Is this the first Lebanese electric-powered sports car?

Better THAN Nothing Although this does not seem to be an attempt to repeat the success story of its compatriot company W Motors with the Lykan and Fenyr supercars. Turn out, this Lebanese automotive company EV Electra LTD. also has big plans to produce an electric sports car named Electra QUDS Rise which is the first Lebanese electric-powered sports car.
The Electra QUDS Rise is the Lebanon's first sporty electric-powered vehihicle. (Picture from: id.Motor1)
Well, who's the figure behind this startup company? This auto company was founded by a Palestinian-Lebanese businessman named Jihad Mohammed in 2017 and, unsparingly at that time, he also planned the company's production target of 10,000 units per year. However, it seems that this figure is difficult to achieve considering the condition of the Lebanese' automotive industry was not well after the big explosion that rocked the Beirut's port in 2020.

The country fully relies on imported products to meet vehicle needs because it does not have a local car manufacturer. An irony indeed, given that Lebanese people love their cars as much as anywhere else in the Middle East, public transport is relatively minimal in most of the country where infrastructure remains a challenge for years. Even so, this Lebanese startup company managed to launch the first prototype of the Electra QUDS Rise in 2021.

It's built start-to-finish in Lebanon and it's a real car that's apparently really happening, with 300 or so engineers currently working on it. the Electra is the brainchild of Lebanese businessman Jihad Mohammed, who's funded the venture as grounds to create a genuinely Lebanese manufacturer. So the QUDS Rise isn't going to challenge a Model 3 any time soon and it definitely isn't knocking on Rimac's door but that's kind of not what it's here for, which is extremely exclusively a good time.
The Electra QUDS Rise has a front grille inspired by the iconic building by the shape of Qubbat al-Sakhra (the Dome of the Rock,) one of Islam's most important holy sites. (Picture from: id.Motor1)
As reported by Carscoops, the name of this vehicle comes from the Arabic for the city of Jerusalem (al-Quds). From the exterior, the QUDS Rise looks quite unique, where this two-seater compact car has a front grille inspired by the iconic building by the shape of Qubbat al-Sakhra (the Dome of the Rock,) one of Islam's most important holy sites.
The Electra QUDS Rise is supported by an aluminum chassis and uses 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/45 and 255/40 tires on the front and rear. (Picture from: id.Motor1)
In addition, the front is also equipped with wide air intakes and large headlights. At the rear of the QUDS Rise are a prominent diffuser, boomerang-shaped reflectors on the bumper, as well as triangular LED taillights and turn signals.
This car uses 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/45 and 255/40 tires on the front and rear. The Electra QUDS Rise is supported by an aluminum chassis and a look in the interior reveals a small digital gauge cluster in front of the driver and a large 15.9-inch touchscreen in the center of the dashboard that houses most of the controls.
The Electra QUDS Rise's power comes from 50 kWh lithium-ion battery packages to drive an electric motor mounted on the rear axle capable of spitting out a maximum power of 160 hp. (Picture from: id.Motor1)
The car's power comes from 50 kWh lithium-ion battery packages to drive an electric motor mounted on the rear axle capable of spitting out a maximum power of 160 hp so it can accelerate from rest to 100 kph in about 5 seconds. Then this Lebanese startup company claims the top speed of this car is 165 kph with a cruising range of 450 km (280 miles) on a single charge.
The Electra QUDS Rise capable to accelerate from zero to 100 kph in 5 seconds, before reached top speed of 165 kph. (Picture from: id.Motor1)
Furthermore, EV Electra is opening pre-orders for the QUDS Rise with a starting price of €25,000 and deliveries are expected to start in 2022 (already missed). But, ah. It's cheap (for an EV that's sporty-looking) at €25,000 and there's something brash about it that makes you wanna do donuts in a car park.
The Electra QUDS Rise' rear featured with a prominent diffuser, boomerang-shaped reflectors on the bumper, as well as triangular LED taillights and turn signals. (Picture from: id.Motor1)
The QUDS Rise isn't designed to be an engineering marvel; being the first of your kind sometimes means picking exactly which elements you're gonna do that with and if it's "kickstart an EV industry in a country with no prior automotive manufacturing history" then you have to rein in your ambitions on what else you can do.
And in 2023 (two years after it launched) it is not known whether the automaker managed to find devotees for their QUDS Rise, in fact we can no longer access the Lebanese startup's website at this time. What's with this automotive startup? It seems they have left their dreams.😕 *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | EVELECTRA | THEDRIVE | CARSCOOPS | ID.MOTOR1 | ]

The Lightning GT was one of the world's first electric sports cars from England

First ONE In today's modern era, where the trend of electric vehicles is booming, and seem like to invite the players in the automotive industry, no exception ranging from big to small, as they are competing to develop such vehicles that are claimed to be environmentally friendly. And England, as one of the centers of the world's automotive industry, of course, is not left behind in the development of these cars.
The Lightning GT was one of the world's first electric sports cars from England. (Picture from: Supercars.net)
Since this is related to sports cars, you might ask, what is the first sports car from England? As quoted from Supercars.net, the Lightning GT was one of the UK’s first electric sports cars realesed by the Lightning Car Company, a London-based automaker, and unveiled for the first time to public in 2008 at the British International Motor Show

Its story began, when the car firsty developed by the Ronart Cars small team, and built in just nine months based on its internal-combustion V8 engined car at the company's factory in Peterborough, UK, however, due to unforeseen circumstances that caused production to halt. In short, the business and trademark transformed into the Lightning Car Company in 2006.

It thanks to Iain Sanderson, one of the original buyers of the V8-powered Ronart Lightning sports car. It was at this point that a decision was made to relaunch the Lightning with an all-new and ultra-modern electric powertrain. The car is a ground up 100 per cent electric car (EV) with all new components, was initially predicted to be a Tesla' rival.
The Lightning GT started with a design sketch made by Daniel Durrant's DRIVE to be built as an electric-powered car from since the beginning. (Picture from: Supercars.net)
Unlike its then rival, the 1st Generation Tesla Roadster, which was built based on Lotus Elise chassis, the Lightning GT was conceived and built to be an electric-powered car from the outset. Well, this electric car from a British company started with a design sketch made by Daniel Durrant and his agency DRIVE.

Besides that, as a 100 per cent electric vehicle, the British-made sports GT equipped with high-grade Lithium Titanate batteries, which, at the time was an extremely advanced power supply. Performance-wise, the GT boasted from zero to 60 mph (100 kph) time of less than four seconds, with a top speed limited to 155 mph (300 kph).

As quoted from FootManJames, it said only two units of the Lightning GT ever constructed by the British automaker company (one electric, other V8-powered), and the electric variant is currently on display at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
It will serve as a reminder to the world that the electric car market wasn't only led by Elon Musk' Tesla EVs, but also by a British-designed and built fully electric performance car. Well, it's a shame if such car as good as this is just a display without ever making a production version.😉 *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LIGHTNINGGT | WEVEE.UK | BRITISHMOTORMUSEUM | HOTCARS | FOOTMANJAMES | AUTOEXPRESS | SUPERCARS.NET | WIKIPEDIA | ONLYCARSANDCARS ]

Here's an advanced 710 hp electric grand tourer named Audi Grandsphere Concept

NEW Concept Some time ago, as we all know, the German car manufacturer Audi AG. has launched its newest sophisticated car, the Audi Skysphere Concept, and now the Ingolstadt-based automaker once again introduced another concept car called the Audi Grandsphere Concept, which is an electric grand tourer with 710 hp power.
Audi debuts Grandsphere, an electric, self-driving concept car with lounge-like interior. (Picture from: CNN)
If the Audi Skysphere Concept was introduced as a 2-seater convertible with an electric motor powertrain and said to have the ability to drive autonomously up to Level 4 back in August 2021, also known to be the first car in a series of electric-powered concepts that will launched by Audi in the 'sphere' nomenclature.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept comes with Audi's signature hexagonal Grille combined with a hyper futuristic design. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Well, Audi revealed the second 'sphere' concept titled Audi Grandsphere Concept ahead of the IAA Auto Show event held in Munich. This concept car has a 4-passenger and 4-door configuration with a distinctive luxury Grand Tourer silhouette. Just like its sibling, this car is presented to showcase a futuristic look electric-powered car featured with Level 4 autonomous driving technology as well.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept is 5.4 meters long, 2 meters wide and has a wheelbase of 3.2 meters. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
In appearance, Audi calls the Grandsphere a 'street private jet'. And the delineation is seen in the sleek and super long exterior design of this car which even beats the overall length of the Audi A8. The Audi Grandsphere is 5.4 meters long, 2 meters wide and has a wheelbase of 3.2 meters.

Judging by the design of the front fascia which is vaguely similar to current Audi products, this is shown through the distinctive singleframe grille. But other than that, the concept car's design is almost entirely unique.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept appears as an electric-powered 4-door Grand Tourer with a lounge-like interior. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Then the elegant and luxurious sensation is felt through the presence of slender headlamps located above every corner of the grille, hood and short front overhang, and the side profiles combine to form the rear of the fastback style car with thin lights and the red Audi logo.
When you're driving the Audi Grandsphere in Level 4 autonomous driving mode, steering and pedals retract into the body for a completely driverless experience. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Then moving on to the interior, the Audi Grandsphere displays the cabin which is very different from other Audi product lines ever existed before, except for the Audi Skysphere Concept. Well, the Grandsphere welcomes you with an ultra-high-end cabin layout that has driver-only ambient lighting.

This is inseparable from the use of high-end materials such as wood, wool, aluminum and glass that fill the cabin. You won't find a head unit on this car as the MMI infotainment display is projected above the wooden surface of the dashboard, showing things like audio and navigation controls.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept' interior looks as futuristic as a spaceship cabin. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Not only that, this cabin also has a pampering feature with the driver and passenger seat settings also adjusting automatically, depending on the predetermined mode, and the cabin cools or warms according to the desired temperature.

And when you're driving the Grandsphere in Level 4 autonomous driving mode, steering and pedals retract into the body for a completely driverless experience. That allows passengers to take advantage of the refrigerator mounted on the center console, complete with two specially designed glasses and bottles for beverages.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept can cover a distance of 750 kilometers on a single charge. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
Regarding the drivetrain, the Audi Grandsphere Concept also uses the Vokswagen Group's PPE (Platform Premium Electric) platform which is also used by the Audi E6 and Q6 E-Tron and the Porsche Macan EV. As we know that this platform includes a 120 kWh battery module, and when combined with two electric motors this will produce up to 710 hp of power with 960 Nm of torque.
The Audi Grandsphere Concept uses a rear-wheel drive system (RWD) and adaptive air suspension settings. (Picture from: GreenCarReports)
If translated into acceleration performance, the Grandsphere Concept only takes 4 seconds to accelerate from rest to 100 kph. Furthermore, this car is claimed to be able to cover a distance of 750 kilometers on a single charge, with the ability to add a distance of 300 km in just 10 minutes thanks to the battery's ability to recharge up to 270 kW.

This Audi Grandsphere car uses a rear-wheel drive system (RWD) and adaptive air suspension settings. The suspension can make adjustments in milliseconds to control pitch and body roll. This can be achieved by using a sophisticated front camera to monitor the road surface and make proactive adjustments depending on the conditions ahead.
For now, the Audi Grandsphere is just a concept car, like its sibling Skysphere Concept. However Audi says that these both concepts would be preview the electric cars in the future product range of the Ingolstadt-based automaker. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUDI | CNN | GREENCARREPORTS ]

The 20th century's balanced two-wheeled car

Unique ONES - We are talking about unusual vehicles again. This vehicle is not a motorcycle even though it has and uses two wheels, neither a car. At a glance, this vehicle is similar to Bi-Autogo, the other unique vehicle that we have discussed previously.
Shilovsky Gyrocar was made by the Wolseley Tool & Motorcar Company in 1914 under commissioned by Count Pyotr Shilovsky. (Picture from: Jalopnik)
Unusual vehicles mentioned above is focused on a bizarre-shaped vehicle and examine the story behind how it was created. One of the weirdest of all time is the Shilovsky Gyrocar, a vehicle that looked like a cross between a motorbike and a car. But what exactly was it? In contrast to Bi-Autogo, this unique vehicle, although the two-wheeled vehicle, but it has applied a balance came from the gyroscope system as opposed to the front wheel.
Shilovsky Gyrocar is powered by a modified Wolseley C5 engine and applies two gyroscope units as its stabilizer to remain standing on its two wheels. (Picture from: Jalopnik)
The vehicle was made in the same-era of Bi-Autogo, where the first prototype was made by the Wolseley Tool and Motorcar Company in 1914. This unique vehicle is first appeared to the public in London and commissioned by Count Pyotr Shilovsky, a member of the Russian royal families in 1912.

In general, this vehicle is described as a long car shaped like a large motorcycle in front of a shoe-shaped hood that covers the engine, then there is a dashboard form of cooler behind it and two electrical fans to induce a draught of air to the radiators.
Shilovsky Gyrocar is first appeared to the public in London in 1914. (Picture from: Jalopnik)
The vehicle is powered by a modified Wolseley C5 engine and applies two gyroscope units that work on the steering through a shaft, ratchet, and pendulum system which together stabilizes the car to remain standing on its two wheels.

This vehicle runs with the engine power of around 16 to 20 horsepower which moves its rear wheels through a conventional clutch and gearbox, but there weren’t any brakes on the wheels. The unique-shaped vehicle weighs around 2,750 kg which can carry up to six people inside its cabin.
Shilovsky Gyrocar's gyroscope units that work on the steering through a shaft, ratchet, and pendulum system as its stabilizer to remain stood on its two wheels. (Picture from: Jalopnik)
But the story of this unique vehicle ended sadly when Shilovsky returned to Russia during World War I and Wolseley did not hear from him again, and then the car was buried. And it remained left that way until 1938 and was dug up to be restored. After the restoration completed, the gyrocar becomes part of Wolseley's Museum collections. However, it was dismantled in 1948 and never to be seen again since then.😢
Shilovsky Gyrocar once displayed on Wolseley's company museum but then dismantled in 1948 and never to be seen again since then. (Picture from: Jalopnik)
Indeed, Shilovsky's gyrocar might not succeed financially when appearing in public at that time, but it turned out to be able to inspire many gyrocars decades later. But still, the gyroscope vehicles have not been able to talk a lot in the world's automotive until now.

Kept spur your adrenaline on the power of the two-wheeled monster and stay alive with true safety riding. God will forgive Your sins.... *** [EKA [01072020] | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | JALOPNIKCAROLENASH ]
