Toyota’s Camatte Concept Is More Than Just a Toy Car for Kids

Imaginative Mobility - When kids think about cars, they often picture remote-controlled toys or bright-colored racers in video games. But what if they could actually sit behind the wheel, customize their own car, and learn the basics of driving and design—all while spending time with their family? That’s exactly the playful yet educational vision Toyota introduced through one of its most heartwarming and unexpected creations: the Toyota Camatte.

Unveiled at the 2012 International Tokyo Toy Show, the Camatte isn't just a scaled-down vehicleit’s a full-on concept car that brings families into the world of cars in a completely new way. Toyota developed it not for performance or prestige, but to spark curiosity in the next generation of drivers. Small in size but big in intention, the Camatte was never designed for public roads. Instead, it was crafted to be a hands-on tool for learning, imagination, and bonding.

At just under 3 meters in length, the Camatte looks like a toy, but it’s surprisingly functional. It features a modular exterior where all body panels can be removed and swapped. These panels come in various shapes, colors, and styles, allowing children and parents to personalize their car together. This flexibility isn’t just for funit teaches how vehicles are put together and gives kids a taste of creative engineering in action.

The inside of the Camatte is just as unique. Toyota adopted a 1+2 seating layout, placing the driver’s seat at the front and two additional seats behind it in a triangle formation. This setup creates an open, cooperative environment where communication between parent and child is natural and encouraged. The pedals and seats can be adjusted to suit smaller drivers, while a supervising adult can reach the steering and brakes from the rearensuring safety while empowering young drivers to learn.

But Toyota didn’t stop at one version. Over several years, they introduced a variety of Camatte models, each with its own flavor. The Camatte Sora and Camatte Daichi were among the first, featuring playful, colorful designs inspired by the sky and earth. Later came the Camatte Takumi, a more refined version that highlighted craftsmanship and a slightly more polished look. Then there were the Camatte 57S and Camatte 57S Sports, both of which offered sleek, retro-inspired styling with dozens of small, detachable panels—encouraging even more creativity in customization. These models embraced a mix of fun and futuristic design, sparking even deeper engagement for kids interested in car aesthetics.  | AHZ-oeaxY2c |
The most recent addition, the Camatte Hajime, brought things even closer to reality. It runs on an electric motor and offers slightly larger dimensions, pushing the idea of a kid’s car into something resembling a mini EV. With a length of just over 3 meters and a battery-powered heart, it proves that the Camatte is more than a novelty—it’s a concept that evolves with each version.

While children weren’t allowed to drive the Camatte around the showroom floor, Toyota made sure they still had an unforgettable experience. Through interactive simulations, kids could choose their favorite Camatte model, sit behind a virtual wheel, and take a digital test drive using a tablet. They even got their pictures taken and saw themselves inside the car on screen—a clever blend of technology and imagination.

Toyota has made it clear that the Camatte isn’t headed for production, and it’s not road-legal for children to actually drive. But that’s never been the point. The Camatte exists to inspire, to teach, and to bring families closer together through a shared love of vehicles. It shows that cars don’t have to be fast or expensive to be meaningful—they just have to bring people together and ignite the kind of creativity that lasts long after the show ends.

With the Camatte, Toyota didn’t just build a car. They created something far more meaningfula memory machine built with curiosity, creativity, and connection at its core. It’s not about horsepower or high-tech features; it’s about giving kids the chance to dream, explore, and take their first steps toward understanding the world of mobility. Through playful design, thoughtful engineering, and a whole lot of heart, Toyota managed to turn a simple concept into a powerful experience—one that lets children imagine what it feels like to be in control, to create something their own, and to share it with the people they love most.

The Camatte may never hit the streets, but its impact goes well beyond the showroom. It lives on in the smiles, the questions, and the wide-eyed wonder of every child who got to sit behind its tiny wheel and picture themselves driving into the future. *** [EKA [09102015] | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARADVICE | CARWP | STREETTOYOTA | CARANDDRIVER | NYTIMES | OTO | CARSTYLING.RU | QUIRKYRIDES IN X ]

Honda will add another variant through these two concepts that will appear at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015, at the end of October. Two concepts that take the scrambler style  use the semi hoe tires. This change makes those two Grom concept models increasingly look fierce.

There has been no detailed explanation about the two concept motorcycles. Honda still provide several pictures, including details of both of these Monkey concepts.

The first model is quite masculine, like a scrambler motorcycle in general. High handlebars, like Honda Z-Series at the beginning of the production of so-called "Monkey".
While the second model with the same look-alike scrambler bike, but more classic looks with rearview appearance that blends with the end of the handlebar, and a wind shield with numbers. Wait for the full details in a special review of motorcycles at Tokyo Motor Show, shortly. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | ASPHALT AND RUBBER]

Where's the Queen Nefertiti tomb?

High-resolution scan indicates the tomb of Tutankhamun, the boy-king of ancient Egypt contains two secret rooms, one of which was thought to be the final resting place of Queen Nefertiti.

Nicholas Reeves, an Egyptologist from the UK, said in a press conference in Cairo he believes the King Tutankhamun mausoleum was filled by Nefertiti, and thought by the experts was his stepmother, and she has been lying there for more than 3,000 years behind space separated walls, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Dr Reeves believes the pharaoh's room was simply an afterthought, describing it as a 'corridor-style tomb-within-a-tomb'. Pictured is its entrance. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1J8wuBu)
Reeves said the radar and thermal imagery, radar and thermal imaging, can help uncover the secret room hidden behind the tomb of Tutankhamun and what was behind it.
Scans of the north wall of King Tutankhamun's burial chamber have revealed features beneath the intricately decorated plaster (left) a researcher believes may be a hidden door, possibly to the burial chamber of Nefertiti. He claims faults in the rock (highlighted right) are characteristic of a door being cut and bricked up. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1J8wuBu)
Mamdouh al-Damaty, Egyptian Antiquities Minister said the next step is working on the radar study that will begin one to three months. King Tut, died around 1323 BC. His tomb, which is equipped with a gold mask, discovered in the Valley of the Kings by Howard Carter, a British scientist in 1922.
Dr Nicholas Reeves claims to have found evidence for the bricked up entrances to two additional chambers to Tutankhamun's tomb. These include the burial chamber for Queen Nefertiti, who Dr Reeves claims was the boy-kings co-regent and may even have been his mother, and new hidden storage room, as shown above. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1J8wuBu)
Experts have long studied why the tomb of King Tut is smaller than the other pharaohs and why its shape more in line with the Egyptian queen at the time. Egyptologists are still not sure where Nefertiti died and was buried. She is believed to have died while her husband was still in power, leading to the assumption she was buried at Amarna, a bust chest of her was found in 1912.
Tutankhamen's tomb was first discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter. Archaeologists are shown above removing part of a wooden couch, covered with gold leaf and a hippopotamus head, from the tomb at the time. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1J8wuBu)
More recently, and most experts, including Reeves, believes she outlived her husband Pharaoh Akhenatten, changed her name and probably ruled Egypt in a short time.
The gold burial mask of Tutankhamun, shown above, is one of the greatest treasures found inside the boy king's richly furnished tomb. Since its discovery, the story of the young ruler has entranced archaeologists. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1J8wuBu)
Reeves developed his theory of Nefertiti's tomb after studying the high-resolution scans showed that he believed the two secret chamber in the northern and western parts of the walls of the tomb of King Tut. One room, according to him, is a storage area and another one containing the bodies of Nefertiti, whose name means "she is beautiful has come".

But other archaeologists to be careful because the evidence is still lacking and other scientists believe the mummy of Nefertiti was found in 1898 and stored in the Egyptian Museum.

"The idea that one room may refer to the former tomb, say Nefertiti, still pure speculation," said Aidan Dodson, an Egypt expert at Bristol University, as told to Reuters.

Damaty, who recently returned from a tour of the Valley of the Kings with Reeves and other experts, said he believes there is a secret room that may contain the bodies of royal women, chances are the mother of King Tut.

Nefertiti was the first wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten, who introduced monotheism in Egypt around the 14th century BC. Many scientists say King Tut was the son of Akhenaten from her sister Kia.

Tutankhamun is believed to be married to his half sister Ankhesenamun, one of six daughters of Akhenaten and Nefertiti. Nefertiti is said to live longer than her husband and ruled Egypt under the name Neferneferuaten. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DAILYMAIL]

This bike has its own road lanes

For motorcyclists who often come home at night, the lights become a very important component in providing illumination while on the road. In addition, the lights also be a marker for other vehicles on the back or front up as part of the modification.

One innovation that the lights can be an option for the favorite bikes come from the Superbike Lotus C-O1, namely Lane Lights. What's Lane Lights? As reported by the Autorevolution on Monday, October 5, 2015, Lane Lights introduced by Samsung through the project titled "Samsung's Smart Bike Projects" where its use is intended for bicycles.

Lane Lights is a two-lamp-based laser modules that will project light such as lines and adjacent that is shaped like a private virtual path. However, the use of laser modules is less effective because the light is projected onto a very thin so that the level of visibility becomes low.

Starting from a bicycle that uses laser light, Lane Lights chose LEDs as the light source because the light produced is much more powerful and effective to be mounted on a motorcycle. The use of LEDs is also based on the type of lamps with different sizes and varying levels of luminescence light and energy efficient.

In addition, Lane Lights itself also can be easily installed either permanently or removable, and did not rule can be operated via mobile phone. The Lane Lights usage expected can improve the visibility of motorcyclists, especially at night and be a marker for other road users. Glowing strange turtle found in the Solomon Islands

The oceanographer was accidentally discovered luminous sea turtles while they are researching and filming the lives of small sharks and coral plants in the Salomon islands, South Pacific.

The scientists succeeded in filming a Hawksbill sea turtle that emit red and green neon colors. The discovery was made last July by David Gruber of the University of the City of New York with the team. The new recording they announced to the public, on Monday, September 28, 2015 last.

Gruber described the alien ship sea turtles like the first time he saw it. "He was so unbelievably beautiful," said Gruber told CNN on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. The turtle swam toward us when the team was focused to record coral. His arrival was so sudden and surprising our team, "he said.

In recent years, experts became interested in marine habitats biofluorescence, or creatures that absorb light and emit light it again with a different color.

"It's like a mystery novel," adds Gruber. "Starting from jellyfish, corals, and jellyfish and corals glow that made the breakthrough in marine biomedical field. The problem is, corals and jellyfish simply removing one color, while the turtle can be issued more than one color."

Fluorescence has helped provide a marker for scientists to see cells in the body and lead to groundbreaking research in the field of biofluorescence, Gruber explained.

Find reptiles that can emit light brings the question, why turtles could glow? What exactly is the chemical components contained therein.

It is the privilege biofluorescence. So far there are 200 species of sharks and fish were found to be able to process it. In some cases, the experts concluded, corals can perform this process because they absorb sunlight. But for fish and sharks, from where they get light and how it could not be ascertained.
"Fish and sharks are still a mystery to us. Now the sea turtles. This is an example of how the ocean still holds many secrets," Gruber laughter.

Hawksbill sea turtles are endangered species and threatened by climate change. In many areas, the only remaining thousands of females who actively reproducing.

"Their numbers are shrinking and now we are treated to a new fact that they can shine. For me, this is a sign that they are very important to be protected and understood before they become extinct," added Gruber. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LIVESCIENCE | CNN]
