Renault 5 come back alive into a new electric motor-drive

Unique ONES Recently, one of the French automotive manufacturers, Renault, intends to revive one of its legendary hatchback models, the Renault 5. And interestingly, the Renault 5 new model will be revived as a modern electric car. As quoted from Carscoops, the new Renault 5 will have a design that is very similar to its conventional engined predecessor car.

The Renault 5 prototype model which was later released has elegant and futuristic details on the lights and front fascia. Besides that, several changes in the car's function were made to suit the needs of modern electric-powered vehicles. For example, the grille is removed, then on top of the hood there is a charging port that is used for the battery recharging. The taillights are equipped with aero flaps and front fog lamps which can be used as DRL (Day Running Light) lights.

Then the electric-powered car prototype model also features a lit front and rear logo, and the car also appeared in dual tone exterior colors (yellow and black). Unfortunately, Renault has yet to reveal the car's interior, but it is confirmed that it has a small transparent screen above the dashboard.

The French car manufacturer also did not mention any details about the electric powertrain that would be used, including the amount of maximum power and car's cruise capability. But for sure, the new Renault 5 is designed as a pure electric-powered vehicle, which means there will be no hybrid variant also featured with an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) powertrain.

"The Renault 5 prototype design is based on our legacy model, the R5," said Gilles Vidal, the Design Director of Renault. "This prototype only embodies modernity, a vehicle that is relevant to its time: urban, electric, attractive," he continued.
Furthermore, the Renault 5 EV will join other Renault car models that are revived as the electric vehicles such as the Renault 4. Going forward, Renault wants 30 percent of its total sales to be electric vehicles by 2025. And environmentally friendly hatchback models such as the Renault 5 EV, will definitely have a big role in the environmentally friendly vehicle industry. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARSCOOPS ]

The '90s Gandini-designed Maserati Chubasco car prototype

Unique ONES Once again, We're back to one of the famous Italian automotive manufacturers, Maserati, which is known to have a line of great cars that had ever been colored the automotive world from the past to this day. As we all know, recently the Modena-based auto manufacturer has shocked the world's automotive by launching its newest supercar called the Maserati MC20.
The Maserati Chubasco Prototipo was built to be the car of every enthusiast’s dreams and was shaped by a pure passion for fast cars using the most sophisticated technologies the early Nineties had to offer. (Picture from http://bit.ly/36dlyCf)
Besides launching the latest supercar which is said to have promising performance so that it said able to thrill the hearts of its competitors neither on the roads and circuits. However in its business journey, the Italian automotive company has also produced many great cars that are adapted to the times when it was launched.

As in the 1950s when Maserati triumphed on the 24-Hours of Le Mans endurance racing circuit through a line of legendary racing cars based on the Maserati 450S to the Maserati 450S Costin-Zagato Coupe. Likewise, what happened four decades later, namely in the 1990s, the Modena-based company also launched several concept cars and one of them is the Maserati Chubasco which in our opinion is very thick with the design and technology of the nineties so that it deserves to be one of the iconic cars of the era.
The Maserati Chubasco designed by Marcello Gandini and featured three front intakes to channel air under the door and out through the rear bodywork. (Picture from http://bit.ly/36dlyCf)
As is well known, since 1975, Maserati has been acquired by Alejandro de Tomaso, and while in the '90s, the company (supported by large government investments) began to move away from its traditional production line of the exclusive high-performance cars. Initially, the Italian company relied on its future on the 1980s Bitubo models to compete with BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other premium car brands. The model was also projected as the firm's spearheading to re-enter the lucrative North American auto-market at the time.
The Maserati Chubasco Prototipo is very thick with the design and technology of the nineties so that it deserves to be one of the iconic cars of the era. (Picture from http://bit.ly/3sW4Elo)
Although at first it seemed to be going well, where sales figures for the Bitubo model were quite good, entering the mid to late 1980s the situation reversed and became even worse for lacking a flagship befitted the marque's heritage. That's why, in the early 1990s, the Italian company took steps to create a new supercar model that lived up to the marque's legacy. So then was born the Maserati Chubasco, the car's name is taken from the name of the fierce storm that occurred in Central and South America.
Maserati Chubasco Prototipo is built on a chassis structure consisting of an aluminum honeycomb central backbone with a ribbed light alloy subframe to carry the suspension and engine. (Picture from http://bit.ly/3iMescY)
Then a prototype was introduced by Maserati at a press conference in December 1990. It unveiled alongside the new Biturbo-based Shamal and two-litre Racing, the Chubasco was a completely new mid-engined two-seat sports coupe and as many as 450 units planned to be produced by those Italian company. And theoretically, the Chubasco could potentially be pitched a half-price rival to the Lamborghini Diablo and Ferrari Testarossa.

The Maserati Chubasco is built on a chassis structure consisting of an aluminum honeycomb central backbone with a ribbed light alloy subframe to carry the suspension and engine. Meanwhile, Marcello Gandini was responsible to its handsome designed bodywork and is mounted to the chassis with dampers that absorb vibrations and protect the cockpit from noise.
The Maserati Chubasco Prototipo is a mid-engined sports coupe with an uprated version of the 3.2 liter 32-valve 90° V8 Shamal's engine coupled with the six-speed manual transmission system. (Picture from http://bit.ly/3sW2LVQ)
The bodywork design pays close attention to airflow by creating three front intakes to channel air under the door and out through the rear bodywork. In addition to cooling the engine, it is also intended to enhance the ground-effect produced by a flat underside and rear venturi.

Besides it having an electric hard top that slides backwards over the engine, the Maserati Chubasco is also equipped with a pair of scissor doors like those of Lamborghini cars as its passenger-driver access to enter-exit the cabin. To add a finishing touch, body-coloured aero discs covered the split-rim five spoke wheels.
The Chubasco uses an uprated version of the 3.2 liter 32-valve 90° V8 Shamal's engine later also equipped with a dry-sumped, twin turbocharged and with dual overhead camshafts, so the engine is capable of delivering up to 430 bhp at 6,500 rpm (but no other technical details were released). Those engine power is then channeled to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission system with double plate clutch and limited slip differential.

Despite being very well received, the Chubasco program was later canceled by Fiat (which in January 1990 had acquired around 50% of Maserati shares) because it was considered too expensive to produce. Although only one unit was ever made as a prototype, the Chubasco chassis layout is still used as the basis for the Barchetta one-make racing car launched in 1992 and later became De Tomaso Guarà in 1993. Today the Maserati Chubasco Prototipo sat on display at the Panini Museo near Modena, Italy.

Apart from everything and it has absolutely nothing to do with one another. It's just our eyes wild imagination that the Maserati Chubasco concept car looks like has a similarity or design connection with a Shotaro Kaneda motorcycle red-cherry futuristic bike adopted from the 1988 classic Japanese sci-fi anime film titled 'Akira'. Is this the latest Hurtan's sports car that will debut on this year?

Let's WAIT! Alternately, crossover and electric powered vehicles have sprung up, perhaps making some of us feel bored. If you are one of those people who feel bored? Don't worry, you are not alone. We are also among those who feel bored.
The Hurtan Grand Albaycin, a Spanish retro sportscar concept uses the Mazda ND MX-5 as its platform and mimics the style of the 1960s British sports cars. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3pbfOjQ)
Now on this occasion we will discuss something very different and very special, of course. Maybe all this time you also never imagined what would happen if the Spanish design married to the Japanese technology.
The Hurtan Grand Albaycin sports car concept is caught by camera while under the road test with all over its body covered by special camouflage. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3pbfOjQ)
Now it will be seen in a new car model which is the result of the development of a Spanish car producer called Hurtan Automoviles. This new sports car mentioned above is actually under development, whose its shape cannot be fully seen because it's covered by special camouflage. But at first glance the car could be seen as a retro-style two-door sports coupe mimics to the 1960s British sports cars and called Hurtan Grand Albaycin.
The Hurtan Grand Albaycin sports car is the collaboration result between Hurtan Automoviles and VeryVip Cars and is inspired by the Hurtan's T2-Reedition concept car. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3sWxaDA)
Currently, the Spanish manufacturer is testing the car with what looks like a complete set of production packaging, covered with a special camouflage layer in all over its body. As you can see the car with the body covered in a layer of winter-style camouflage it seems to have managed to hide the small details, but we can still see the shape of the car which is a little chubby vehicle.
The Hurtan Grand Albaycin sportscar concept's front fascia is dominated by two large headlights that are placed almost parallel to the hood (could be said the company's typical style). (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3sWxaDA)
As quoted of Carbuzz, Hurtan Automoviles teamed up with VeryVip Cars on the development of this two-seater luxury sports car inspired by Hurtan's T2-Reedition concept car. Its front fascia is dominated by two large headlights that are placed almost parallel to the top of the hood (could be said the company's typical style), while underneath there is a small radiator grille which gives the car a very cheerful look.
It seem the Hurtan Grand Albaycin sports car concept's inside will be filled with a touch of luxury that is very classy. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3sWxaDA)
While its legs featured the muscular wheel arch hides large polished aluminum wheels. It also gives the impression that the Hurtan coupe overall appearance reminds us at first glance of Wiesmann's car. Then it shifts to the rear, where the design looks smoother with a pair of round taillights and a quad chrome-layered exhaust system.
The Hurtan Grand Albaycin sportscar concept's legs featured the muscular wheel arch hides large polished aluminum wheels. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3sWxaDA)
And as quoted of Carscoops, the Hurtan new sports coupe will be based on the Mazda platform, and, most likely will use an engine sourced from the Japanese car manufacturer. The company also said the sports car will be built two different styles, ie Cabrio and Targa bodystyles.
The Spanish automaker is assembling each of the Hurtan Grand Albaycin sports cars according to the right specifications for its customers and released local pricing starts of €59,000 (about US$72,900). (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3sWxaDA)
Both are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. And for the smaller one has a 132 horsepower drivetrain of the 1.5 liter engine, while the bigger one is 2.0 liter with an output of 184 horsepower.
For the second variant, there will be an automatic gearbox optionally available. If all goes according to plan, the Hurtan sports coupe should launch in the first quarter of 2021. The Spanish automaker is assembling each of those cars according to the right specifications for its customers. And as quoted of Carscoops, this Spanish retro sportscar priced starting of €59,000 (about US$72,900 or Rp. 1.024 billion). *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | HURTAN.COM | MOTOR1 | CARBUZZ | MOTOR.ES | CARSCOOPS ]

We should not to forget Bandini's

Unique ONES Who's Bandini? Maybe that's what immediately came to your mind when you saw this article. He is an Italian gentleman who is one of the many Italians who take part in the automotive world. Well, in the world's automotive, there are many individual wore the Bandini as their family names, ranging from the racers, technicians and car designers to even sports vehicle manufacturer owners. Then who is this going to discuss?
The Bandini 1100 Siluro of the 1951 uses a modified Fiat 1100 engine, the body made of hand-hammered aluminum and its chassis of aviation-grade tubular steel. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39NB9tj)
On this occasion we will discuss about Ilario Bandini, who was born as a farmer's son in Forli, Italy in 1911. He only had an education from a mechanic course before establishing an automotive company after his family name, Bandini Automobili in 1938, he proudly called himself an inventor and car builder. As we all know, he taught himself from experience, made some inventions later patented by him, and as an engineer earned an Honoris Causa degree from an American university
.

Besides that he has also been a tough racer behind the wheel of a racing car created by his team and won many races, especially in the hillclimb events, and noted has won the national SCCA championship (class H Modified) in the 1955 and 1957. He has also taken part in the classic racing events of Mille Miglia from 1947 to 1965.

In the world of racing, Bandini has been around for almost more than 75 years since 1947 filled mostly with the variety of small racing cars that were so popular in the post-war era, but there are also some amazing sports coupes and touring cars.

Although the Bandini Automobili was not big company and only had 15 mechanics worked in there, they were able to build one car a month during its heyday in the 1950s. His first car was the Bandini Siluro which featured a modified Fiat 1100 engine, the body made of hand-hammered aluminum and its chassis of aviation-grade tubular steel.
The Bandini 750 Sport Siluro featured with a widened front fender and a shrill loudly screaming 750cc engine managed to won the SCCA class championships in 1955 and 1957. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39NB9tj)
The light of success began to emerge as the car demands from America increased when the Bandini Siluro featured with a widened front fender and a shrill loudly screaming 750cc engine managed to won the SCCA class championships in 1955 and 1957. And his slightly modified Crossley engine became famous thanks to their DOHC Bandini heads.
1955 Bandini 750 Coupe Zagato sports car ever raced in the Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring events. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39NB9tj)
The Bandini-owned automotive company is said in 1954 made the Formula 3 racing car had disc brakes on all four wheels, followed by the 1951 Jaguar C-type. Then the Zagato-bodied Bandini GT racing car raced in Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, and another coupé version is worked by Corna and carries a 1,000cc engine up front.
1957 Bandini Sports International 'Saponeta' was a striking body design two-seater sports car (that's why it called saponeta) and tubular steel frame which is able to accommodate the space of the engines up to 1.0 liter. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39NB9tj)
While in the era, Bandini himself continued to race in Italy while his new cars were being built and developed at the factory. One of these included the Bandini Sports International 'Saponeta' (or 'Little Soap') of the 1957 was a two-seater sports car with a striking body design (that's why it called saponeta) and tubular steel frame which is able to accommodate the space of the engines up to 1.0 liter
.
1968 Bandini 1000 Saloncino plays an important role in the production history of Bandini Automobili, as the company's first sports coupé. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39NB9tj)
Although Bandini's cars mostly use the Fiat's upgraded engines, he has also built many cars with American Crossley engines. In the Bandini's era in between 1947 and 1952, the four-cylinder engine mentioned above wasn't old-fashioned. The engine had upper camshafts which were driven by a standing shaft, and often Bandini provided the Crossley-engine with a self-made cylinder head with with two camshafts and another crank-shaft, also made by himself of course.
The Bandini 1000 Turbo is a hand-built berlinetta, built in 1992 by Ilario Bandini as his last design and represents the ultimate evolutionary step of his long career as well. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/35ZWEG7)
In 1959, he completed Bandini engines ranging from 850cc to 1,000cc (1,300cc 16-valve) and completed his final 1,000cc 16-valve supercharged engine in 1991 when he was 80 years olds (a year before he passed in 1992). Apart from making machines and cars, it turns out that the Bandini company also endorsed the steering wheels from the 1960s, and the wheels from the 1970s, all handmade and signed by Bandini.

Even in 1960, Bandini had ever built the engine in 7 different versions ranging from 760cc to 1300cc. Amazingly, when the mid-engined cars became a trend, Bandini was one of the first to make them in these ways (in the style of spider and coupé) for used on the circuits or the sporting weekend driver.
Bandini Automobili continued to make one-off cars well into the 1980s, and today it is believed there are still around 46 units of the Bandini-made cars of all types still existed. To tribute all of his achievements in the world's racing, the city of Forli in Italy (his hometown) dedicated a plaza (town square) in 2002 to Ilario Bandini to bear his name and called Piazzale Ilario Bandini. It's amazing, someone who has so many talents like him is very rare. So it is not surprising that today his figure has become one of the legends and the role models of the racing world. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS OSURCES | CARTYPE | WIKIPEDIA ]

An awkward-designed Abarth 750 Coupe Goccia

UNiQue ONES By 1956, Abarth had built a wide reputation as the main tuner for the engines of the cars made by Fiat and began venturing into the world of racing at that time in several classes of motor sport. For example to compete in the 750 cc class of the Grand Touring Championship. In mid-1956 Abarth commissioned the Zagato body to make a new design of the Fiat body into a capable racing car.
1956 Fiat Abarth 750 Coupe Goccia by Vignale as an aerodynamics study with the ambition to set world speed records in its class by using an Abarth modified engine. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3iAMKzN)
Then became the typical Fiat Abarth 750 Zagato Coupe with double-bubles on top. It was proven later that this car was able to achieve amazing achievements in the racing world as expected. Not only that, it turns out that Abarth also commissioned another coachbuilder in this case, Vignale to make the body of the Fiat/Abarth 750 car as an alternative to the model made by Zagato above and suitable for racing.
1956 Fiat Abarth 750 Coupe Goccia by Vignale as an aerodynamics study with the ambition to set world speed records in its class by using an Abarth modified engine. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3iAMKzN)
Then as many as three cars were built in such a way as to transform into a car named Fiat Abarth 750 Coupe Goccia in 1957. A very original Coupé built on top of the Fiat/Abarth 750, adopting a design that was said to have high aerodynamic qualities so that its appearance became eccentric, and when completed, it was able to attract a lot of attention. While the 'goccia' is an Italian word means 'water droplet in contact with a surface.'

The first completed unit was then shown at the 1956 Geneva Show which featured gull-wing doors, while the other two featured conventional doors and received many other modifications. This somewhat eccentric and unconventional design was created by Giovanni Michelotti together with the Abarth 750 mechanics.
1956 Fiat Abarth 750 Coupe Goccia by Vignale as an aerodynamics study with the ambition to set world speed records in its class by using an Abarth modified engine. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3oWQYnQ)
Through this design, the Abarth 750 Goccia also marks another beginning in Vignale's history. Both Abarth's expertise in designing fine, highly tuned engines and Vignale's expertise in building lightweight aerodynamic bodywork come together in the form of this awkward vehicle.
1956 Fiat Abarth 750 Coupe Goccia by Vignale as an aerodynamics study with the ambition to set world speed records in its class by using an Abarth modified engine. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3iuFqWk)
Wow, 1957 Fiat Abarth 750 Coupe 'Goccia' by Vignale, a cute car made as an aerodynamics study with the ambition to set world speed records in its class by using an Abarth modified engine. But unfortunately there is no effort to market this car.

Then what about the performance? This cute Italian car is able to run fast using the power generated by a Fiat 747cc inline, four-cylinder engine attached to the rear of the car (because of its eccentric shape, we hope you are not confused about which one is front and rear).
The engine is capable of spraying out a peak power of 47 bhp at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 36lb-ft at 3,500rpm. With this amount of power, this cute car that weighs 1,212 lbs is able to accelerate from rest to 60mph in 15.8 seconds with a top speed of 93mph plus fuel consumption of 25mpg. And it is estimated that the current price tag of this car is around $ 3,500. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARSTYLING | OLDCONCEPTCARS | CARTHROTLE | FIAT500OWNERS | ]
