Proven, the water flows on Mars today!

It's clear and irrefutable, the water flows on Mars today! Water flowed on the red planet during the summer. But if you drink the water it will cause thirst. Therefore brine.

The conclusion that water flowed on Mars at this time obtained after scientists at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) who analyzed the unique image photographed by the camera on the Mars Reconaissance Orbitter (MRO) spacecraft.

The MRO imagery showed a line pattern that increasingly recede and fan pattern on a steep cliff in the valleys and craters of Mars. The pattern is a sign of the water that flows down the valley or Recurring Slope Lineae (RSL).

Scientists do not yet know with certainty the source of the water. The water could have come from the ice below the surface, a source of salt water in the aquifer layer, or is the result of condensation of the thin Martian atmosphere.

"(It's Clear), there is a liquid water on the surface of Mars today," said Michael Meyer, head of NASA's space exploration program. "Therefore, we estimate that there is an environment that supports the existence of life today."

"Mars is not a dry planet as previously thought," said Jim Green, another NASA scientist, as quoted by The Guardian on Monday, September 28, 2015.

NASA's findings indicate that the wet Mars in the past. In the 1970s, NASA photographed the Mars region allegedly is a former river and the areas that were previously located under the waters.

Then, earlier this year NASA revealed that in the past, Mars had oceans. Allegedly, the ocean it is located in the northern hemisphere.

However, a number of other findings indicate that Mars not only wet in the past but also the present. Nearly a decade ago, the Mars Global Surveyor photographed signs of flowing water on the Martian rocks.

In 2011, MRO revealed the signs of water flowing on the cliffs of Mars in late spring and early autumn. Water mark that is called RSL.

The present findings confirm that Mars today still has water. The results of chemical analysis by (color-based) spectrometric techniques show it.

Lujendra Ojha from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta using spektronmetri to see the reflection of infrared light from the surface of Mars when the line pattern began to emerge and when fully developed.

Research results published in the journal Nature Geoscience that revealed the existence of a hydrated salt molecules (has interacted with water) on the surface of Mars. Hydrated salt, such as chlorate and perchlorate, a clear sign of the presence of water at this time. There are four locations found water flow, which in the crater Hale, Palikir, Horowitz as well as in the Coprates Chasma valley.

Water flows along the salt molecule Mars when the temperature is higher than 23 degrees Celsius. Water is able to flow at very cold temperatures it because it has been mixed with salt so that its melting point is lower.

"The earlier mystery is what allows the salt to flow? Maybe the water but until now could not be ascertained," said Meyer.

"From this study, we revealed that the RSL is formed because of the salt that interacts with the water to form salt water that flows down the cliff," he added.

Findings the signs of flowing water on Mars today makes Scientists are increasingly convinced that Mars store in the form of microbial life. "The locations where water flows found probably the best place to look for life that still exist on the surface of Mars," said Alfred McEwen, a planetary expert at the University of Arizona who was involved in the research.
"While it is important to find life on Mars in the past, it is very difficult to understand biology. The life that exist today will be more informative," he added.

John Bridge, a professor of planetary science at the University of Leicester, said these findings could be clues to uncover the source of water. There, life can be found. He said that this findings is very interesting. "Our Mars changed now and we will continue to discuss it later," he said. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE GUARDIAN]

An Electric Motorcycle with Classic Style

If we talk about electric motorcycles, probably the thing  will crossed on your mind is those motorbike should has a futuristic shape and blazingly fast. But, there's nothing wrong if the electric motorcycles are made in a classic style and could be appeared in cool and unique shape.
A Swiss customiser gives the classic motorbike design a dramatic 21st Century electric makeover named SineCycle. (Picture from: http://bbc.in/1FD2flb)
Through the creative and skillful hands of Bruno Forcella who dismissed the notion that electric-powered vehicles should have a futuristic design. As quoted from BBC Autos on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, he has developed an electric motorcycle with old-school chopper style.

Here are several pictures of SineCycle. (All pictures taken from: http://bbc.in/1FD2flb)

Bruno Forcella is a former electrical engineer from Switzerland. He called his electric motorcycle with the name 'SineCycle' and built on a hardtail frame called "The Heist" by US-based Cleveland Cyclewerks, the bike is a customiser’s dream project.

The electric motorcycle is made with a low handlebar position. Additionally, SineCycle equipped with 21-inch front wheels and 18-inch on rear. A handmade saddle, modified fender and faux fuel tank also adorn this electric motorcycle. These electric motorcycle then painted in Mercedes silver color.

The SineCycle is a one-off for the moment, and not yet street-legal, it driven by a 2.8 kWh permanent magnet motor from Zero Motorcycles. And then those power transmitted to the rear wheels via direct belt drive. Forcella lists the top speed as 75 mph or 120 km/h, but a range of only 35 miles or 56 km makes for a very short joyride.
At least, Forcella has proven that modification of motor vehicle not only to pollute the environment. In fact, the motorcycle modification can also be more loving environment with the birth of SineCycles, an electric motorcycle with old-school chooper style. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SINECYCLES | BBC]

This sophisticated seat can check the driver's stress level

The development of vehicle technology is increasingly rapidly. Not just about the car's engine but research and development continues to develop other components, such as car seats.
The 'Active Wellness' seat (pictured) has built-in biometric sensors to detect if a driver is lacking energy or is under stress – and responds by offering a suitable massage and blowing air through its ventilation system. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1P4V47g)
Faurecia, a French automotive components company, creating a smart seat coded 'Active Wellness'. Remarkably, this seat can check the condition and the driver's level of stress or the person sitting on it.
The sensors in the seat (illustrated left) detect a driver's heart rhythms and breathing patterns and the data is used to trigger fans (right) to blow our air and motors to give the driver a massage. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1P4V47g)
"Active Wellness presented to provide maximum comfort. The basic thing we do is to monitor breathing and heart rate to determine the condition of people who are sitting," explained Olaf Biedermann, Director of Innovation Faurecia, as quoted by Reuters.
A diagram showing the functions of the seat including 'fatigue and stress correction' is shown above. The sensors in the seat are built by American company Hoana Medical and used exclusively by Faurecia. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1P4V47g)
Once the smart seat knowing the condition of the person sitting, then the treatment will be given a smart seat is going to be adjusted. If the person is stressed it will be given a relaxing massage, but if the person is tired then it will be given a strong massage.
It takes about five years to develop the seat. Reportedly Active Wellness will be marketed in 2020, but unfortunately the price for a seat is still a secret. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FAURECIA | DAILYMAIL | REUTERS]

5 types of fish often called as the 'Dragon fish'

Often many people call a dragon fish from its physical characteristics. The fish does have some distinctive characteristics of a dragon.

Here are 5 types of fish are often called dragon fish:

1. Palmas fish
Palmas fish, a fish included to the Family Polypteridae (Bichir), it means a lot finned fish. Palmas fish is called dragon fish because it is physically similar to the dragon in Chinese legend.

These fish include primitive fish and often referred to as "snake like fish". The spread of these fish are in West Africa. Palmas fish are predatory fish, Carnivora. Then the fish has the ability to take the air with an organ that has been modified in such a way to resemble the lungs, besides that it was able to creep on the ground by using a strong chest fins.

2. Axolotl
Axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) is a type of salamander who spent his life in the form of larvae. This unique exotic animals sometimes referred to as "Mexican Walking Fish" because it looks like a fish that has the hands and feet. However, Axolotl is not actually a kind of fish, but a type of salamander found in Mexico City. The body length of Axolotl can reach 30 cm, but the average size of only 15 cm.

Their body color are black or brown and average more albino with pink. These funny animal has gills that are outside its body. Gills seems to be on the side of its head so that at first glance looks like a horn.

Eastern people often create a fantasy that is associated with the dragon legend, so they are often referred to as a dragon fish. Axolotl is one animal that has longevity, Axolotl can live up to 10-15 years and can grow up to 60 cm.

In fact, there were ever caught a giant Axolotl in the interior of Mexico that has a body length of up to 1.4 meters, the discovery was really shocking, but after carefully studied by experts that only abnormal rare situations (gigantism).

3. Arowana
Arowana including the "ancestor" fish families, ie fish families Osteoglasidae or "bony-tongue," because the base of the mouth in the form of bone that serves as the teeth. Arowana have various nicknames, such as: Ikan naga (Dragon Fish), Barramundi, Saratoga, PlaTapad, indolent, Siluk, Kayangan, Peyang, Tangkelese, Aruwana, or Arowana, depending on its place.

The shape and appearance arowana is including a gorgeous and unique. Its body elongated, slender, and "stream line", with swimming movements are very graceful. Arowana in nature have a variety of colors such as green, silver, or red. At the lower lip there are two antennae that serve as a vibration sensor to determine the position of prey on the water surface.

In nature they swim near the water surface to hunt for prey. Arowana can accept all types of feed for carnivorous fish, but often they are so very fond of one type of feed only, and reject other types.

4. Arapaima
These fish include close relatives with arowana, the Amazon arapaima which is sometimes regarded as the largest freshwater fish in the world. According to the initial description, this fish can grow up to 4.5 meters in length, but now, individuals are very big like this is rare and the average adult arapaima found that only 2 meter length.
Arapaima. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1KK8uCz)
The slow-moving predators and eat small fish, and anything that small could fit their mouth. An interesting feature of this fish is that they need the oxygen from the air, in order to survive. Arapaimas harmless to humans and are often hunted for their meat, unfortunately, they are very rare nowadays. Although arapaima seem to appear in the Miocene, but they get much older relatives, namely Osteoglossidae, and its origins can be traced back to the age of dinosaurs.

5. Oarfish
Oarfish include to the family Regalecidae which has four species. One of the species Regalecus Glesne, ever get into the Guinness Book of World Records since been found in living conditions with a body length of up to 11 meters (36 feet).
This fish has a single fin is red and includes fish loner. But when these fish are sick or dying, it looks like the loner does not want to die in loneliness. So it went up to the sea surface and survived there until the death. Perhaps to draw the attention of the sailors, or just want to look at the sun for the last time.

The sailors of the past may have seen this fish on the surface and perceive it as a sea monster. For example, in 1860, when a 5-meter long Oarfish beached in Bermuda, the residents immediately linked with the legendary sea monster. Some scientists believe that it is likely there an Oarfish whose size exceeds 11 meters, but until now no one has proved it. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | ]

Only with wood, this man managed to create his dream cars

A 63-year-old man succeeded in creating a car that is made of wood. Cars built since 2002, is named 'Splinter' could operate Like a conventional vehicle. As reported by Barcroft Cars on Thursday, October 1st, 2015, this car was first made by Isaac Cohen in the age of 50. "I spent 13 to 14 hours a day to make Splinter. But everything comes from my heart," he said.
Splinter - Isaac's first all wood car that took him more than 5,000 hours to build. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1Vtr04J)
The car that has been given the green light to be able to roam on the highway (aka road-legal vehicle) was created from the wood cubes glued, and shaped in such a way according to Cohen's imagination. Everything is done in his workshop in Houston, Texas.

Of course, a part of these cars spend different amount of woods. The steering wheel for example, is made of 260 pieces of wood, 90 pieces of gear shift, and even key grip made of 60 pieces of wood. As some parts that are not made of wood such as the dashboard, seats, engine compartment, lights, glass, until the chair. The rest, as seen in the picture above, all made of wood.

After completing work, the car which he regarded as a masterpiece, Cohen re-create similar cars. For example, he is making a small version of the Splinter. "I made a mini Splinter because I do not know anymore what to do after the completion of the first car," added Cohen.
Isaac also has a mini version of his car Splinter, the Lil Splinter, and a fighter jet truck. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1Vtr04J)
What was done Cohen certainly attract many people. Some of them admitted that the work of these men are willing to pay a high price. But, he vowed never to sell his wooden car. "But I was ever give one (Slider), for charity," said Cohen.
Once the wooden car project is finished, he also plans to continue to make another. Cohen claimed interested in making two-wheeled vehicles. "Some engineers say it's impossible, but I will try to do," he concluded. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BARCROFT CARS]
