estoque Concept
After producing middle-engined supercar is almost exclusively for the last few decades, Lamborghini shocked crowds gathered at the Paris Motor Show in 2008 when the unmasking of the Estoque Concept.

Instead of a two-door, four-door Estoque packed in, the machine is placed in front. In other words, the car has the same basic layout as most other cars, but with a sense of Lambo. Estoque Concept was as if intended to gauge public reaction on the potential production version of the Estoque, but five years later, none of which ever made.

5. Lamborghini Urus Concept
If Estoque is a surprise, the debut of Urus even more than that, a Lamborghini SUV ?. Mind debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April, Urus Concept stands out as the car is more curvy and muscular on the same architecture that supports the Porsche Cayenne and Bentley EXP 9 F Concept.

While Estoque sink, Urus still trying to survive because of the current Lamborghini still lobbying its parent company, Volkswagen for giving the green light for production. As you can see the result today, the Urus has found the way to be presented as one of Lamborghini's products. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MODIFIKASI.COM]

What are the Mysterious Spots in Pluto's equator?

When snaps on Pluto from a distance, a spacecraft belonging to the National Aeronautics and Space Administrasion (NASA), the New Horizon reveal amazing phenomenon in those dwarf planet. When the spacecraft pointing its camera and taking images of Pluto, New Horizon find a large dark region near Pluto's equator, dubbed "the whale", and a roughly heart-shaped bright area spanning 2,000 km.

What are those mysterious spots actually? Until now, scientists have not been able to answer it. New Horizon will reveal once successfully passed one of the farthest object in the solar system. New Horizon will arrive at Pluto's orbit on July 14, 2015. When it arrived, the vehicle was launched in 2006 it will be moving at a very fast speed ie 14 kilometers per second.

The spacecraft will photograph and take in as much data environment while exploring Pluto and its moons. "We'll get the 500 times better picture on next Tuesday when we passed in the shortest distance," said John Spencer of the Southwest Research Institute in Colorado involved New Horizon mission as quoted by the BBC on Thursday, July 9, 2015.

By shooting at closer distances later, may those mysterious spots puzzle in the Pluto that newly photographed is resolved. Currently, the best photo of Pluto with those mysterious spots was blur. Let's wait until the New Horizon at its closest distance to Pluto, which is 12,500 kilometers from the surface. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BBC]
