Unique ONES - There are times when vehicle manufacturers create concept cars with unique designs just for experimentation. Usually concept cars are made to inform there is a new product that will be produced. Intentional or not, sometimes it's so unique, the car actually looks strange and labeled as the strangest car in the world.

And when any of these weird concept cars showed up, We bet sure everyone would be frowning while holding their chin after knew what did they see. So here is the 5 strange (at least in our opinion) concept cars might You not ever seen or known were ever existed specifically during 1980s to 1990s;

5. 1996 Ford Synergy 2010 Concept

Ford Motor Company unveiled the Ford Synergy 2010 Concept at the Detroit Auto Show 1996, giving a peek into the future family car designs and technology that they hoped to achieve with their newer models. It had a rear-mounted 1.0 engine and hybrid drive and employed advanced aerodynamics and solar-powered air-conditioning.

We'd say they somewhat missed the mark, as the Synergy body design is absolutely ridiculous and considering we haven't seen that Ford released concept car resembling anything like this. We thought Ford realized the Synergy was not the best concept either.

And our opinion the original intent for the Synergy was to create a car with advanced communication systems that was light weight and favored fuel efficiency above all else. Nevertheless, the Ford Synergy never came to market, and honestly We're glad that this concept never entered the company's production lines.

4. 1991 Isuzu Nagisa Concept

Isuzu also once made a car that can make You shake your head. The reason is, the concept car called Isuzu Nagisa Concept which resembles a small ship or jet boat. We bet sure the Isuzu Nagisa, really leaves you scratching your head and questioning whether the designers were not in Sake's drunk condition when they came up with such designs.

In Isuzu's defense, the Nagisa appears to be amphibious, which explains why it looks the way it does. But with amphibious cars being a niche product and no one in their right mind actually choosing to buy them, it seemed more of a joke. Still, it sure is one weird concept ever.

3. 1981 Ford Cockpit Concept

This is the second design from American automaker Ford to feature on this list of wacky concept cars of the late 1980’s and 1990’s. The Ford Cockpit Concept is projected to achieve fuel economy better than 75 miles per gallon in city driving.

The three-wheeled car, which seats two persons in tandem, was so named because it resembles the cockpit of a fighter plane featured with the hinged canopy lifts hydraulically. The unique-shaped Ford's concept car designed by Carrozzeria Ghia in Turin, Italy, and is powered by a 12-horsepower, 200cc, single-cylinder engine mounted inside the rear wheel.

It is 119 inches long, 56 inches wide, 48 inches high, and weighs 770 pounds (about one-third the weight of today’s Ford Escort). The unique Cockpit three-wheeler concept is debuted as a featured attraction in the Ford Division’s 1981 Auto Show Exhibition.

2. 1980 Briggs & Stratton Hybrid Concept

As we all know, the transition to environmentally friendly technology has been going on for a long time. This has also been done by Briggs & Stratton, a company known for making generators and lawn mowers, but tried to make cars in 1980.

Instead of doing something simple, like a gas-powered car with a front engine and rear-wheel drive, the company directly to the hybrid technology. The result is a weird looking two-door, six-wheeled hatchback called Briggs & Stratton Hybrid Concept.

The company uses a 4-speed manual transmission and front suspension from Ford Pinto, while some body parts from Volkswagen Scirocco. As You can see for yourself how strange this six-wheeled hybrid concept car from Briggs & Stratton looks.

1. 1980 Citroën Karin Concept

Citroën has also made a concept car that has quite a strange looking concept car called Citroën Karin Concept is designed by Trevor Fiore. Apart from being a pyramid shape, this concept car with the name Karin looks strange thanks to the large headlights that almost take up the entire front-fascia. Having such a like of the pyramid, the windshield of this car looks wide, so the driver's visibility was sit in the middle is not disturbed.

Besides has unique shape, the Trevor Fiore designed concept car also can accommodate three occupants inside the cabin with composition of two passengers on the right and left of the driver who sits in the middle.

And this is the pinnacle of the weirdest concept cars ever, as odd as its pyramid-like shape would make people willingly jostle to get a look at it like what they did while the car debuted at the 1980 Paris Auto Show then. 

Those are 5 unique concept cars whose existence is rarely known by the public (based on our opinion), however, it does not rule out the possibility that there are many more concept vehicles like that which may be more unique but have not been included in the list.
