There's South Sumatra's ethnic touches on these custom built board tracker

The world's motorcycle design trends not only grow on the sport type motorcycle, now on the automatic scooter type is also starting to used by the builder.

Well, there's a 2007 Honda Vario 125 scooter custom-built with the boardtracker style done by a Palembang-based modification workshop named Tito Jaya Motor (in Sapta Marga street No.6, Kalidoni Perumnas - Palembang) worthy called as a qualified example.

Interestingly, in addition by changing its standard chassis that changed the scooter look into a boardtracker typical motorcycle, the presence of cultural themes are also thick felt on this motorcycle. Due to carrying the board tracker theme, so the most targeted changes was on the frame sector. Engineering process immediately conducted to generate a new bike's frame, and removed all the manufacturer defaults, leaving only its engine alone.

Not only that, as a result of the frame changes and also totally change the holder position of the suspension and swing arm, and now the motorcycle doesn't has the single swing arm on the rear, but has been replaced by a rigid model.

In fact, after the engine block is shifted slightly to the front and in order to drive the rear wheel the role of CVT rubber replaced by the chain.

There's Borobudur Temple on this bike

Nowadays, the concept design of the motorcycle boardtracker quite prevalent in the custom world, especially in Indonesia. This style first appeared in about the 1910s as the process of transition from bicycles into motorcycles in the velodrome tracks.

One of its earmarks, is on the rigid model framework. And one such as the works of Ariawan Wijaya from Jakarta-based workshop Custom Concept Industries (CCI) that was convert a 1972 Yamaha XS650 into boardtracker-styled motorcycle. For the motorcycle frame made by handmade, it using iron bars strung together. In addition to iron, brass also used as the material for making of the body and fuel tank, while aluminum was chosen as the material to make two drums of the bike.

While for the front suspension only uses the springer, Its legs made higher but uses a typical boardtracker tires which is not too big profile. Uniquely, the width of disc brakes are made equal to the width of the rims circumference, even for the footrests and handgrip were made of wood materials.

"For handmade materials, we combined all the local elements. Starting from iron, brass, aluminum, wood, and leather for upholstery and other sweetener materials," said Ari.

Interestingly, Ari wasn't forget to thicken the ethnic nuances on his boardtracker. With the theme of Javanese handcrave art, it carved directly on the engine block, fuel tank and some other accents that portray the greatness of Borobudur Temple. Due to that the motorcycle dubbed as the "Borotracker".

At last for finishing, all the touches of sweetener details through the copper color games in some sectors of the framework is done, the result is this motorcycle also appear similar to a golden chariot.

On the Edge: Yamaha XV 1900 Midnight Star's Prostreet Revolution

Unlike typical enthusiasts, Indra Syailendra embarked on a distinctive journey with his cherished Yamaha XV 1900 Midnight Star, opting for the Prostreet Revolution style. This unique venture guided him to Robot Motorworks, a prestigious Indonesian workshop in Yogyakarta known for groundbreaking motorcycle modifications.

Maintaining the powerhouse of the motorcycle, the V-Twin engine with a robust 1,800 cc capacity, Indra opted for a significant change in the cardiac pacemaker. The original injection system gave way to a carburetor, accompanied by a noteworthy switch in the ignition system to a CDI.

The metamorphosis extended to the frame and body, embracing a captivating old-school theme. The frame, designed with a rigid model, not only enhances the aesthetics but also opens up the engine sector for a more prominent display. Crafted from 4 mm seamless steel, the frame stands robust, providing ample support for the weight of the engine.

Substantial changes also graced the legs of the motorcycle. The front shock absorber system adopted a springer placed behind the headlamp, creating a unique visual appeal. Complementing this, the rear relied on a monoshock model, promising a comfortable ride for the adventurer.

Adding to the allure, the front shock absorber was intricately designed with grooves, ensuring sufficient distance from engine components. This space was ingeniously utilized to accommodate a custom 23-inch rim, while the rear featured an 18-inch wide rim adorned with Shinko tires.

Aesthetic finesse further unfolded through a meticulous play of black and gold colors. The carefully chosen palette resonates with contemporary motorcycle designs, adding a layer of sophistication. The tank, textured with fins and adorned with vibrant orange graphics, stands out as a testament to attention to detail. The prostreet chopper motorcycle exudes a sense of raw authenticity, accentuated by a custom exhaust resembling creeping roots that artfully decorates the engine.

All-new Honda Monkey Concept appeared at the IMOS 2016

After some time ago we published a tiny motorbike Kawasaki Z125 Pro as one of the rivals of the tiny motorcycle figure on which displayed at the Honda's booth at the Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS), 2016. 

Well on this occasion we also publish a similar tiny motorcycle concept called 'Honda Monkey Concept' made as a continuation of the sales success of Honda MSX 125 in Europe last year. This is what makes Honda so eager to make a continuation model by redesigning the MSX modern design combined with the classic style of the Honda Monkey.

Honda MSX or Grom, a Honda's motorcycle has a smaller size than a motorcycle in general, plus a stylish design makes it feel fun to drive. Honda tiny motorcycle concept retains classic design which could be seen at its rounded fuel tank. Then the seat also designed can accommodate one rider only.

What is interesting muffler has silincer just to the right seat. Though thick with a classic impression, but still there was a contemporary touch and so Honda Monkey Concept looks more modern. While in the engine, Honda Monkey Concept still holding the same machine to MSX is an air-cooled SOHC engine with a capacity of 125 cc. The power from the engine is channeled via the four-speed manual transmision system.

This cute motorcycle looks more handsome with a pair of upside down suspensions in front. While its rear suspention keep a pair and did not adopt the monoshock like on the Honda MSX. And the motorcycle concept used the tires measuring 120/80-12 and combined with disc braking system at front and rear wore the Nissin's 2 piston calipers at the front and one piston for the rear.

A tiny monster of Kawasaki

Kawasaki Z125 Pro motorcycles have a unique look with supermoto style combines with small body and engine. This motorcycle carrying a fuel injection 4 stroke, 2 valves, SOHC, engine with a capacity of 125 cc, which is mated to a four speed manual transmission system.

In the global market, Kawasaki Z125 Pro has a competitor ie Honda MSX125 known as Honda Grom. This little motorcycles was interested in Indonesia. This makes the PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI) as the brand holders agent of Kawasaki in Indonesia overwhelmed to meet demand.

Deputy Head of Sales and Promotion PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia Michael Chandra Tanadi said, although rarely seen on the streets, but the interest of consumers against this tiny motorcycle outside his company expectations.

"For the Kawasaki Z125 Pro we are overwhelmed. Its stock is always empty at the dealership so it must be booked in advance or indent. Our target of 50 units per month, there are now at 100 units per month. Beyond expectations," said Michael, some time ago.

He considered, the Z125 Pro models is different from most motorcycles marketed in Indonesia. This provoked a special attraction. "People are interested in this bike because its model (different). The Z125 Pro consumers generally people who really enjoys the motorcycles, but because the bike comfortable to use, so many are used to daily. Most demand in Jakarta and Bandung," he added.

Honda CB500F in touch a Classic Café Racer

PT. Astra Honda Motor (AHM) is also displayed several modified motorcycles in the exhibition of Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS) 2016. At least three motorcycles that have been shown, which is a type of sport CB500F and Vario 150 scooter and Beat. Of the three, the motorcycle with the most striking appearance at the Honda booth is CB500F.

With the concept of Techno café racer, Honda entrust the process to two Jakarta-based workshops, ie Baru Motor Sport (BMS) to modify the motorcycle and Tomi Airbrush to paint the whole body. The café racer style is identical to a typical seat.

However, there is no change in the engine that still rely on a 4 stroke, 8 valve engine with a capacity of 471 cc, which is capable of producing the power up to 35 kW at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 43 nm at 7,000 rpm. Those power is channeled to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
