A modern reincarnation of Porsche 904 by Sbarro's Students

New BEAST Perhaps there is no one in the automotive world who does not know Franco Sbarro, a gentleman from Switzerland (who is now around 83 years old) is famous for a series of unique and unusual automotive creations, especially after he founded an auto design school under his name in Montbeliard, and usually called Espera Sbarro Montbéliard, in which annually its students routinely present extraordinary sports or utility vehicles.

Some time ago while surfing in the internet, we came across one of the sports car prototypes made by the Sbarro design school students of 2019 called the Sbarro Renner Coupe, which evokes extreme emotions due to carries a design inspired by racing cars of the sixties, and also powered by modern racing engines.
The Sbarro Renner Coupe inspired by racing cars from the 1960s, in particular: the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. (Picture from: DDSPhotographe)
The Sbarro Renner sports coupe model is said to be inspired by racing cars from the 1960s, in particular: the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. Initially, the German-made 650 kilograms weighing sports car was prepared for the 1963 racing season, powered by a four-cylinder boxer engine with a capacity of almost two liters to burst power around 185 horsepower. But then for its racing prototype, Porsche also prepared in versions of six and eight cylinder engines.
The Sbarro Renner Coupe building project was implemented by 24 students of the Sbarro design school, and completed work from the first sketch to the finished car in just fifty-six days. (Picture from: DDSPhotographe)
The Sbarro Renner sports coupe building project was implemented by twenty-four students of the Sbarro design school, who completed work from the first sketch to the finished car in just fifty-six days. The sports coupe's body is made of fiberglass, and is built on a tubular frame. In the process, this coupe not only referred to the classic form of the Porsche 904, its creators also made sure that it was made as close as possible to the original technologically.

Furthermore, this sports coupe prototype is driven by a mid-mounted engine derived from the Subaru WRX STI. This is a four-cylinder boxer engine with a capacity of two and a half liters, connected to a turbocharger, then the power of the Sbarro sports coupe prototype is shifted exclusively to the rear axle via a five-speed manual gearbox.

This machine is capable of spitting out power of around three hundred horsepower to drive the Sbarro Renner sports coupe weighing around 940 kilograms which will certainly guarantee extraordinary performance, but unfortunately the car has never undergone intensive testing to discuss specific performance figures.
As quoted from Autogen.pl, after the construction of the Renner sports coupe prototype completion, the car was exhibited for the first time to the public at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show along with other no-less exotic cars of Espera Sbarro Montbéliard such the Sbarro Miles Concept.
The Sbarro Miles Concept was modeled on the cars that competed in the American famous racing Indianapolis 500 of the 1960s and 1970s(Picture from: Autogen.pl)
As you can see, the second car of the Sbarro Miles Concept is also inspired by racing cars several decades ago. The car was uniquely built in less time than the Renner; only about forty days. The car was modeled on the cars that competed in the American famous racing Indianapolis 500 of the 1960s and 1970s.
Unlike them, the sports car accommodates the driver and passengers in the open sky, which is only protected by a small fairing. The vehicle is powered by a front-mounted supercharged six-cylinder BMW engine with an output of around three hundred horsepower to drive the car rear axle through a five-speed manual gearbox. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SBARRO | AUTOGEN.PL ]

Meanwhile, with all drivetrain included the three electric motors allow this prancing sted spyder to sprint from still to 100 kph in just 2.5 seconds before achieved a top speed of 340 kph. As for the retractable hardtop roof, you can raise or lower it in just 14 seconds, and you can press a button without having to stop the car first.
Not to be missed anyway, Ferrari has installed an electrically retractable rear window to provide a bit of comfort when the roof is lowered. With the optional Assetto Fiorano package, the Ferrari SF90 Spider is 21 kilograms lighter with more use of carbon fiber and aluminum.

And the prancing horse logoed automaker is expected to complete the Cavalcade Collection in the coming weeks with the fifth and final build.. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FERRARI | TAILOR MADE FERRARI | MOTOR1 | CARBUZZ ]

When Italian made American muscle cars

Forgotten ONES This time we start this article with a matter of taste. It's undeniable that Italian cars are very beautiful, but it doesn't automatically stop the Italians from liking American muscle cars. The question is how do the Italians interpret the American muscle car after they realized into real?
The LMX Sirex was an Italian 2-door, 2-seater sports car, and known also the only model produced by LMX Automobile S.R.L. (Linea Moderna Executive), a company founded by Michel Liprandi and Giovanni Mandelli. (Picture from: Medium)
In general, it could became some kind of an American muscle cars with Italian tastes. For example the Italian GT car as follow, although it really has nothing to do with it, due to coincidently it has similar shape, using the same engine or even both. Well, maybe you've never heard of this Italian sports car brand before.

No wonder, due to this is a not-so-famous brand owned by a Milan-based automotive company called Linea Moderna Executive (LMX) Automobile S.R.L. The company was founded in the mid-1960s by an Italian entrepreneur Giovanni Mandelli and a French engineer Michel Liprandi.
The LMX Sirex produced by LMX Automobile S.R.L. (Linea Moderna Executive) during 1969 to 1973 (in total of 50 units) and available both in convertible and coupé bodywork. (Picture from: TheAutopian)
In short, the production of the sports car later named the LMX Sirex was initiated by Liprandi who happened to be a composite expert, which was quickly approved for production by the Milan-based automotive company in 1968. Uniquely, in the course of this sports car production process ranging from the design stage up to production, there are many stories that link it with several famous names in the world's automotive from Italy.
The LMX Sirex bodywork is built on a frame originally designed by Gioacchino Colombo, and Liprandi made modifications to cut weight down to just 163 lbs. (Picture from: Medium)
For example, the LMX Sirex sports car was built on a frame originally designed by Gioacchino Colombo, the famous mastermind behind the Ferrari V12s bearing his name. However, Liprandi made modifications to the frontal area of the frame’s design, and also drilled a number of holes into the steel to cut weight down to just 163 lbs.
The first production of the LMX Sirex done by Eurostyle starting in 1969 and forced stop production in 1973 after managed to produce only 35 cars. (Picture from: TheAutopian)
Reportedly, the fiberglass body which clearly has an American touches was designed by Franco Scaglione himself. Maybe this refers to the time when the famous designer was a freelancer at the time. Although the Scaglione story is rather hard to confirm, what’s for sure is that the famous designer was already working on many fiberglass bodied sports cars by 1966.
Reportedly, the fiberglass body which clearly has an American touches was designed by Franco Scaglione himself. (Picture from: TheAutopian)
Such stories were made possible because this company fronted by a French gentleman who knew about fiberglass teamed up with an Italian entrepreneur who happened to know many his fellow Italians who could supply them with everything from chassis designs to fashionable contemporary American muscle car bodies.
The LMX Sirex is powered by a Ford Taunus 20M P7, which meant a 2.3-liter Cologne V6 engine with 126 horsepower. (Picture from: TheAutopian)
If we look at its appearance, the proportions of this car's design remind us of the 1967 Chevy Camaro, combined with a touch of 1967 Alfa Romeo Montreal concept by Marcello Gandini of Bertone at the rear. So you would be forgiven for thinking Sirex came from Detroit rather than the Italian fashion capital Milan.
The LMX Sirex debuted at the Turin Motorshow held in November of 1968. (Picture from: Motor1)
Meanwhile its powertrain got lifted from a Ford Taunus 20M P7, which meant a 2.3-liter Cologne V6 engine with 126 horsepower. The choice of this engine to be planted as an LMX Sirex drivetrain was inseparable from the company's limited funds at that time. It was understandable that Ford engines were cheaper and also promised ease of service if compared with the Ferrari, Alfa Romeo or Fiat engines.
The first production of the LMX Sirex done by Eurostyle starting in 1969 and forced stop production in 1973 after managed to produce only 35 cars. (Picture from: Medium)
And the LMX Sirex debuted at the Turin Motorshow held in November of 1968. Well, because the company was a small entreprises only, so it could not afford an official stand at that time, the car was shown outside the exhibition hall. However, its presence still attracts attention of the expo visitors.
A further production process of 12 to 15 cars were built afterward from leftover parts by another company called Samas. (Picture from: TheAutopian)
After the expo ended, the car production began and by the summer of 1969, the LMX Sirex was ready for the market. At the time, construction of the fiberglass body and its fitment onto the chassis were delegated to a Turinese firm called Eurostyle. The cars available both in convertible and coupé bodywork, plus the consumer could also choose a different engine if they wished.
Unfortunately, the company's financial condition worsened, coupled with slow sales, which forced it to stop production in 1973 after managed to produce only 35 cars. A further production process of 12 to 15 cars were built afterward from leftover parts by another company called Samas. That brings the total production tally up to an estimated 50 cars, of which about half are still known to exist to this day. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THEAUTOPIAN | MEDIUM | MOTOR1 | WIKIPEDIA ]

Then its interior is made neat and minimalist. As you can see, all set in such a way that given the sports seats covered in Alcantara and continued with black leather (supplied by Mario Levi Group) are developed around driver ergonomics, while the 'GAS GAS' ignition switch is intended to be another homage to Capirossi.
The FV Frangivento GT65 which weighs around 1,480 kg is able to display pure supercar performance, with acceleration from zero to 100 kph only in 3 seconds and run up to a top speed of over 330 kph. (Picture from: 4Troxoi.gr)

Nice curves of the Bargon Alhambra sportscar from the late 1960s

Rare ONES - As has been the case before when surfing the internet, we again found a unique sports coupé figure. Frankly, we feel curious and disturbed to find out immediately about this car that we believe is rarely known by the public. And well, here's one more sports car that can be included in that category is the Bargon Alhambra which once joined into the world's automotive crowds in the late 1960s.

If we look at the name, of course we can immediately guess that this car is the work result of a Spanish manufacturer. Well, the mentioned Spanish coachbuilding company was Carroceria Bargon, and its name derived from the first letters of the name of the company founder Bartolomé González (Bar-Gon).

Initially, Bartolomé González opened his-owned Bagovia workshop in Barcelona, where he made several elongated sedans and station wagons based on the Seat 1400. It's noted, the Bagovia's most famous project was the Seat 750 Primavera convertible built based on the Seat 600, presented at the Barcelona Fair 1961 and built in triplicate.
The second prototype of Bargon Alhambra Sport 1200 Coupé was a unique 2-seater sports coupé measuring 3.9 m long, 1.5 m wide, and 1.2 m high. (Picture from: BMWFaq.org)
When one of Spanish manufacturer of engines, trucks, buses and automobiles Barreiros (known as the Chrysler Europe subsdiary from 1969 to 1978) was opened its production facility in Villaverde to produce Dodge and Chrysler models, then he moved the workshop nearby, on Via Antonio Dominguez in Madrid, where he converted many Barreiros cars into limousines, ambulances and hearses.

Only in the mid of 1960s. Bartolome González, together with businessman Antonio Bienvenida and car importer Luciano Otera, decided to create their own sportscar based on the Simca 1000. And at the Barcelona Motor Show 1968, they presented the Bargon Alhambra Sport 1200 Spider, a roofless prototype powered by a modified 1.2 liter Simca Rally engine.

In 1969, the second prototype of the Bargon Alhambra Sport 1200 Coupé was prepared, which received a more luxurious leather interior with a Smiths wood-panelled instrument panel, a Blaupunkt radio and Austin A40 Farina headlights.
Both prototypes of the Bargon Alhambra Sport 1200 (in pictured is coupé model) built based on the Simca 1000, and powered by a modified 1.2 liter Simca Rally engine. (Picture from: BMWFaq.org)
Besides having the uniqueness of the name, it turns out that the Bargon Alhambra also has another uniqueness in terms of shape which can be seen in both two prototypes it built, in which had a double body with a wavy waist line and coupled with panoramic windows.

Unfortunately the business journey of this Spanish coachbuilder in world's automotive did not run smoothly, due to administrative, economic and technical problems made the small production of the roadster and coupé models was never happened. Today, both models are safe in private collections, but rarely seen by the public. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOPASION18 | AUTOMOTIVE-HERITAGE | VINTAGEARV | ALLCARINDEX ]

The newest V12-engined supercar to mark the Bizzarrini reborn

NEW Beast As we seen recently on Twitter, Bizzarrini SpA, one of the famous Italian brands in the past has announced that it will revive in the automotive world by launching its newest supercar model. This is not surprising, so far, many well-known car manufacturers in the past have made such efforts like this, when they tried to get back on their feet.
The reborn Bizzarrini firm has unveiled its first all-new car called Bizzarrini Giotto, which will arrive later this year in limited numbers, powered by a Lamborghini-derived V12. (Picture from: Autocar)
The marque carries the name of its founder who is none other than an Italian experienced engineer Giotto Bizzarrini. Even though it existed for several years and had produced several masterpieces such as the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada, Bizzarrini 5300 SI Spyder, Bizzarrini 1900 GT Europa, Bizzarrini P538, and the most unique Bizzarrini Manta, unfortunately the company had to close its doors after experiencing many serious problems in 1969. Since then, the company has made several attempts to revive itself, such as in the 1990s and then in 2006.
The all-new Bizzarrini Giotto features a design similar to the legendary Bizzarrini 5300 GT, but with bespoke carbonfibre bodywork, narrow LED headlights and dual, bonnet-mounted air vents.. (Picture from: Autocar)
Well to mark its reborn this time, the Bizzarrini firm unveiled its first all-new supercar, which will arrive later this year in limited numbers, powered by a Lamborghini-derived V12, and called the Bizzarrini Giotto. As its name, clearly the supercar is dedicated to the firm's original founder, Giotto Bizzarrini, an engineer and test driver who played a vital role in developing the Ferrari 250 GTOLamborghini 350 GTV PrototipoIso Rivolta, Iso Grifo A3, and many others.
The all-new Bizzarrini Giotto's front fascia features with narrow LED headlights and dual, bonnet-mounted air vents. (Picture from: Autocar)
Looking at the exterior appearance, it turns out that the Bizzarrini Giotto shares a similar design with the Bizzarrini 5300 GT, but with bespoke carbon fiber bodywork, narrow LED headlights and dual hood-mounted air vents. Furthermore it also has a wrap-around windshield and a teardrop-shaped rear end to maximize aerodynamic efficiency. Related to this, the automaker said that the Giotto's composite body was formed using technology derived from motorsport, and has met worldwide safety standards.
The all-new Bizzarrini Giotto powered by a rear-mid-mounted Lamborghini-derived naturally aspirated V12 engine and mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. (Picture from: Autocar)
Furthermore as mentioned above, its powertrain will use a Lamborghini-derived naturally aspirated V12. The engine will be rear-mid-mounted and mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. So far Bizzarrini still hasn't disclosed the detailed technical specifications, which reportedly will be revealed later this year, with all of its engineering aspects overseen by Bizzarrini CTO Chris Porritt, a former engineering lead at Aston Martin, Tesla and Rimac. While testing is scheduled to begin in 2024.
The all-new Bizzarrini Giotto has a wrap-around windscreen and a teardrop-shape rear end to maximise aerodynamic efficiency. (Picture from: Autocar)
As quoted from Autocar, Porritt described that the Giotto's development was not focused on chasing acceleration times or lap records, but developing a car that appeals to those experienced drivers who seek purity, authenticity, and rarity. This is vocal and emotive, it’s mechanical and it’s tactile. But it’s also incredibly practical and luxurious, delivered with the personality and emotion of a bespoke Italian brand.
Unfortunately, no pricing information has been detailed for this Bizzarrini's newest supercar. However, if you are interested in nostalgia with the legendary Bizzarrini 5300 GT, the Livorno-based automaker offer its revival version with a price tag starting at £ 1.65 million and is limited to just 24 units. Hurry up because the number is limited!😉 *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BIZZARRINI | AUTOCAR ]
