As quoted of DigitalTrends on Thursday, December 31, 2015, the baseball cap exterior of SmartCap houses an ElectroEncephaloGram (EEG) technology, which continuously analyzes the brain waves of its wearer. Analysis was translated as specific algorithms to reveal the level of fatigue and drowsiness of a person.

SmartCap do not want to generalize the level of fatigue everybody, so the limitation of fatigue level is set by the user. Because the owner of the cap considered more aware to their boundary conditions respectively

At a certain level, the smart hat is authorized to "awaken" the sleepy driver with a warning alarm through a variety of user devices that have been integrated. Not only giving a warning alarm, SmartCap can also give the advice to the user. All refer to the data collected in the SmartCap cloud system.

For example, at a certain point of fatigue, the body needs drinking as the water intake. At another point, users can simply rest a few minutes. Furthermore, the data in the cloud can also be used to investigate the accidents.
The SmartCap product has been used several transportation companies in South Africa, Australia, and Chile. In the future, SmartCap want to expand to other countries. Unfortunately, the company not mentions, the price of the smart hat.. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DIGITALTRENDS]

The new P1 carbon series is produced only 5 units worldwide

McLaren, one of British renowned supercar manufacturers has recently announced the launch of P1 that will be produced in a limited number of 20 units. However, the plan has changed, this time the news that blow mention that the supercar manufacturers cut production amount to only 5 units worldwide. The P1 cars will be produced with a very limited numbers was made of full carbon materials which of course is lighter and stronger than other materials.

McLaren was deliberately produce such a luxury vehicle in the limited numbers of 5 units worldwide. It becomes a marketing strategy for the limited edition car so consumers are increasingly attracted and scramble to have it. Besides having a body made entirely of carbon materials, for some sections will also be pinned with red as an accent on the side skirts, diffuser and rear wing, rear 'P1' badge and front splitter.

However, until now McLaren has not yet determined for the five P1 Carbon models are given the same color or different, or there is likely to bring the same color as the previously introduced models.

McLaren did cut the number of production which initially amounted to 20 units to 5 units only. However, apparently for the price offered was the same as its initial offer of US. $200 thousand, equivalent to Rp.2,7 billion.

Armed with technical specifications that uses a twin turbo V8 engine has a capacity of 3.8 liters. These machines has also been used in other models such as the McLaren MP4-12C and the 12C Spyder. The engine power is maximized by a combination of the electric motors that can generate a power of 179 hp (132 kW) with a torque of 260 Nm (192 lb-ft).

So, the car with a carbon material can be recorded a maximum power up to 916 hp (674 kW) with a peak torque reaches 900 Nm (663 lb-ft), and could be run from zero to 100 km/h in less than three seconds and has a maximum speed of 350 km/h. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARSCOOPS]

Voxan aggressive scramblers by Motorieep

France was honored for being able to create a very tempting recipes, whether in the kitchen, the fashion house including in terms of automotive world, especially a custom motorcycles.

To celebrate their 20th anniversary this year and despite the challenge of competing against Japanese, Italian and British manufacturers as well as making it through a pretty deep recession, the company now offer more than just a quirky motorcycle; they’re forging ahead with a super-tech electric bike.

For now though we prefer the thump of a hydrocarbon burning motor and the heart of every Voxan is the stunning a 72° 996 cc V-twin designed by racing gurus Sodemo Moteurs.

Henri Pescarolo’s Le Mans LMP1 entries and the BTCC winning Renault Lagunas were powered by Sodemo engines, proving the pedigree.

However, Voxan’s Scrambler in stock trim isn’t exactly gorgeous and doesn’t do its wonderful engine justice. Enter stage left, Pierre from Paris based custom shop Motorieep.

Pierre did make over, to create a street scramblers and trackers are aggressive, so it looks flashy and draw the eye when walking. In order to get a form of motorcycle unsightly, then Pierre had to sacrifice form a thin fuel tank that can saves 10 liters of gasoline.

The engine might look mighty but thanks to shortsighted red tape producers new motorcycles sold in France since 1985 must not exceed 100 hp. Well, to improve the performance of the original engine, Pierre make improvements by removing the internal fuel pump, mounting a new high pressure version with adjustable regulator just below the tank.

The use of a new version of adjustable high pressure regulator, which is placed at the bottom of the tank, plus the stainless exhaust and as a result, the engine power boosted up to 115 hp. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MOTORIEEP | THEBIKESHED]

Absorbent concrete can be a solution to cope with floods

Concrete is often used for the construction of buildings or roads. Because it is strong and durable, has been becoming the choice of many contractors for years.

However, the Topmix Permeable concrete was different from most that is often encountered many people. The concrete was designed to be a cover surface with super absorbent which allows water to seep through. It avoids stagnant water on it so it could be an effort to cope with floods.
The concrete uses a large pebble size (pictured) to allow water to filter down through it into a loose aggregate layer below, which can hold the water and allow it to gradually filter into the soil beneath. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1Jmi7TA)
On the video shows the material being tested in a parking lot had been drank at least 880 gallons (4,000 liters) of water in about one minute. Most of the water disappears immediately after touching the surface.
Meanwhile, to prevent the flooding during storms, the concrete can also help make the roads or bike paths safer because it prevents puddles. The porous concrete layer on the top surface allows water to flow through a relatively large gravel matrix to more loose debris underneath.

The drainage channel at the very bottom will help increase the amount of water that can be absorbed. In addition, the concrete can not only help overcome flash floods in urban areas, but also helps reduce heating bitumen in hot weather.
The Lafarge Tarmac company says by adding drainage systems into the aggregate beneath the Topmix Permeable layer, it can increase the amount of water it is able to absorb. A graphic showing how the system works is shown above. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1Jmi7TA)
"The porous concrete surface allows water drained even when large volumes of water and with high bulk," says the Permeable Topmix brand holder company, Lafarge Tarmac.

During periods of high temperatures and intense rainy season, the concrete can help to delay the discharge of surface water into the drainage system so as to reduce the risk of excessive water or causing flash floods.
The absorbent concrete is said to be ideal for car parks (pictured) where standing water and puddles can be a problem and large areas of paved ground can increase the risk of flash flooding during storms. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1Jmi7TA)
"As intense rainfall, water stored in the evaporated system and creates a cooling effect that reduces surface temperature," explains Tarmac.

The porous concrete concept has been discussed around for almost 60 years and is often used under asphalt to help aid drainage.

However, Tarmac claimed progress in the porous concrete concept can be compacted as it is now and has allowed the concrete is used as a surface, and able to withstand the weight of the vehicle. Furthermore, Tarmac also claims the porous concrete is ideal for large areas where water can be a problem, for example bathes the garden or driveway. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DAILYMAIL]

How's about in Indonesia?
The similar technology has also been applied in Indonesia and developed by Holcim Indonesia. With the name of ThruCrete, the porous concrete street can absorb water and prevent flooding.

Holcim ThruCrete have the pavement thickness of 15 cm with the thick of bottom layer (base coarse) was 7 centimeters and 30 percent air voids. The concrete can accommodate as much as 66 liters of water per square meter.
This type of concrete has been applied on the runway of the Juanda Airport, Surabaya and on the taxi way area covering 3,500 square meters. Additionally, in Jakarta, Holcim ThruCrete has implemented on the sidewalk in Jalan Rasuna Said. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | HOLCIM INDONESIA]
