An Australian infamous gang boss shown off a gold-plated V-Rod Chopper

Gold-plated BIKE The existence of elegant classy vehicles are sometimes used by the owners as a status symbol of their wealth, even more so when it is also coated with gold. Usually, those who are often display such classy gold-plated vehicles usually come from wealthy businessmen, oil tycoons or those who hold the status of billionaires, but this one rather different.
Regular models of the collectors' special - which has now been discontinued - are currently on sale in Australia for up to $100,000. (Picture from: TipBlogg)
As quoted from DailyMail, recently there's an Australian's notorious Comanchero gang leader named Allan Meehan has shown what he said as his new ride on his personal Instagram pages. As seen from the ride's appearance, that's a flashy custom-built Harley Davidson V-Rod with a Comanchero paint job and an eye-catching gold-plated frame and engine.

All of a sudden, this made it goes viral in cyberspace, not only because of the beautiful gold sparkles on some parts of the motorcycle, it's also because the standard Harley-Davidson V-Rod motorcycle was known as a discontinued rare collector's item, and in Australia, currently being offered for up to US $100 thousands.
Meehan took to Instagram to reveal the machine in a video story showcasing its custom club colours design, to the soundtrack of Wiz Khalifa's Black and Yellow. (Picture from: TipBlogg)
Meehan’s new bike is a classic that is in great demand among Harley-Davidson enthusiasts as many used now cost more than new. It was in production between 1999 and 2017 and features a 1,131cc or 1,247cc engine developed along with Porsche that produces between 115 and 125 hp. Its belt-driven fat rear tire is designed to accelerate riders to 100 kph in under four seconds before hitting a top speed of more than 200 kph.
Motorcycle experts say the gold finish and unique paint design make the stunning bike virtually priceless. (Picture from: TipBlogg)
The motorcycle designed to compete with the Japanese and American muscle bikes, it featured liquid cooling and dual overhead cams in a quirk of the design, the 'fuel tank' is actually the cover for the coolant fitting and air cleaner, with the gasoline actually being stored under the seating area. Motorcycle Cruiser rated it a winner, adding, "The V-Rod was meant to bring in more than the usual suspects, and it did."

This extraordinary motorcycle is embellished by an elegant black color combination with gold finish on the giant handlebars that transforms its original drag racer looks into classic chopper style with a pair of flashy gold wheels, glittering belt guard and gold engine casing. Even the kickstand, brakes, clutch, gear lever and footrest are gold-plated, though it's unclear if they're real gold-plated or golden chrome only.
The tank and seats are jet black with two parallel stripes in the club's signature yellow, embossed with 'Comanchero' and tattoo-styled demonic skulls, while the seats have the club badge. The motorcycle seemly registered in New South Wales according to the license plate attached to the fender, but the number is hidden by black tape. And according to some motorcycle experts, that unique gold finish and paint design further makes this stunning V-Rod custom bike almost priceless.

The most expensive classic rare motorcycle

Rare ONES If you think that the most expensive motorcycle in the world is a modern motorcycle with high-tech features, or a gold-plated unit, then you are wrong. It turns out that this is the 1908 Harley-Davidson Model 4 'Strap Tank' which is touted as the world's most expensive rare motorbike today. The classic iron horse sold for $850,000 or the equivalent of Rp.13 billion at an auction event organized by Mecum Auctions in Las Vegas back in January 2023.

This is a legendary unit that included the first generation of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. And of the 450 produced in 1908 by the Milwaukee-based motorcycle manufacturer, it is estimated that fewer than a dozen remain today. Moreover of course, the number of units that are in good condition as auctioned is even more less. Besides that, this rare motorbike also has an interesting pedigree, making it one of the best of its kind available today. It is thought this is the earliest model ever found so far, as the prototype is long gone.

The story of this motorcycle model began in 1901 when William S. Harley, who was then 20 years old, together with his best friend Arthur Davidson built a 116 cc single-cylinder engine in Milwaukee. And it took two years to build the first engine which was then mounted on a bicycle chassis. Then they enlarged the engine to 405 cc after getting advice from legendary marine engineer Ole Evinrude.

These second project of them was completed in September 1904 and had used to race at the Milwaukee State Fair Park. At the time, their iron horse was ridden by Edward Hildebrand and was able to finish in fourth place. In the following year, Harley-Davidson comenced production in a small wooden shed with only five engines were built at the time. These first production engines were enlarged to 440 cc, and could only produce about 4 hp, which was a pretty good burst of power in that day.

Entering 1906, the company built a new factory in Chestnut Street, which later renamed to Juneau Avenue and is still Harley-Davidson's headquarters to this day. From there about 50 motorbikes were built from the single-story building. Its first model was known as the Harley-Davidson Strap Tank because the nickel-plated steel bands suspending the fuel and oil tanks from the frame.

One year later the factory could build around 150 machines. And in 1908 production jumped to 450 machines. Although Harley-Davidson wasn't the biggest manufacturer in the time, the Strap Tank has earned a good reputation for toughness. These earliest models of the Harley-Davidson Strap Tank is the most coveted unit of all Milwaukee machinery. They have a pattern that still persists today, by combining a clean but conservative style, a somber color scheme, and a slightly heftier engine than the others.

And this 1908 Harley-Davidson Strap Tank motorcycle unit that was auctioned is known to be one of the world's rarest motorbikes, it was found by David Uihlein in 1941 in complete condition in a Wisconsin barn which is only about 70 miles from Milwaukee, then Uihlein kept it in his home for the next 66 years.

Furthermore, this 1908 Harley-Davidson Strap Tank motorcycle has been restored in detail with the help of Paul Freehill of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Amazingly, the tank, wheels, engine belt pulley, seat cover, exhaust sleeve are all pristine, and even its engine number #2241 and carburetor #1049 are still printed and clearly visible. Then it finished under a gray color touch plus a red accent line.

When the hammer dropped at the auction event, this 1908 Harley-Davidson Strap Tank sold at a bid price of $850,000. But its new owner had to spend about $935,000 after the bid-price added by auction fees and other taxes.
Actually, this is not the first Strap Tank ever sold by Mecum Auctions in Las Vegas. Previously the auction company had sold the 1907 Harley-Davidson Strap Tank for $297,000 or Rp.4.5 billion. But the newly released of 1908 unit has a well-documented history, coupled with the motorcycle unit still had 115 years olds original parts. So it's undoubtly, this 1908 Harley-Davidson Strap Tank is a truly exceptional machine.

The world's most expensive modified Harley Davidson motorcycle

BlueONE In the world's automotive, the word of modification is certainly like the word used daily. Modification is a thing that is very popular with automotive lovers, besides giving a cool impression on the vehicle we have, the modified vehicle is also able to make other people amaze.
Harley Davidson-Blue Edition by Bucherer 1888 dubbed as the world's most expensive modified motorcycle. (Picture from: Bucherer)
One of the motorcycle builders from Switzerland named Bündnerbike who collaborated with Bucherer (the famous Swiss watchmaker and jewelery specialist) had been modified the Harley Davidson Softail Slim S motorcycle.

What makes this motorcycle amazing is the price of the modified motorcycle that surpasses the price of the motorcycle itself! Just imagine, to modify this HD motorcycle, they spend up to US. $1.8 million or around Rp.25 billion.

As we all knew that the HD motorbike alone in standard condition is already quite expensive, then coupled with cool modifications.

It can be ascertained that the motorcycle will appear very elegant plus an expensive sold prices as well.

The modified Harley motorcycle was named Harley Davidson-Blue Edition. Unfortunately, many automotive observers say that these motorbikes are not suitable run on the streets and more suitable to be a millionaire's display items.

To make this one-off motorcycle, a team of eight people spent a total of 2,500 hours or approx 3 months. Because the details attached on this motorbike have a high standard of workmanship and added with a diamond sprinkling on each side.

The engine is lit from within by heat-resistant LEDs, giving a glittering view of the gold-plated throttle valves. But the craziest feature of all is visible from the cowhide saddle as you look down on the fuel tank. There are around 360 diamonds embedded on these motorcycle, even the bolts and some types of screws are also 24K gold plated.

So it is natural, if there are those who argue that this motorcycle is more suitable for display only than used on the streets, not to mention the risk of these motorbikes being targeted by criminals or other dangerous risks.
Just for info, previous title holder of the most expensive motorcycle ever made was 1951 Vincent Black Lighting which was able to sell at prices of US $929,000 at the auction conducted at Bonhams in Las Vegas. Despite having exorbitant prices, these motorbikes can still be used on the streets. (Click here, if you wanna see another expensive motorcycles.) Are you want to bring these $1.8 million motorcycle to be one of your display items in the living room?

BMS Nehme-sis: A Gold-Plated Yamaha Like No Other

Golden Masterpiece - In the ever-evolving world of custom motorcycles, creativity often walks hand-in-hand with tradition. For decades, Harley-Davidson has dominated the chopper scene, setting the tone for what a custom bike should look and feel like. But every now and then, something radically different roars into view — something that redefines expectations and breaks the mold. That something is the BMS Nehme-sis.

Rather than following the usual American V-twin template, the Nehme-sis begins its life as a Yamaha Road Star, a bold departure that immediately sets it apart. In the U.S., this makes it a "metric" chopper — a rare breed in a space so heavily influenced by American brands. But make no mistake, this bike is anything but ordinary. Built in 2006, the Nehme-sis was the brainchild of Sam Nehme, the man behind Florida’s Broward Motorsports and its custom wing, BMS Choppers. Sam didn’t just build a bike — he created a rolling piece of mechanical art.

From the moment it debuted, the Nehme-sis turned heads. It became the first metric chopper ever to win the coveted Rats Hole Custom Bike Show at Biketoberfest, a competition with over three decades of history. And this wasn’t just a one-off achievement. Its impact resonated worldwide, especially after its stunning appearance at the CRC Speedshow in Auckland, New Zealand in 2013, where local enthusiasts were left speechless by its beauty and engineering.
Right side of BMS Nehme-sis. (Picture from: MotorcycleSpecs.co.za)
The visual appeal of Nehme-sis is undeniable. It's the world’s first motorcycle to be entirely plated in 24-karat gold. Measuring an impressive 3.5 meters in length, the chopper offers a singular red velvet-covered seat, sculpted to provide comfort without compromising on elegance. Only a few traces of the original Yamaha remain — the 1,700cc engine, engine mounts, and part of the frame neck that retains the VIN. Everything else was painstakingly handcrafted from scratch.

And when we say handcrafted, we mean it. Labor costs alone for building Nehme-sis hit a staggering $250,000 — not including the gold plating, custom parts, or paint. The engineering behind its radical form is just as impressive as its golden surface. Take the one-sided front “fork,” for instance. Milled from a solid billet of aluminum and extending over a meter, it's a fully functional piece of precision machinery. Pair that with an air-ride suspension system that allows the entire bike to lift by 25 centimeters or lower flat onto the ground, and you’ve got a ride that doesn’t even need a kickstand.
Nehme-sis's red-velvet saddle which designed so perfectly that make its rider felt comfortable and more classy on it. (Picture from: MotorcycleSpecs.co.za)
The rear of the bike is no less spectacular. A massive 360mm tire, sourced from Vee Rubber, is hugged by a seamlessly integrated LED lighting system in the fender’s edge. A single-sided swingarm continues the minimalist, futuristic feel, while also housing its part of the air suspension. What’s equally clever is the electronic grip shifter — instead of a traditional gear lever, the rider shifts gears by rotating the left handgrip, which can also toggle the suspension system. Combined with an automatic clutch, it makes for an ultra-clean design free of unnecessary cables and levers.

But what truly sets the Nehme-sis apart isn’t just its looks or tech — it’s the soul that went into building it. Sam Nehme and his team didn’t just aim for innovation; they pushed for something timeless. A bike like this doesn’t come around often. It’s a fusion of luxury, performance, and imagination, elevated into something that feels more like sculpture than machine.
Nearly two decades after its creation, the Nehme-sis still stands as a benchmark for what’s possible when boundaries are ignored and vision leads the way. Whether it’s seen gliding across the tarmac or sitting still under show lights, this golden beast continues to mesmerize and inspire — a true one-of-a-kind masterpiece in the world of custom choppers.
