A nameless radical custom Corvette

What do you do when you have so much free time, metal-working skills, fondness for Morgan modern car design and a 1998 Corvette? Maybe like this would happen. This Warren Scaife's custom Corvette technically not have a name yet, but we're not sure it needs one. A name will not help people better understand what they're looking at when they ask the owner "What's that?"

But Scaife's thingking to pinned one or two of the 'XL' badges on it, so the car could better fulfill its intended purpose; ie to act as a rolling billboard for his fabrication company, XL Stainless. So what is it? In short, it is a custom-built 1998 Corvette equipped with a 665-horsepower supercharged V8 engine, which has a custom leather interior and hand formed aluminum body inspired by the Morgan LIFEcar concept.

All of this started, when business slows down in early 2009 due to the recession, and Warren Scaife, owner of Barrie, Ontario-based, XL Stainless fabrication, found himself with way too much free time and nothing to do with it. That's when he had the idea to create a project for himself that will double as an ad for his business and the radical, head-turning custom car.

XL Stainless specializes in the manufacture of stainless steel pharmaceutical machinery and equipment, but around eleven years ago, Scaife decided to break back into the automotive fabrication, where he had got his start.

This car will be a calling card for the automotive side of his business, and would hopefully turn him a profit when he decided to sell it, too. He chose a Corvette as the donor car (specially a 1998 Virginia rear-end victim that have been written-off) because he figured the car's high performance reputation would help when looking for a buyer for the finished product.

Design inspiration comes through the then-new Morgan LIFEcar concept, a car with its not-short wheelbase and a pontoon-style fenders, does not exactly lend itself to adaptation through a Corvette.

Then Scaife moved the Corvette's front suspension cradle forward 21 inches. He widened the car's rear end and relocated the engine, shock mounts and tilted the radiator forward instead backward. A rear spoiler was originally in the plans, as were Lamborghini-style scissor doors, but both felt too off-the-shelf to him. The gloss black on the car was supposed to be matte or satin, but a mix-up on the painter’s part left Scaife settling for the shinier stuff.

And then the drivetrain. Both engine and transmission got a full rebuild and were crammed full of almost every aftermarket performance part you could ask for. A stroker kit and supercharger gave the 383-cube V8 some 665 horsepower to work with, and the automatic transmision and low rear gears help the Corvette pull 160 km/h (100 mph) in second while returning 10 L/100 km (23 mpg) highway, according to Scaife.
For all of this, he has spent nearly 2,500 work hours and cost about $80,000. But the result was not in vain, and I think he has managed to build a very nice car. What do you think? *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOFOCUS]

One of a kind porcelain-trimmed Veyron Grand Sport L'Or Blanc

We all know that Bugatti is a renowned French's luxurious automotive brand made in limited quantities for a limited circle anyway. The more so if we looked at the following supercar figure.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L'Or Blanc like a very beautiful work of art in the form of a supercar, as well as the car also is a spectacular work of Bugatti in cooperation with a Berlin-based porcelain company named Königliche Porzellan-Manufatur Berlin (KPM) in 2011.

The outside view of Bugatti Veyron L'or Blanc is very alluring. Dominated by blue and white with unique graphics makes the car that uses a quad-turbocharged 8.0L W16 engine appeared very different from usual.

The coloring workmanship have a fairly high level of complexity. Bugatti designers using precision tape directly imported from Japan were able to glue perfectly with sulfur-containing material plasticine. With the staining technique as this will result in a better light reflection is generated by the car's body.

In addition to paint, the car also embellished with 12 elements of porcelain made of the Berlin-based best porcelain company. The porcelain is placed as the wheel center caps, fuel filler cap and interior trim pieces, and the EB logo embedded in the rear section were all fashioned by KPM from porcelain, most of it designed by hand. While inside the cabin, KPM put the standing elephant statues. These statues were created specially to add a unique feel to the Bugatti Veyron L'or Blanc.

Let's see the Project Napier

When see at first glance the design of classic drag motorcycle known as Honda Monkey as one of the Honda motorcycles which recorded as the world's fastest motorcycles on its category, moreover after the motorcycle modified by OORacing so constructed as to be a Honda Monkey look fierce like a genuine drag bike.

The extreme changes conducted by the modifier Adrian Motimer is fairly complicated, as well as retaining the original innards.

The modified motorcycle named 'Project Napier' have spent about 20 years to complete an extreme drag bike look carried a turbo-charge technology which was developed specifically as well as noted as the only one motorcycle in the world dressed like this.

As a result, the Monkey Honda engine originally uses a single cylinder engine configuration successfully fattened up to 170 cc so it can generate power up to 50 hp. Glancing on the modified result, this Honda Monkey is able to solve the problem of limited space to put important innards such as coil sensor, fuel pump, ECU, battery, intercooler, etc.
Honda Monkey, originally a tiny classic motorcycle, and then converted into the fastest tiny drag motorcycle in the world. Through several testing session at the long track in Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, the Honda Monkey is capable driven up to the maximum speed of 100 mph (160 km/h). Wow, the results were pretty good is not it?

The world's first jet turbine bagger

Some time ago, I surfed in the internet and found the pictures of unique bagger motorcycles. The most interesting and intrigued me was a bagger motorcycle made by Kody McNew of VooDoo Bikeworks.

Back in 2014, Voodoo Bikeworks to bring the very first Jet Turbine Bagger, the Voodoo Jet Bike… There are no others like this! In addition to having a very unique body shape, this bike also uses a machine that is not commonly used on motorcycles, namely Jet Turbine. But unfortunately, none of the detailed technical specifications, both on the engine, base used to build the motorbike, or its performance data.

This motorcycle is deliberately created by Kody McNew and the crew of VooDoo Bikeworks in order to answer the challenges of a reality show called 'Biker Battleground Phoenix,' the show was initiated by Paul Yaffe, an American legendary motorbike-designer. On the reality show series pits five rival bike-builders from Phoenix, Arizona, against each other to see who can design and build the best bike to put an end to their rivalry and smack talking.

The motorbike also had been featured on the History Channel and was a part of Sturgis Biker Build Off 2014! Take a look for yourself on the short video made by Voodoo Bikeworks teamed up with Krookid Photography and Felt Not Heard Productions.
What do you think? The world would be a more interesting place with this unique motorcycle out on the roads. Wanna see the unique jet turbine bagger motorbike hit the road for the first time.

More recently, a fantastic record set by the Guinness Book of World Records for  the most expensive tires in the World which is sold at a price of US. $600,000 or more than Rp.8 billion in Dubai! At first glance, these tires seem like the general tires as usual, but if you look more closely again, then you can see the gilt and the diamonds inlay that decorated the walls of the tires, not to mention gold fibrous contours.

As quoted of Autoblog, Dubai's Z Tyre partnered with China's Sentury Tire to produce a one-of-a-kind set of performance tires to "Celebrate and recognize the true worth of its range of high performance tires".

Starting with a set of four Z1 high performance tires, Z Tyre sent the rubber to Italy, where artisan jewelers studded them with specially chosen diamonds. The tires were then sent to Abu Dhabi, where they were covered in gold leaf by the same craftsmen involved in building of the new royal palace there.

The Dubai-based company does not recommend pairing the tires on the car and park the car in any place, because it is estimated that many thieves who are eyeing and could directly steal these four gold tires when the car was parked.

Although paying with a fantastic amount of money for a set of tires might look like 'signs of the apocalypse', but Z Tyre said all proceeds from the sale of the world's most expensive tires will be donated to charity purposes.
"In keeping with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, Z Tyre will donate all profits from the $600,000 sale to the Zenises Foundation, which focuses on improving access to education across the world," said Harjeev Kandhari, CEO of Z Tyre, as quoted of Autoblog.

Hmm, roughly what the suitable car for these truly crazy tires worth $600 thousand? *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | Z TYRE | AUTOBLOG]
