Lunatic's Honda CBR250RR Neo Café Racer

Do not know why, when I saw this Honda custom motorcycle on Naikmotor page for the first time, I immediately fell in love with it. Maybe this is called Love at first sight. Yes, the figure of the enchanting custom motorcycle with café racer theme is built from the base of Honda CBR250RR by Lunatic Custom Motorcycle Jakarta for the 'Honda Dream Ride Project 2017'.

According to the builder Yuwono Jati of Lunatic Custom Motorcycle Jakarta, the basic idea in developing the concept of café Racer in the Honda Dream Ride Project 2017 is very different from the café racer concept in general. Inevitably the result of Honda CBR250RR Neo Café Racer this time is a sweet blending between classic and modern concept.

Indeed the builder is very fond of the café racer theme, besides that he wants to make something far different from the original images. The standard view of the CBR250RR is instantly overhauled based on the concepts that he made after long discussions with the Honda Dream Ride Project 2017 mentors.

Yuwono Jati totally changed the body of motorcycle by removing all of the standard fairing. Although impressed classical but the new fairing is quite modern, and he also did not make the fairing one fully set and let the engine form a little exposed.

Indeed, there is no total change, there are still some old parts that are deliberately maintained like a standard tank, and the mainframe also does not change to match the Honda's requirements for this event.

He then thought how to make the fairings with old-fashioned looks can still be pleasing to the eye when combined with the modern looks of standard CBR250RR tank. Because if one component wrong implementation would damage the overall concept, where the outline of the Neo Café Racer.
On the back of Honda CBR250RR Custom Neo Café Racer, the disc is replaced drumbrakes, and mounted tubular swing arm. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2vjcUNt)
To reinforce the classical impression he uses the spokes rims, then drumbrakes, and classic tread tires from Firestone. Then some innate parts are also not totally replaced, just by changing the original shape such as swing arm, then footstep, and lastly with the selection of white color.
Honda CBR250RR Custom Neo Café Racer have been tested on the streets as far as 500 km to prove the control is still comfortable for daily use. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2vjcUNt)
In the selection of colors, the builder deliberately chose a white color to reinforce the classic impression. And the rest for the frame and the legs are given gunmetal color, a little warm accent with red in the seat and mounting Honda-wing logo on the side of the tank.

Honda CBR250RR Neo Café Racer was built for three months, then introduced to the media through a special event in Yogyakarta. In addition, this motorcycle is also tested with a total distance of about 500 km along with other custom motorcycles. The goal is to prove that the custom motorcycle remains comfortable while on riding.
According to the builder, in the process of making this custom motorcycle until to appear maximally almost without significant constraints, only the limited processing time can be regarded as a major obstacle, and according to him also the limited time is a bit inhibiting to get the best quality results according to the his workshop standards.

A mild alteration on Harley-Davidson so appears slightly in Scrambler style

The figure of Harley-Davidson Sportster was already mesmerize, but for Mr.K still considered not satisfy him. Although far from his home in the island of Bali, the motorbike then shipped to the Baru Motor Sport (BMS) in Jakarta to be modified.

"If only appear in standard conditions nothing special, too common, so I want there's distinction between my motorbike with other Sportster," said Mr. K who doesn't want the changes on his bike too extreme as well. So what it should be made?

"Contrived in slightly scrambler style," Ariawan Wijaya the owner of BMS chuckled while providing a simple touches without much change. "Still on the concept, and using as many original parts but makes it look different," he added.

The motorcycle modification is fairly simple for the Jakarta-based workshop, "There is nothing complicated on the legs? At front, it used an upside-down suspension of the Kawasaki ZX-6R to look more solid, while the original was use the telescopic type," he explained.
A shorter-shaped handlebars, thus making the riding position slightly ducking. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1gv8oZ)
According to him, mounting an upside-down suspension from Kawasaki is the easiest, "Because of the position of the triangle is already more advanced, so that when the suspension played not stuck on the frame. Just look for the right angle," he detailed. The bike's standard rear swing arm being mated to the Ohlins shock absorbers. While its wheels replaced with the Roland Sand Design (RSD) aftermarket products.
Its short exhaust is located exactly in the position of the right foot, so given the protector of carbon plate. Beware it's hot! (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1gv8oZ)
"Rim sized 18 inches with a width of 3.5 inches," he said. Whereas the rim which is made with a CNC process like this, his workshop has also been able to made it. "But the bike's owner wants to use the RSD products, not only the rims but there are other small trinkets," Ari said while pointing to the fuel tank cap up to throttle grip of RSD products.
At the tail remains in complete, there are a stop lamp that is hiding in the fender and the turn signal lights. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1gv8oZ)
"While on the chassis, only on the rear section were cut 5 cm so there's not too length," Ari said while giving a candy orange color in some parts of the motorcycle. In order to look more viscous with the scrambler style, then a rough pattern tires deliberately chosen. After that, the exhaust is also moved to the top with a short free flow pipe and please do not ask how its sounds? Immediately closed your ears..

The unusual custom touches on Honda Supra Fit moped

There are looks many differences which pinned on the 2007 Honda Supra Fit compared with the moped modification concept in general. The custom motorcycle which is a modification result of Saibun Panjaitan of Pekanbaru-based workshop named Afto Motor is totally out of the box. By carrying the classic board tracker concept, Afto Motor managed to display an unusual custom works.

When you first look at it, no one thought that the motorcycle was the Honda Supra Fit. Moreover, if you look at its cylinder block which had been modified from its original horizonal position changed to vertical, aka upright.

It wasn't easy to change the position of the cylinder block, because certainly could make all the components also changed. And of the modification data, the changing position process of cylinder block took a quite long time.

Due to the mounting-base of cylinder block should be made anew, while the original standard holes must be patched with re casted it. Not finished until there, to make the machine could be stand upright, the modifier shall make a new holes in the top of crankcase for the tracks of piston work, including four bolt holes of the block buffer and the oil lines.

Uniquely, for components such as crankshaft, piston completely not changed, alias still in its standard condition. To make the engine looks neat, some sectors deliberately polished and coated with chrome.
At the front placed a springer is combined with a unique handlebar, and completed witha small-sized custom fuel tank was hanging in the middle of the chassis. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1grltn)
Once completed on the machine, now turn to spruce the frames sector. Just like any other builder, the bike's frame was made manually of 3/4 inch seamless pipes.

Do not expect there's shock absorber on the back, because the board tracker style typically use rigid chassis. While at the front placed a springer is combined with a unique handlebar, and completed with the custom fuel tank was hanging in the middle of the chassis. Wow... That's a quite cool custom motorcycle isn't?

The figure of an old bike can also be made to be a younger

Although this bike is aged over 20 years, but 1996 Honda CB400SF was still able to perform with a grim look through a custom modifications with the concept of café racer style. Yes, this motorcycle is modified by a Rempoa-based workshop named Protechnics Moto, was also briefly displayed in the Kustomfest 2016 some time ago.

Compared with the original look, changes are made by Ari Supriyanto as the crew of Protechnics Moto is quite significant. If not confirmed from the machinery form and specification data, it's almost hard to recognize the motorcycle.

According to the specifications data, apparently Ari was not overhaul the whole of motorcycle's frame sector, but only cut slightly on the back. While the new body was made by hand made according to the concept of café racer style.

The motorcycle rear was made and shaped similar to a wasp tail as one hallmarks of café racer style, and not to forget also a stop lamp pinned in it. Then, for the bike's seat was made with single model and wrapped with brown synthetic leather.

Once satisfied with the bike's upper sector, it is now the turn of the legs also changed by him. In order to give stout impression, then the original front suspension was removed and replaced with the suspension of Suzuki GSX 1000, complete along with the braking system.

As for the rear suspension he selected the KYB products. As a result, more muscular appearance was obtained, especially after applying a pair of Batlaxx BT tires combined with three-spoke rims.

Furthermore, by giving more detail touch, so makes the motorcycle look became more manly and handsome. The effort done by Ari was customize the front shield by adopted the tracker style and directly equipped with two lights that intentionally was not placed in the middle but slightly to the left.

To give the fierce impression, dominance matte black color accidentally applied on the motorcycle, starting from the body up to the machine and legs plus a little gold accent on the front suspension. While the exhaust system adopt free-for-all models are designed by Ari himself and mated to an original 400 cc Honda engine, so you can imagine how was the sound of this motorcycle when you ignited it.

A crazy idea of Megapro Techno Fighter

The Honda Modif Contest 2016 event produced many cool and unique motorcycles. One of them, the work of Charles Wawolangi dubbed Megapro Techno Fighter.

"Initially, just thought to make an extreme motorcycle," said Charles. By the extreme word, then directing him to browse on internet and saw many forms of motorcycle concept. "From there,  I convinced myself to choose techno concept," explained the owner of the Manado-based workshop R1 MotorSport (in Jalan Wolter Monginsidi No. 173, Manado).

According to him, all parts installed on the motorcycle were custom made. Only the engine alone was left of the 2003 Honda Megapro. And the time required to build this bike was three months, and the most complicated process was the frames making.

Its techno nuance is realized by forming a new frames construction. The motorcycle frameworks are composed of several pipe sizes. Diameter of 2 inches were used to the main frame, while the size of 1.5 inches and 1 inch is made to the subframe.

Then the frame directly connected to the front wheels. The design was inspired after he saw the figure of Bimota Tesi. "I think the front frame construction which is directly connected with the front wheel represents the shape of modern design," he said further. While for the body, Charles chose the streetfighter motorcycle concept. By relying on the carbon fiber materials, the shape of the body was made with full sharp indentations.

According to Charles, the most unique part of this motorcycle is how to work motorcycle suspension. Therefore, it could go up and down so make it remains comfortable when riding on the highway.

"Even, to drive the motorcycle was no longer used the chain, but already replaced by the rubber belt. It make the sound of the bike is more subtle, because if used the chain certainly has a large size and also caused the noise when the motorcycle running." he said.
Due to all components are custom made, then the costs to build this bike is quite expensive, reaching $3,693 or approx Rp.50 million. However, Charles was satisfied, because it could be one of the winners and grabbed the title in the FFA under 2006 class at the Honda modification event.
