All-New Lincoln Star electric SUV concept set debuted by 2025

Next EV After a few days ago we already discussed about the latest Lincoln Model L100 Concept, and what do you think about this electric SUV concept car made by the American automaker before? It looks like Lincoln as one of the automotive brands under the Ford Motor Company is getting more serious to develop electric-powered vehicles through its first EV concept called the Lincoln Star Concept

This concept car is touted as a statement for Lincoln's ambitious vehicle electrification plans, besides also to showcase its planned electric car lineup will be launched over the next few years. As you can see, the Lincoln Star Concept is an SUV since the company became an all-SUV brand after the Continental model was discontinued back in the 2020.

On the front, the screen that spans the dashboard follows the current trend of luxury cars todays. The transparent roof pillars with 3D metal lattice aim to create a sense of spaciousness in each row of seats.
Although the interior of Lincoln Star Concept is featured with a long way off production-ready, especially the curved dashboard screen, but the passenger seats spin 180-degrees is pretty cool, though. (Picture from: Autocar)
Lincoln also uses electrochromic glass that can switch from transparent to opaque, letting light into the cab while driving or hiding items stored when parked. The rear cargo area also has a small folding sofa. Unfortunately, Lincoln hasn't revealed any technical details about the Star Concept yet, but the American automaker says that the electric SUV is based on a special electric-powered vehicle architecture that will underpin future models and can accommodate rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Lincoln itself plans to launch this third electric car by 2025, then followed the fourth by 2026. Lincoln expects more than half of its global sales volume to be electric vehicles by mid-decade. This is an ambitious plan for a manufacturer without electric cars in its current lineup.
Well, that's such an aggressive electrification strategy may also be needed to keep up with another luxury brands such as Audi, BMW, Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz. As we all knew that those manufacturers already have several electric-powered car models on sale or in development, along with their own ambitious sales targets. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LINCOLN | AUTOCAR | ]
