"The birth of these calves shows the rhino population in Ujung Kulon National Park (Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon) still gives hope for the survival of endangered species," said Moh. Haryono, Head of Ujung Kulon National Park Authority on Monday, September 7, 2015 in Jakarta.
  • The first rhino calf (female) recorded by hidden video camera for the first time on April 9, 2015 at 17:29 in Citengah Block (east Ujung Kulon). The calf with her mother named Desy which known in 2012 have a male calf named Arjuna. Throughout 2014, Desy recorded always alone. The last recorded on August 13, 2014 at 19:22 in Cigenter Block encountered in conditions of allegedly big belly is pregnant.

There are two issues related to the future of the Javan rhino, the larger ratio of males and vulnerable natural habitats affected by the eruption of Krakatoa Mountain and minimal supply of feed.

Previously there discourse of Hadi Alikodra, a professor of Wildlife Ecology at Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), who recommended the Nature Reserve Cikepuh (Cagar Alam Cikepuh) in Sukabumi, West Java, as the next habitat of Javan rhino. One of the main requirements of Rhino habitat is the availability of natural feed (Kompas, October 1, 2014). *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | KOMPAS SAINS]

Water-fueled Motorcycle from Brazil

The high level of pollution spur some people to innovate to create a variety of tools that pollution is not getting worse. As performed by a guy from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ricardo Azevedo with innovative use of fuel for his motorcycle. Azevedo is no longer used to make gasoline for his motorcycle, but he chose water as the primary fuel.
The 'T Power H20’ motorcycle was created by Sao Paulo-based public officer Ricardo Azevedo. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1g6G0rh)
The motorcycle innovation named 'T Power H2O' that can go up to 500 kilometers (310 miles) with only 1 liter of water. In fact, not only the clean water that can be used. But also polluted waste water is used by Azevedo as an example. With the waste water from the Tiete River, Azevedo prove these findings.
The design features a combination of water and an external car battery, which is used to produce electricity and separate the hydrogen from the water molecule. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1g6G0rh)
The T Power H2O motorcycle incorporates an external car battery that produces electricity and separates hydrogen from water molecules. This results in combustion, releasing energy that fuels the bike. "The advantage of this motorcycle, which works with the hydrogen that comes from the water, is that the result that comes of the exhaust is water vapor," Azevedo explains. "This is different from gasoline, the result of which is carbon monoxide."
The motorcycle can even run on polluted water, which Mr Azevedo demonstrates by filling up from the Tiete River. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1JHE8x1)
This innovation could bring doubts of some observers who say that the bike has been modified first. However, a chemistry professor from the University of Sao Paulo, Ernesto Gonzales explained, what Azevedo was the discovery that makes sense. Water passing through the engine with the help of batteries that produce combustion, would not be a problem with the engine.
Even Azevedo had contact with the motor manufacturer to test and he'll be ready to explain the workings of the motorcycle of the results of innovation. He hopes there is a motorcycle manufacturer who would produce it en masse. That's cool innovation isn't!

Scientists found the traces of rare dinosaur

A team of German scientists discovered an unusual footprints of dinosaurs weighing 30 tons were estimated age of 145 million years at an abandoned quarry in central German region of Lower Saxony.
Scientists say that the these footprints could have been made something between 135 and 145 million years ago by a sauropod. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1EJPF36)
"Very unusual length of the trail and are in very good condition," said excavation leader Benjamin Englich told Reuters at the excavation site refers to the 90 footprints with a length of 50 meters and the center of 1.2 meters unbroken line.

Englich and his team found the trail in the central part of Germany while doing excavations in the area of the former mine in the city Rehburg-Loccum near Hanover on Wednesday.

He said the footprints track similar the elephant trails was estimated sauropods trace (the dinosaurs weight class with the long of neck and tail) from 135 to 145 million years ago.

"We do not have this big dinosaur frame intact from that period," said Englich.

"That is, this species has not been seen before it," he added.

He said traces of prehistoric was not only large, but also has an unusual depth. The trail deep as 40 centimeters on the ground, suggesting that the former creature weighing up to 30 tons.
Experts hope the trail could help shed light on conditions in the Cretaceous period, the mysterious era which ended 65 million years ago with the mass extinction of dinosaurs. The biggest dinosaur prints ever found, measuring up to two metres in diamater, were discovered by amateur diggers in the French Jura region in 2009. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | REUTERS]

Pluto possibility of saving lives under the surface

Pluto may save the life beneath its surface. Physicists from the University of Manchester, Brian Cox, said that based on the observation New Horizon spacecraft passing near the dwarf planet last month.

Cox said information about Pluto that had been sent to Earth has given great hope Pluto is capable of supporting life. Pluto's surface is rich in mountains of ice, it is impossible for life to be there. But under the surface may keep the ocean warm enough for a flourishing life.
This artist's impression of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft encountering Pluto and its largest moon, Charon, is seen in a NASA image from July 2015. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1RvzXhj)
Cox says, "New Horizon" shows you possible ocean beneath the surface of Pluto, which means, if our understanding of life on Earth right, you can see the life there (Pluto).

Until now, not much is understood about the object to be kicked out of his position as a planet in 2006. Overall the data obtained from the New Horizon, only 5 percent are sent to Earth.
The image of an area near the Pluto's equator, revealing a surprise; The young mountain range as high as 3,500 meters above the surface of the ice body. Mountains probably formed no more than 100 million years ago. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1KLSdOO)
Next week, there will be more data is received. Although the data have yet to be sufficient to prove the existence of the ocean below the surface of Pluto, let alone the existence of life.

However, by looking at the moons around Jupiter and Saturn that has been shown to have subsurface oceans, the Pluto seas is very possible. Cox warned, though life may exist on Pluto, its shape may be very different from the Earth. Not that fish and marine plants there.

"What science tells us is that complex life is rare. We are physically very insignificant and may be very valuable," he said as quoted by The Independent on Monday, August 31, 2015. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE INDEPENDENT]
