Archaeologists found the Aztecs enemies skull rack

A group of archaeologists found large rack containing the skull in an old building in the center of Mexico City. Pile skull was supposed to be part of traditional ceremonies that had been done the Aztecs. This tribe never mastered the Mesoamerican region, from central Mexico to Costa Rica, in the 14th to 16th centuries.
A team of archaeologists working in Mexico City's historic center has unearthed an ancient skull rack, which has been mentioned in early texts dating back to the second half of the 16th century in New Spain.. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1I6vXsR)
In Nahuatl language used by the Aztec people, shelves piled skulls known as tzompantli. The rack is used as a display of human skulls that have been cleaned up to white. The skulls are usually taken from the enemy soldiers who become victims of ritual atop temple by the Aztec priests.

Shelf skull was excavated in a cathedral of the colonial era. Experts suspect the newly discovered partially rack was made between 1485 and 1502. The length of the shelf was estimated at 34 meters and a width of about 12 meters. Hundreds of skulls expected once neatly arranged on shelves wooden pegs to cause fear and amazement.
Raul Barrera, an archaeologist from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), speaks to the media as a picture of a skull that was discovered at the ruins of the Templo Mayor Aztec complex is seen above him, during a news conference at the Anthropology.... Archaeologist Raul Barrera said the tzompantli is a device that has a specific symbolism. "We hope to reveal that many of these skeletons belong to the enemy Aztecs captured, sacrificed and decapitated before display here," he said as quoted by Reuters last week.

Known as the Aztec tribe who enjoyed war at once very religious. Their territory is also very large, covering the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean coast. The Aztecs and culture shattered when Spanish explorers arrived and fight them at the beginning of the 16th century.

The archaeologists also hope the findings of shelves piled skulls that could reveal how the behavior of the ruler of the Aztecs increase its influence at the expense of human beings. Despite having assessed cruel ritual, the Aztecs also known as the people who are able to develop irrigated farming techniques, architecture tall buildings, and the calendar system. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | REUTERS]

A one-off Bentley Continental GT

A one-off Bentley Continental GT with a mash-up of exterior components from other supercars. The car is reportedly based off a Rolls-Royce Phantom and is a one-off prototype but as far as we can tell, there’s no evidence that it is indeed based on the Rolls-Royce Phantom..

In fact, from the front at least, it simply looks like a stretched Bentley Continental GT with a few ill-fitting components painted in different shades of silver and grey. However, it’s when you look at the finer details that the bespoke nature of this car becomes evident.

From the front, it features a brand new chrome grille dramatically different to the Bentley Continental GT’s as well as a much longer and lower front-end. In fact, the only real signs that this is indeed a Bentley from the front are the trademark four round headlights.

From the rear, this unique supercar mash-up features very few or even no real features from the genuine Bentley Continental GT. In fact, it’s sporting taillights and quad-exhaust pipes similar to the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti as well as a redesigned trunk lid.

Pentagon pattern for the field design with no gaps

Three mathematicians from the University of Washington Bothell managed to solve the complicated logarithmic equations to find the design uses a pattern that can cover the entire surface of the field perfectly, without gaps or overlaps.

The research team consisted of a professor of Mathematics Casey Mann, accompanied by his wife an algorithm Jennifer McLoud-Mann and a student of David Von Noise was finding a design pattern to form a pentagon or areas of the five with the groove in such a way that not only can be used to cover surface well, but also can be used to manufacture the design build, even for use in the field of biochemistry.

The pattern they create is the 15th pentagon pattern that have been found. Previously, mathematicians have proven that the pattern of triangular and quadrilateral, or any field with four sides can seal the surface without a gap. Hexagon pattern was also shown to cover the surface well.

It has been 30 years since the last time a perfect pentagon pattern is found (the 14th pentagonal design found by Rolf Stein), and finally the three mathematicians of the University of Washington is able to solve the mathematics complicated riddle to make a pattern with five sided field or pentagon. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE GUARDIAN | NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC]

Utilization of Carbon dioxide

Scientists have long dreamed of a technology that can convert carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gas emissions are very influential on global warming, become a valuable commodity.

Now, a group of chemists are developing a technology that can convert atmospheric CO2 into carbon nanofiber (carbon fiber) which is very valuable for industrial and consumer products.
A group of scientists claim that they were able to find a way that can help convert atmospheric CO2 into carbon nanofibers. This breakthrough development is said to successfully transform an abundant greenhouse gas into something beneficial. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1Lq1ptr)
Stuart Licht, Ph.D., who headed the research at George Washington University explains, "Nanofiber resulting from CO2 could be used to make a powerful mixture of carbon, such as those used in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, also in advanced sports equipment, wind turbines and a variety of other products."
This false-color image shows carbon nanofibers. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1JqSkyq)
Licht called his discovery as "diamonds from the sky," because the diamond is made from carbon, also explained that the products produced from the carbon nanofiber was very valuable, as well as high-value diamonds.

Technology of carbon nanofiber making can be so efficient requiring less power and sunlight to work. Of course, carbon dioxide is the primary and indispensable in the system. In addition, the technology developed by Licht require the electrolyte synthesis process in the manufacture of nanofiber.

Work system of this technology began with CO2 splitting uses molten carbonate, which is heated up to a temperature of 750 degrees Celsius. Then, the atmospheric air is added to the electrolytic cell.

When the addition of atmospheric air into the cell electrolyte occurs, the CO2 will dissolve, resulting electrode current of nickel and steel. In that steel electrodes the carbon nanofiber produced.
