Hitler's car is still smooth and shiny

An old car with a smooth condition successfully drawing attention in a community event in Los Angeles. Yes, this old car was ever used by Adolf Hitler, the leader of NAZI, ie a 1941 Mercedes-Benz W150 Grosser 770K Offener Tourenwagen.

This antique car is owned by William Lyon, a veteran aged 92. General Lyon is a man enjoying a well-earned and well-funded retirement. A pilot who flew in the second world war and Korea and later ran the air force reserve, he has loved planes and automobiles since he was a young man. But not until he made his fortune as a developer could the general indulge his mechanical passions in the manner he does today.

As reported by the Guardian on Monday, September 14, 2015, remarkably, despite aging this car is still smooth and sleek. The old car is recorded several times brought Hitler during his visit to Finland on June 1942. Usually, the car was used by him for the purposes to go or leave the airport.

Because became a vehicle for very important person such as Hitler in its heyday, so the vehicle has several high-level security facilities. It can be seen from the car body is made of steel with a thickness of ¾-inch and together with the 1½-inch-thick window glass.

This car was specifically designed for Hitler and able to withstand the explosions of grenades and landmines. Because it uses thick steel material, and no wonder that the car weighs up to five tonnes.
There is a unique story that this car had trouble finding a tire that can withstand a weight of five tons. In fact, according to Lyon, it took about 15 years for them to get a qualified tires. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE GUARDIAN]

Proven, the water flows on Mars today!

It's clear and irrefutable, the water flows on Mars today! Water flowed on the red planet during the summer. But if you drink the water it will cause thirst. Therefore brine.

The conclusion that water flowed on Mars at this time obtained after scientists at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) who analyzed the unique image photographed by the camera on the Mars Reconaissance Orbitter (MRO) spacecraft.

The MRO imagery showed a line pattern that increasingly recede and fan pattern on a steep cliff in the valleys and craters of Mars. The pattern is a sign of the water that flows down the valley or Recurring Slope Lineae (RSL).

Scientists do not yet know with certainty the source of the water. The water could have come from the ice below the surface, a source of salt water in the aquifer layer, or is the result of condensation of the thin Martian atmosphere.

"(It's Clear), there is a liquid water on the surface of Mars today," said Michael Meyer, head of NASA's space exploration program. "Therefore, we estimate that there is an environment that supports the existence of life today."

"Mars is not a dry planet as previously thought," said Jim Green, another NASA scientist, as quoted by The Guardian on Monday, September 28, 2015.

NASA's findings indicate that the wet Mars in the past. In the 1970s, NASA photographed the Mars region allegedly is a former river and the areas that were previously located under the waters.

Then, earlier this year NASA revealed that in the past, Mars had oceans. Allegedly, the ocean it is located in the northern hemisphere.

However, a number of other findings indicate that Mars not only wet in the past but also the present. Nearly a decade ago, the Mars Global Surveyor photographed signs of flowing water on the Martian rocks.

In 2011, MRO revealed the signs of water flowing on the cliffs of Mars in late spring and early autumn. Water mark that is called RSL.

The present findings confirm that Mars today still has water. The results of chemical analysis by (color-based) spectrometric techniques show it.

Lujendra Ojha from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta using spektronmetri to see the reflection of infrared light from the surface of Mars when the line pattern began to emerge and when fully developed.

Research results published in the journal Nature Geoscience that revealed the existence of a hydrated salt molecules (has interacted with water) on the surface of Mars. Hydrated salt, such as chlorate and perchlorate, a clear sign of the presence of water at this time. There are four locations found water flow, which in the crater Hale, Palikir, Horowitz as well as in the Coprates Chasma valley.

Water flows along the salt molecule Mars when the temperature is higher than 23 degrees Celsius. Water is able to flow at very cold temperatures it because it has been mixed with salt so that its melting point is lower.

"The earlier mystery is what allows the salt to flow? Maybe the water but until now could not be ascertained," said Meyer.

"From this study, we revealed that the RSL is formed because of the salt that interacts with the water to form salt water that flows down the cliff," he added.

Findings the signs of flowing water on Mars today makes Scientists are increasingly convinced that Mars store in the form of microbial life. "The locations where water flows found probably the best place to look for life that still exist on the surface of Mars," said Alfred McEwen, a planetary expert at the University of Arizona who was involved in the research.
"While it is important to find life on Mars in the past, it is very difficult to understand biology. The life that exist today will be more informative," he added.

John Bridge, a professor of planetary science at the University of Leicester, said these findings could be clues to uncover the source of water. There, life can be found. He said that this findings is very interesting. "Our Mars changed now and we will continue to discuss it later," he said. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE GUARDIAN]

An Electric Motorcycle with Classic Style

If we talk about electric motorcycles, probably the thing  will crossed on your mind is those motorbike should has a futuristic shape and blazingly fast. But, there's nothing wrong if the electric motorcycles are made in a classic style and could be appeared in cool and unique shape.
A Swiss customiser gives the classic motorbike design a dramatic 21st Century electric makeover named SineCycle. (Picture from: http://bbc.in/1FD2flb)
Through the creative and skillful hands of Bruno Forcella who dismissed the notion that electric-powered vehicles should have a futuristic design. As quoted from BBC Autos on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, he has developed an electric motorcycle with old-school chopper style.

Here are several pictures of SineCycle. (All pictures taken from: http://bbc.in/1FD2flb)

Bruno Forcella is a former electrical engineer from Switzerland. He called his electric motorcycle with the name 'SineCycle' and built on a hardtail frame called "The Heist" by US-based Cleveland Cyclewerks, the bike is a customiser’s dream project.

The electric motorcycle is made with a low handlebar position. Additionally, SineCycle equipped with 21-inch front wheels and 18-inch on rear. A handmade saddle, modified fender and faux fuel tank also adorn this electric motorcycle. These electric motorcycle then painted in Mercedes silver color.

The SineCycle is a one-off for the moment, and not yet street-legal, it driven by a 2.8 kWh permanent magnet motor from Zero Motorcycles. And then those power transmitted to the rear wheels via direct belt drive. Forcella lists the top speed as 75 mph or 120 km/h, but a range of only 35 miles or 56 km makes for a very short joyride.
At least, Forcella has proven that modification of motor vehicle not only to pollute the environment. In fact, the motorcycle modification can also be more loving environment with the birth of SineCycles, an electric motorcycle with old-school chooper style. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SINECYCLES | BBC]

This sophisticated seat can check the driver's stress level

The development of vehicle technology is increasingly rapidly. Not just about the car's engine but research and development continues to develop other components, such as car seats.
The 'Active Wellness' seat (pictured) has built-in biometric sensors to detect if a driver is lacking energy or is under stress – and responds by offering a suitable massage and blowing air through its ventilation system. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1P4V47g)
Faurecia, a French automotive components company, creating a smart seat coded 'Active Wellness'. Remarkably, this seat can check the condition and the driver's level of stress or the person sitting on it.
The sensors in the seat (illustrated left) detect a driver's heart rhythms and breathing patterns and the data is used to trigger fans (right) to blow our air and motors to give the driver a massage. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1P4V47g)
"Active Wellness presented to provide maximum comfort. The basic thing we do is to monitor breathing and heart rate to determine the condition of people who are sitting," explained Olaf Biedermann, Director of Innovation Faurecia, as quoted by Reuters.
A diagram showing the functions of the seat including 'fatigue and stress correction' is shown above. The sensors in the seat are built by American company Hoana Medical and used exclusively by Faurecia. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1P4V47g)
Once the smart seat knowing the condition of the person sitting, then the treatment will be given a smart seat is going to be adjusted. If the person is stressed it will be given a relaxing massage, but if the person is tired then it will be given a strong massage.
It takes about five years to develop the seat. Reportedly Active Wellness will be marketed in 2020, but unfortunately the price for a seat is still a secret. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FAURECIA | DAILYMAIL | REUTERS]
