On February 14, 2024, the automotive world witnessed the official introduction of the New Ypsilon. Napolitano, with unwavering conviction, declared, "With the launch of the New Ypsilon, the Lancia brand is reborn." The stakes are high for this electrifying newcomer, tasked with surpassing or at least matching the stellar success of its predecessor, which secured the second position among the best-selling cars in 2023, with over 3.5 million units sold across four generations since 1985.

The metamorphosis of the 2024 Lancia New Ypsilon from its predecessor is nothing short of revolutionary. With a 13-year gap between the two projects, the iconic "egg" shape has been discarded in favor of more intricate and larger designs. Stretching 4.1 meters in length, the car boasts a completely revamped look, embracing a sportier aesthetic with nods to Lancia's storied past, such as circular headlights reminiscent of the legendary Stratos model.

A pivotal revolution awaits within the car's interior. The two 10.25-inch displays, aptly named "SALA," dominate the dashboard, serving as hubs for driving information and infotelematics. Minimizing physical controls, the digital panel empowers users to navigate seamlessly. The dash's rational shape and fabric covering, designed by renowned furniture company Cassina, house a central table, paying homage to Lancia's classic fabric choices from yesteryears, so then model called Lancia New Ypsilon Limited Edition Cassina.

Notably, the New Ypsilon is available in a fully electric version, featuring a robust 156 hp engine and a 51 kWh battery, boasting a declared autonomy of 403 km. Quick recharge capabilities, enabling 100 km in just 10 minutes, make it a standout choice. Mild hybrid engines and petrol versions with 100 hp and 136 hp are set to hit the market from May 2024.

With a list price starting at Є39,500, the New Ypsilon Limited Edition Cassina is now on a promotional sale, reaching Є34,999 with a scrapping discount of up to Є4k. As production of the old Ypsilon ceases definitively, the Cassina version becomes a beacon of Lancia's forward-looking aspirations.
