Hot Wheels X-Wing Fighter Carship Debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2016

Galactic Motorsport - When fans gather at pop culture conventions, they usually expect superheroes, cosplayers, and exclusive collectibles. But back in 2016, San Diego Comic-Con gave visitors something far more unusual—a life-sized car that looked like it had driven straight out of a galaxy far, far away. Mattel’s Hot Wheels division, already famous for pushing creativity in diecast cars, surprised the crowd with their bold take on one of Star Wars’ most legendary spacecraft: the X-Wing Fighter.

This wasn’t just a static display or a flashy shell for photos. The X-Wing Fighter Carship was engineered like a real race car, blending sci-fi imagination with motorsport precision. Beneath its striking fuselage-inspired body sat the heart of a racer: a 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC engine

With jet-style intakes and custom racing slicks, the car could reach an impressive top speed of around 288 km/h (180 mph). AP Racing dual-piston caliper brakes and hollow rotors gave it the stopping power needed to balance its aggressive performance, proving that the car was designed for more than just standing still on a show floor.

Visually, the vehicle stayed true to the essence of the Star Wars starship while adapting it into a drivable form. Instead of all four signature S-foils, the Carship carried two shortened wings permanently locked in attack position, a nod to the ship’s battle stance.
The X-Wing Fighter Carship cleverly disguised its open-wheel racer base beneath a fuselage-shaped body, with a top-hinged canopy enhancing its futuristic feel. (Picture from: Motortrend)
The open-wheel racer base was cleverly disguised under a body shaped to mimic the fighter’s fuselage, while the cockpit featured a top-hinged canopy that added to its futuristic feel. It looked less like a movie prop and more like a machine ready to tear up a racetrack, even if it couldn’t actually join the Rebel fleet against the Death Star.😃
Of course, this wasn’t just a one-off spectacle. Mattel, always thinking of collectors, followed up the Comic-Con showcase by releasing a 1:64 scale diecast version later in 2016. With both the Rebel Alliance emblem and the iconic Hot Wheels logo stamped on it, the miniature became one of the fastest and most memorable additions to the brand’s orange track lineup. Fans who couldn’t see the full-sized car in person at Comic-Con could still take home a piece of that excitement in miniature form.
Nearly a decade later, the X-Wing Fighter Carship still stands out as one of Hot Wheels’ most daring crossovers. It proved that imagination has no boundaries when car culture and pop culture collide, and it left fans with a reminder that even a toy brand can build something that feels larger than life. The project may have started as a tribute to Star Wars, but it ended up becoming its own legend among Hot Wheels*** [EKA [05082016] | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOGUIDE | MOTORTRENDS ]

The world's biggest plane is set to take off early next year in its first ever test flight. The aircraft, named the Stratolaunch Carrier, is currently under construction at Mojave Air and Spaceport in California, and will eventually have a a wingspan of 385 feet (117 m). (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1crcNI)
With the giant wingspan of 117 m and six engines, the aircraft is taking a new approach in this private space race, with the launch of satellites and spacecraft into orbit from a height. The aircraft will be bigger than the Howard Hughes' H-4 Hercules made in 1947, and an Antonov An-225 Soviet era cargo plane as the current world's largest aircraft.
The idea is for the Stratolaunch Carrier is to act as a giant air pad in the sky, allowing payloads to reach space faster and at a lower cost than existing technologies. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1crcNI)
Stratolaunch Systems is part of Vulcan Aerospace company owned by Paul Allen, cofounder of Microsoft. The company's vision is different from Elon Musk's SpaceX, Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin, and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic.
Reporters got their first look at the Stratolaunch plane, which is currently being constructed at a hanger in the US. The private behind the venture say construction of the plane is 76 per cent complete. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1crcNI)
Stratolaunch Systems is the ability to position the giant plane so that the satellite can be directly delivered to a very precise orbit and do it quickly, without problems scheduling a variety of launch and weather related delays, as explained by Chuck Beames, whose oversees the space business of Paul Allen as quoted of the Daily Mail on Monday, June 20, 2016.

Instead as satellites, the Stratolaunch aircraft could launch Dream Chaser spacecraft. It can act as a mini-shuttle to achieve the goal of low-Earth orbit and carry back the astronauts or cargo to the runway in 24 hours.

Another cool supercar concept

There are concept cars, and then there are concept supercars. It is pretty clear from looking at some of the images associated with Logitta Concept Car that this is the kind of thing that belongs in the second category. However, pictures do not tell the whole story. Learn more about this concept vehicle, and you are bound to be extremely impressed with what you ultimately discover.

Nonetheless, if you want to see something that goes above what the companies are presenting, then take a look at what the Logitta Concept Car brings to the table. It’s hard not to see this as a concept car design that definitely has something singular to bring to the table.

Designed by Dr. Hussein Al Jammazi, the Logitta Concept Car is an extremely impressive looking piece of form and function coming together in the best way possible. The 6.3 L turbine engine brings more than 700 hp to the streets. If you think that the overall exterior of the car concept is something that took a cue or two from a fighter jet, you’re not alone. That was definitely something that Dr. Jammazi had in mind, over the course of putting his supercar design together.
