The oldest crystals formed from an Asteroid

Some pieces of the oldest rocks on Earth have been discovered, and named Zircon crystals. The researchers also found that the old stones are formed in the crater of which came from the asteroid at the time of the initial formation of the planet. The Zircon crystals are older than 4 billion years, while the Earth itself has an age of 4.5 billion years. And this ancient crystal is arguably in the history of planet Earth.

Fifteen years ago, the first crystal had been made the headlines when the research going into the rock formations that revealed the presence of water on the surface of the Earth after the planet formed. Since the study was published, scientists hope the Zircon crystals can give another answers about the history of this planet.

Previously, the scientists believed that Zircon crystals formed when tectonic plates collide, in a process similar to the disorder that creates the mountains, volcanic activity and earthquakes. However, most researchers believe, the stone was originated of tectonic plates about 3 billion years ago. Thus, Zircon crystals formed about 1 billion years before the tectonic plates can create the stones.

In a recent study conducted by Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, the investigators pursuing the hypothesis that crystals formed in the crater that was created when an asteroid hit the Earth. To test their idea, then the researchers collected the Zircon crystals from Sudbury crater in Ontario, Canada, which have confirmed the second oldest on Earth nearly two billion years old.

"What we found was quite surprising. Many people think the zircon crystals are very old-fashioned not possibly have been formed in the crater, but now we know they may choose," said Gavin Kenny, a researcher from Trinity College Dublin and co-author of the study, as reported by LiveScience on Friday, May 6, 2016.

The impact of this asteroid is made Earth's crust to melt and form a lava lake. Most of the area around the crater heated and starting to cold, on condition that allows the Zircon undergone a process of crystallization.

"Our new findings would fill more than what we know about the Earth," said Kenny further. By determining the origin of the crystals will help the scientists gather how the planet was form in the beginning and how the life began to emerge on the Earth. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LIVESCIENCE]

In Paris, the company will be presented the electric version of the Mirrow Provocator for private users. This smart car has a quite unique shape because it comes with carrying a tubular chassis and made of the recycled polymer materials. By using these materials, automatically the car body would be effective to absorb at the same time channeled the energy that comes from the collision.

Not only that, another uniqueness of Mirrow Provocator is the car deliberately designed with the highest level of safety and comfort, thanks to the rally car-inspired cage. Mirrow Provocator has a length similar to the Smart ForTwo (2.7 m), but can accommodate 4 people with luggages in it. Its height and width could be comparable with a large SUV (height: 2.05 m and width: 1.98 m).

As mentioned in our previous article, the access for driver and passengers in the car using the door (1.70 x 0.60 m) located at the rear side of the vehicle. In particular, the door construction is purposely designed to protect this door from blocking by another car in case of parking along the sidewalk.

Looking into the interior, Mirrow Provocator looks very minimalist like in the minivan, but the driver's position behind the wheel and the front passenger are close to the Mercedes E-class. In the basic version of the car will be equipped with seat belts with three or four attachment points, and as an option will be available to any of the modern active systems such as airbags, ABS, ESP, etc.

Besides developed as a vehicle for private user, it can also be developed as business vehicles such as a compact urban food-truck, logistic vehicle for postal services and elongated on 70 cm taxi for 6 persons. Here are several pictures of them;

Due to the use of recycled polymer material will ease the fabricated process, so it can reduce the cost of production, the estimated selling price for the basic version of the Mirrow Provocator range between €3,500 to €4,500.

The company expects to bring the smart car project to a new higher level and after 1.5 - 2 years the Mirrow Provocator can be seen on city streets in various parts of the world. And of course also more benefit for the community, because the smart car is made with the purpose to reducing congestion and solving the problem of lack of parking, etc. See you in the Paris Motor Show next October 2016!! *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MIRROWCARS]
