Chrysler Turbine Car can run with all-kind of fuels you gave

When talking about turbine engines and cars, maybe not many people know about it. Indeed, this type of engine is more often found in aircraft or helicopters and is not commonly used in four-wheeled vehicles or two wheels. Turbine engines have advantages over conventional piston engines, such as larger bursts of power, less maintenance, and last longer, as well as a simple size. But this machine has a big weakness that makes it unsuitable to be used as a drivetrain for cars or motorcycles, besides producing very noisy sounds as well as very expensive production prices.

Chrysler Turbine Car is a 2-door hardtop coupe created by Elwood Engel and Chrysler's studios. The car also features a variety of modern features such as power brakes, power steering, and TorqueFlite transmission, and was coated with a metallic, root beer-colored paint known as "turbine bronze".

Then the body of the Chrysler Turbine Car was done by Ghia, an Italian design studio and Chrysler completed its assembly in Detroit. The car is driven by an A-831 turbine engine that has a working principle like a helicopter (turboshaft) engine and said able to run on a variety of fuels. The engine can output up to 130 horsepower with a torque of 576 Nm.

At that time, the car was produced as many as 55 units, with details of five prototypes and a limited run of 50 cars for a public user program. Finally in 1966 when the program was declared over, Chrysler took all of these cars and destroyed all but nine of them. Then Chrysler kept two units, five units were displayed in the museum and the remaining two units were in a private collection.

The newest muscle Batmobile

The latest Batman's movie titled 'The Batman' is planned to be released on June 25, 2021, where the handsome actor Robert Pattinson will play as Bruce Wayne, known as Batman when he becomes a superhero who defends the Gotham City from organized crime.

But what raises the curiosity of The Batman movie is, whether the Gotham City superhero will continue to use his flagship car named the Batmobile. Yes, of course the Batmobile will always be used, but only its form will be different.

As quoted from Screenrant, the Batmobile used by Robert Pattinson seems to be an American muscle car known as 1970 Plymouth Barracuda which had a modification process. And also reportedly, the car modification process was included in the drivetrain which is a mid-mounted twin-turbo engine seemingly a V-8, though some on social media are seeing a fifth coil pack on each side that would make it a V-10.

From the photo, the turbos locates in between the roll cage and bodywork in the back and you'll find two snails with short exhaust pipes expelling waste gases directly into the atmosphere.
Of course this will be a question, why the Batmobile uses an American muscle car? Apparently, The Batman movie will be set in the 1990s, where the director wanted to show in the movie when Bruce Wayne was young and the beginning as Batman.
Not only modifying a classic car into the Batmobile, and in the movie, Bruce Wayne is also seen sewing his own costume. The Silhouette, the first Lambo featuring a removable roof

Development of V8 engined cars carried out by Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A. does not stop with the Urraco model. It has not been able to produce the best model yet, although the development process has cost a lot of money including funds from Ferruccio himself and the company.

It was more crucial and critical that the company's finances at that time were not in good condition where the sales figures could not compensate for its large investments, even after the Urraco P300 model was introduced. Even worse, the factory was not in a position to consider replacing Urraco at that time.

Ferruccio still believes that the more mainstream models could succeed and make more money than the exotic V12 supercars, so he asked Bertone to redesign the Urraco P300 into a different looking car, so as to be able to drive sales to a level that would boost sales to a level that would finally create some decent return on the massive investment in the development of the V8 engined cars.

Then Bertone prepared the first prototype which was projected as the Urraco's successor. The prototype was displaying the extension of the round wheel arches and modified rear window, further development of this initial concept leads to the figure that came to be known as the very special Lamborghini Silhouette which was first shown to the public at the 1976 Geneva Auto Show.

The refurbished model still clearly showed its Urraco origins but took the original design several years into the future. The Silhouette would become the first production Lamborghini featuring a removable roof section creating a convertible model.

Only one downturn on this configuration is the removal of the rear seats and for the Lamborghini Silhouette, the configuration changes into two seats by making enough space to store its removable roof section in the rear, where those two removed seats located before.

Then in the interior of the Silhouette, there was a significant improvement over the previous Urraco model, such as the use of a magnificent new bucket seat, far more stylish with an aggressive exterior. But the use of standard fabrics is still used with a beautiful vertical line in the middle of the chair and backrest.

Although the interior was changed to a more ergonomic style with a new dashboard that tilted slightly towards the driver, the use of genuine leather for the interior is still optional for the Silhouette. Imagine being caught in some heavy rain with a cloth interior. It could be a problem if you didn’t bring those beach towels with you.

Shifting on the exterior, the impressive deep front spoiler with similar styled, squared-off wheel arch extensions as needed to cover the innovative telephone dial wheels shod with state of the art Pirelli P7 tires, 285 mm wide at the rear. Then the wheel size increased from the original 14 inches to a larger 15 inches, while the overall width of the rim rose to 11 inches at the rear.

Then the entire suspension geometry was modified to keep those 285 mm of Italian rubber as flat as possible on the road and maintain full traction on the wide rear wheel at all times. The Miura inspired engine cover design from the Urraco was lost during the redesign, and a new tunnel back was introduced incorporating a rollover cage to comply with safety regulations for open-top cars.

While the engine is derived from the Urraco P300 but is driven up to 265 hp which means adding weight from the substantial modifications needed to the chassis to go roof-less, it does not mean that the Silhouette would stay behind the Urraco P300 when driving on the open road.

Overall, this should be a good idea of ​​open-top driving a true Lamborghini very appealing to potential buyers, but the Silhouette couldn’t fulfill its high hopes. So it does not make the company's financial condition better, due to Lamborghini couldn’t convince customers to buy the Silhouette. And even worse is the fact that the company was unable to certify the Silhouette for sale in the United States, possibly the biggest market for this kind of Lamborghini.

The Lamborghini Silhouette was kept in production for only two years, with a total at no more than 52 units from which only 27 to 31 are believed to have survived today. And it is not surprising that this model is now included in one of the rare Lamborghini models so to get it requires more effort at a high cost too, just like the whole experience of the V8 engined car development that was carried out by the late Ferruccio back in the Seventies.
However, the development efforts of the V8 engined car by the Italian premium car manufacturer have not stopped at the Lamborghini Urraco and Silhouette even though production stopped in 1979. Then the last reincarnation of the V8 engined model was continued on the Lamborghini Jalpa which was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show 1981. Gemballa Avalanche, an off-road version of Porsche 911

The Urraco, 1970s-style V8-engined Lamborghini sports car

In the early 1970s, Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A. was seen actively developing V8-engined cars, this can be seen in the development of the Lamborghini Urraco model and was also intended to rival its compatriot manufacturer iconic model, Ferrari Dino.

Virgil Exner's Stutz Blackhawk

Initially, this automotive brand is an American luxury sportscar brand. The Indianapolis-based company began production in 1911 and ended in 1935. The brand revived in 1968 by a New York banker James O'Donnell in collaboration with world-renowned automotive designers and former Chrysler's design chief Virgil Exner.

The company stands under the auspices of Stutz Motor Car of America, Inc., and produced the car with a new modern retro look. Although technically the company still exists, sales of vehicles produced by the factory actually had stopped in 1995.

It can be said that the Exner's designed car is the latest version of Blackhawk. When the car production began in 1971, all early versions of the Blackhawk had a body style coupe and were built handbuilt.

The initial version of the Stutz Blackhawk uses a Pontiac V8 engine with a dimension of 455 cubic inches with a 7.5-liter capacity, mated to a three-speed GM TH400 automatic transmission. The engine that is set is capable of producing 425 hp (317 kW) of torque of 570 Nm (420 ft.lb).

Although weighing 2,300 kg, Stutz Blackhawk accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 8.4 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 130 mph (210 kph), with the fuel usage of 8 miles per gallon (30 liters per 100 km).
By the time production ended in 1987, around 575 units of Stutz Blackhawk had been sold to exclusive customers throughout the US and several other countries worldwide. Some famous Stutz Blackhawk owners include the singer Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Billy Joel, Elton John, to Paul McCartney, then the actor Dean Martin, Al Pacino and the comedian Sammy Davis Jr.

Known, Elvis Presley ever had owned 5 units of this car, with the first being purchased by him for the US $26,500 on October 9, 1970, after one 'price bidding war' happened between him and his colleague Frank Sinatra. Chiron Pur Sport targets cornering speed record

Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S presents its latest supercar variant with a more sporty appearance, named Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport. Then this special edition supercar will begin to be assembled in the second half of 2020 and made in a limited number, which is only 16 units which will be priced at 3.2 million or around Rp.50.5 billion per unit.

A weird look 1950 BMW-Veritas Convertibles by Spohn

This was the first time we've heard the 'Veritas' auto brand, it might be a little strange for ours today. But in fact, the name was the German automotive company name founded by 3 individuals who worked at BMW shortly the 2nd World War was over.

As quoted from Conceptcarz, the company was founded by Ernst Loof, Georg Meier, and Lorenz Dietrich. All three of these individuals brought a wealth of experience. Meier had won the 1939 motorcycle Tourist trophy and Loof was also a motorcycle champion. Loof’s resume included a management position in BMW’s sports department and Dietrich had worked for the BMW Company as well.

After World War II came to a close, these three individuals began modifying and building vehicles based on BMW components. Since the Allied Forces occupying Germany restricted engine manufacturing to a maximum of one liter, customers would bring their own drivetrain, which would be installed at their Hausern factory.

From 1948 to 1950, the Veritas was the two-liter car to beat on the European racing scene. The Veritas-BMW Hemi six-cylinder engine and four-speed transmission outclassed and outran the competition during these years, collecting 30 victories and eight National Championships. This unique Spohn-bodied version is certainly a most unique Veritas. The SP-90’s dramatic tail fins and long hoods are unique among all other Veritas models.

In 1949, the Veritas Company introduced a road-going Komet coupe which was little more than a racing Veritas RS made street legal. This was soon followed by a coupe, cabriolet, and sports roadster body styles. The bodywork was performed by Karosseriebau Hermann Spohn of Ravensburg, known for their work on Maybach chassis. The engines were from BRMW in either stock or modified 326 units or powerplants from the 328. Since BMW did not allow the use of their name on cars not of their manufacture, the vehicles were rebadged as Veritas.

This unique look of 1950 BMW-Veritas was the work of Karosseriebau Hermann Spohn by using design inspiration from Harley Earl's Le Sabre concept car. It is an all-original example that is believed to have been returned to Spohn for modifications which included the installation of fender skirts and upper grille assembly in the nose and believed the car was constructed for an American Airforce pilot living in Germany.

This car was secluded in the late Lee Hartung Collection for over 50 years. Lee purchased the car in the early 1960s from R.J. Mrofka. Mrofka’s brother had brought the car to the United States from Germany in 1959. It remains in ‘as found’ condition, with only a mechanical rebuild.
In 2011, the car was offered for sale at the Lee Roy Hartung Collection auction presented by Auctions America. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $195,500 including the buyer's premium. The Karma SC2 is an amazing future supercar concept

Indeed, this supercar concept has been displayed by its maker Karma Automobile at the 2019 Los Angeles Car Show event which was held on November 22 to December 1, 2019. The automaker mentioned the Karma SC2 Concept offers an amazing form of a future supercar.

Although it is not yet known whether the Karma SC2 will become a legal road car model that will also be marketed on a massive scale, it cannot be denied that this supercar has indeed succeeded in attracting the attention of the world's car lovers who attended its debut in Los Angeles at the time.

Basically, this concept car is the successor of the Karma SC1 Vision Concept which has been present before and is an open coupe car. The difference, in this Karma SC2, Karma Automobile installed a proper roof. A number of features embedded in this new car are a powertrain that is capable of producing an average power of 1,100 horsepower so as to record an acceleration time from 0 to 100 km per hour in less than 2 secs.

The automaker claims that they are developing a battery that able to bring the car to a distance of 350 miles on a single charge with normal use. Besides that, the car's torque is also controlled by a computer to manipulate the power supplied to its wheels.

Behind the sleek and sexy appearance of the body with metallic silver paint that binds the whole body of the concept car on display for the first time at the Los Angeles Car Show, it turns out there are a number of other features of this car that are in the spotlight of visitors, one of which is the door. This concept car also has electronic features that are known to be widely used in premium cars today, such as cameras, proximity sensors, long-range radar sensors, heads up displays. The car also uses a showcase design feature known as playback mode, which allows computers, controls, and displays to present a real driving experience even if the car is at rest.

In this car is mounted the winglet style sensor plus cameras next to its doors, a place where usually a conventional car rearview mirrors are installed. Another unique thing about this car is that the headlight does not stand out, so it seems to blend into the front of the body so that it presents a smoother body contour.

Not only that, the car has a semi-square shaped steering wheel. In addition, this car also has a square headrest with sharp angles. At a glance, Karma SC2 looks like it has a "nose" section that is quite long with a short deck that is identical to the performance car. This car does have fairly low ground clearance. The result, the car has a futuristic look but still maintains an aggressive impression.

This car has a black semi-gloss roof that has an overhang at the top of the side and rear windows. Installation of this overhang is considered to provide an artistic touch but with a "squished" look. Inside the roof, there is also a headline which is said to have an inlay with optical fiber to enlarge the seat. The seat also has a biometric inlay for the customization of the passengers and drivers of this car.

As you can see the Karma SC2 does not have a grille on the front. Instead, Karma Automotive then installed a stylish scoop to the side. This scoop is claimed to help the process of brake cooling, and also makes the car look seem more aggressive and sporty.

The lower part of the rear of the car also has a scoop and channel that matches the scoop on the front, so for a moment, it reminds us of a typical Japanese drift car. Then the bonnet area has a simple moniker on the front center and also a scoop on the side where the fender meets the hood.
Karma SC2 indeed reaps a lot of praise thanks to the appearance of its final form is very riveting. The use of charcoal-colored alloy wheels with conventional low profile tires are well suited to brake rotors and calipers that display the end result that is always expected from a car that carries a futuristic theme like this.
Also reported, Karma SC2 has a technology called biometric entry lock from the outside, including fingerprint and facial recognition.
