The Vision One-Eleven as a sign of the Mercedes-Benz being adapting to changes of era
Green ONES - Recently, Mercedes-Benz AG. unveiled its sleek new electric supercar concept called the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven, is intended to be a futuristic car concept with a design inspired by the classic C111 prototypes. For your info, the Mercedes-Benz C111 prototypes of the '60s and '70s served as test beds for emerging powertrain technologies, fitted with an array of turbo-diesel and Wankel rotary engines.

And now when the world's automotive industry is busy to shifting from combustion engines towards to electric power, the German manufacturer then launched the Vision One-Eleven Concept, similar to its predecessor, acts as a predictor of how a brand like Mercedes-Benz can adapt to the global automotive landscape changing.

As you can see, the Vision One-Eleven's sleek supercar looks are clearly inspired by the original C111 prototype, painted a vibrant shade of orange and fitted with dramatic gullwing doors. The concept's silhouette features one line running in a shallow curve from front to rear, echoing the cab-forward aerodynamic designs of Mercedes's current EV offerings like the EQS and EQE.

At its peak the roof measures just 46 inches tall, and the design is grounded by chunky black side skirts, a front splitter, and a cavernous rear diffuser with blue backlighting. Mercedes-Benz says this makes the One-Eleven look like it is "fused with the road surface," and it also references the C111'sblack accents.

Instead of a grille, the One-Eleven's front end features an oval panel with pixelated LEDs that mimic the C111's fog lights and can also display messages to pedestrians and other drivers. A similar panel is found on the rear end and a similar pixelated pattern appears on the opaque windows, a feature we've seen on other Mercedes-Benz concepts like the Vision AMG. The intricate design of the massive wheels is meant to emulate the windings inside of electric motors.

Although the One-Eleven's exterior suggests a high-performance supercar design, the cabin's apperance such a sort of comfortable lounge. Given the low bodywork, the interior looks spacious, leaving plenty of room for the seats to recline as in the absence of a chunk of engine that takes up space behind the driver. And when the "race" mode is activated, the seat back is raised to an upright position.

As its exterior appearance, then a touch of distinctive orange hue appears inside the One-Eleven as well, with the brightly colored leather (mentioned by Mercedes-Benz was tanned using coffee bean husks) which stands in stark contrast to the white dashboard material, made of recycled polyester.
Then the dashboard is simple, with a full-width LED pixel display meant to harken back to the old-school news tickers that displayed important information like speed. It also shows a QR code linked to the digital artwork which will then appear on the touch screen (dunno why that is there).

Still inside the cabin, there's a shiny silver seats that look reminiscent of retro astronaut outfits and are equipped with polished aluminum on buttons and switches as well as gas and brake pedals. While its unsual rectangular-shaped steering is wrapped in leather, it features a small touchscreen that protrudes from the steering column and tilts towards the driver.
The German automaker also mentions an augmented-reality headset that turns the entire interior into a user interface, with 3D controls, icons and maps for navigation. The AR system will also make the One-Eleven's A-pillars and hood appear transparent, increasing visibility to the outside.

As for the powertrain, the concept car is equipped with an axial flux motor that has been vaguely described as "very powerful" and made by British battery company YASA which has acquired by the automaker in 2021. The German automaker says this technology is being developed for its next generation of EVs as the axial-flux motors weigh one-third as much as an equally powerful radial-flux motors that currently used by most EVs. It also takes up one-third the amount of space.
Well, the battery consists of "liquid-cooled cylindrical cells with a new cell chemistry" which the three-pointed star emblemed automaker says draws from the Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrain, which is responsible for the power units in the company's Formula 1 drivers.
