The Alfa Romeo Severtail that You've never known before

~Unique ONE~ The existence of this car may not be widely known by the public, because this car was made once, besides that it may also be because it has been overlooked from the start. Maybe after seeing the picture maybe many will say that it is the ugliest Alfa Romeo ever, even though, this classic car has won the elegance contest in its era.
1967 Alfa Romeo Severtail is a unique-shaped one-off coupe is built by Carrozzeria Dario Casale of Bassano del Grappa based on the 1965 Alfa Romeo 105 Giulia GT Veloce 1600's platform and mechanics. (Picture from: TopMarques S.r.l.)
The classic car in question is the Alfa Romeo Severtail which is a unique-shaped one-off 4-seater coupe is built based on the 1965 Alfa Romeo 105 Giulia GT Veloce 1600's platform and mechanics by Carrozzeria Dario Casale of Bassano del Grappa in 1967. If you're curious about the donor car's design, watch the video below:
As quoted from AlfaBB, it was stated that the car making was initiated by a friend of Dario Casale named Consalvo Sanesi who managed to persuade him to improve and given refinements to the Alfa Romeo car as a whole. The car is powered by an 1,570cc engine developed by Trivellato that allows this car to run up to 220 kph.

The classic car's bodywork is made entirely of aluminum which is molded by English wheel in such a way as to create a harmonic design. At first glance, the Alfa Romeo Severtail looks similar to the Alfa Romeo TZ made by Carrozzeria Zagato, especially on the back which both applies the Kamm-tail.

So no wonder if the car had success since the year of its presentation in 1967. As quoted of Carrozzieri-Italiani, the Alfa Romeo Severtail managed to win in second place of the Concorso d'Eleganza which was held at the nearby ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo, and Consalvo Sanesi was proudly smile behind the wheels at the time.

After Dario Casale passed away, his coachbuilder company was acquired by the Pilate Group, and reportedly the car is still owned by the Casale family in good condition and regularly attends several annual automotive exhibition events such as the Concorso d'Eleganza Cortina d'Ampezzo, etc. For the last time, this unique-shaped classic car was on display at the Top Marques S.r.l. in 2017. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARROZZIERI-ITALIANI | ALFABB | DUETTOCLUB.IT | HISTORICAUTOPRO || AUTOCLUB99.RU | TOPMARQUES ]
