Here're the Maranello's long snouted species of the 1990s to early 2000s

Unique ONES Everyone knows that Ferrari, the Italian premium car brand has always produced high-performance and classy automotive products since it was first founded in 1947 by Enzo Ferrari. Sometimes in the process of developing a car model, the Maranello-based automotive manufacturer involves famous figures in the racing world.

This was noted to have been done by Ferrari in the 1990s, when Luca di Montezemollo as CEO of Ferrari wanted to revive the long-nosed model with the V12 engine that had been produced and was successful in the past. For this reason, the Italian premium car manufacturer took a German famous  Formula-1 racer, Michael Schumacher in the development of the mentioned  high-performance road car.

To realize the mentioned sports car into reality, then Ferrari submitted the project to Pininfarina, one of the Italian leading coachbuilders. So then in 1996, here was born a sports car named the Ferrari 550 Maranello Grand Tourer with a design that was said to be very thick, inspired by the legendary figure of the Ferrari 275 GTB.

The model's name referred to the 5.5-litres total engine displacement in decalitres and dedicated to the town of Maranello, home to the Ferrari headquarters and factory. The power of the sports car comes from a front mounted 5,474cc V12 engine coupled with 6-speeds manual transmission system, which said to be burst of power of 384 hp and able to make the car accelerates from rest to 100 kph in just 4 seconds.
Ferrari 550 Barchetta is made to be the spyder version in the 2000. (Picture from: Wikipedia)
Not only the coupe-style sports cars ever built during 1996 to 2001, it turns out that Pininfarina also made the spyder version in 2000 and called the Ferrari 550 Barchetta. During its production period there're 3,083 units of the Ferrari 550 Maranello had been built and the 550 Barchetta of 448 units. And among the many Ferrari 550 Maranello produced, there are some special units that were once owned by famous people.

Like the black colored Ferrari 550 Maranello of 2000 was once owned by the late Eddie Van Halen, a rock star since 2008. Due to the rock star has a hobby of racing and of course his 550 car has several changes to the wheels, racing seats and has been equipped with a roll cage. to be adapted to his hobby. And when it was going to be auctioned at the end of 2020, the car had traveled as far as approximately 28,000 km such recorded on its odometer.

Although the Ferrari 550 Maranello has successfully entered the production line of the prancing horse logoed car manufacturer, there are a number of Ferrari inner circles who still feel that the design of this car has not met expectations and needs a design refresh. So in 2002, Pininfarina revised the design to its performance. Then the Ferrari 575M Maranello was born

Although the Ferrari 550 Maranello has successfully entered the production line of the prancing horse logoed car manufacturer, there are a number of Ferrari's inner circles who still feel that the car's design has not met expectations and needs a refreshment. So in 2002, Pininfarina revised the design to its performance, and the Ferrari 575M Maranello was born, in which the 575 model number refers to total engine displacement in centiliters, whilst the 'M' is an abbreviation of modificata ("modified").
Indeed the car was an all-around improved car version (modificata in Ferrari parlance), rather than an all-new construction and powered by a larger 5.75-litre version of the F133 engine. Aside from the redesigned interior, using a larger and more powerful engine, it turns out that updates from the 550 that were later installed on the 575M included substantial mechanical improvements, such larger brake discs, improved weight distribution, refined aerodynamics and fluid-dynamics along with an adaptive suspension set-up (the four independent suspensions are also controlled by the gearbox, to minimize pitch throughout the 200-milliseconds shift time).
For 2005, the company released a GTC handling package and a Superamerica version (the coupé variants with a retractable hardtop), along with raising the power from 508 hp to 533 hp. The Ferrari 575M Maranello was produced in between 2002 to 2006 with a total of 2,056 units, including 246 units with manual transmission. Meanwhile, the Superamerica model was produced by Ferrari as many as 559 units

Who was the lucky famous rich person ever had the Ferrari 575M Maranello? Eminem, the world famous rapper is listed as one of the lucky persons who owns the Ferrari 575M Maranello to become one of the exotic car collections in his manor. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FERRARI | WIKIPEDIA | FORZA-MAG | SENTIMENTALSHOP ]

The 550 Spyder potential contender of Alfa Romeo who failed to show on the racecourse

Unique ONES Shortly after the end of World War II, the automotive world was slowly getting back on its feet in which marked by many racing events flourished which were enthusiastically welcomed and attended by participants from both the automotive industry circles and privateers. At that time, the Grand Prix racing event was also rolling again and attracted the Alfa Romeo, one of the oldest Italian manufacturers to take part in it once again by bringing a new line of cars which then succeeded in the market and became a key player in the great post-war economic miracle in Italy.

For the Alfa Romeo, the early 1950s belonged to the Giulietta which was the first large car line models to be fully built by the company during the period from 1954 to 1965. Then there were several units of which were specially modified by the third parties, and it started by Bertone, the famous Italian coachbuilder is succeeded in building the Sprint 2 + 2 coupe and then shown it for the first time at the Turin Auto Show 1954. One year later the Berlina sedan and the Spider roadster are modified by another Italian coachbuilder, Pininfarina and joined with the Sprint to complete the Guilietta car line up that were visually appealing and fun to drive.
1955 Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione  failed to show on the racecourse due to unknown reasons after only two units ever made. (Picture from: UltimateCarPage)
Almost in the same time, the sports car racing was booming once again in Europe and the US, and the 1,500cc modification became the most popular and hotly contested racing class (of which the Porsche 550 Spyder eventually dominate back then). The Italian manufacturer also made the Alfa Romeo racing cars based on the Giulietta that would be run in the competition.
1955 Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione powered has 1955 Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione has a striking 'Spider' body that was distinctly different from all Alfa Romeos that came before or since. (Picture from: FavCars)
At the end of 1955, Alfa Romeo motor sports engineers managed to find its finest race car candidate, named Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione, in which the "Competizione" means the car specifically made for racing purpose only and "750" was the body code for the Giulietta on which it was based. The sports car is designed and made by Felice Boano, who has developed the lightweight aluminum-made "speedster" body in collaboration with Carlo Abarth to match it on a boxed steel chassis.

The running gear, comprising an independent front suspension with twin wishbones and coil springs and dampers, and a rigid-axle rear suspension, and could be said it was a piece of artwork. As for the drivetrain, the speedster is powered by a four-cylinder, dual-overhead cam 1.3-liter Alfa Romeo's engine based on the one used by the Giulietta Spyder and capable of spewing the power of 145 hp at 8,000 rpm, or nearly 100 hp per liter, which was a big number in the era.
1955 Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione could be said one of the serious contenders for the 550 Spyder in the 1,500cc modification racing class of the 1950s. (Picture from: FCAHeritage)
The machine coupled with the embedding of a close-ratio five-speed transmission and gear-driven, racing-spec cams made the 750 Competizione an amazingly responsive car to wheel around a racecourse with an overall weighs of 1,528 lbs. Even though those weight figures is slightly heavier than its rival the Porsche 550 Spyder, this is not an obstacle to its running speed, as under the hood it is then fitted with a blaster device that is said to be able to balance the extra heft with brute force and long heavy breathing.
So far, it is known that only two of the 750 Competizione speedsters have been ever made by Alfa Romeo of the initial plan was to build 50 cars. Some parties said, that the technical problems during testing had been the cause of the project's cancellation, yet others said the Alfa's business-focused management who had messed up the initial plan.

Either way, we will never know why the Alfa Romeo 750 Competizione has never appeared on the racecourse, even though at the time the most automotive observers and enthutiasts generally predicted it could be one of the serious contenders for the 550 Spyder in the 1,500cc modification racing class of the 1950s. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE DRIVE | FCA HERITAGE | WIKIPEDIA | ULTIMATECARPAGE ]

The Lamborghini Genesis Concept, which was introduced in 1988, is also arguably ahead of its time, because appears as a round-designed minivan. Besides that it should be acknowledged as a very bold step of Bertone by the pinning of a Lamborghini's V12 engine on a minivan and also applying the unique butterfly styled doors as a access to the fronts.

Although in the end the Genesis Concept remained as a minivan prototype which never be produced by Lamborghini.
At the last time, the Lamborghini's iconic minivan concept was presented to the public was at the 2020 Rétromobile in Paris.
