A Student-Designed 900 hp Hybrid Supercar

Let's looking back for a while, when the potential talented young designers stunned the world's automotive by their concept car design called IED Syrma

The supercar design is made by the students at the Turino-based automotive designer college named Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), in cooperation with Quatroruote, an Italian automotive magazine and displayed at the 85th Geneva International Motor Show in 2015.

Syrma concept presents a "fullscale" study of an extreme sports car with the decisiveness of 1+2 composition and focused on safety. Creation is characterized by extreme proportions, a length of 4,730 mm, a width of 1,980 mm.

The concept possesses a hybrid engine which is combined with aggregate electric motor V6, with a total power of 900 hp. This is the 11th concept to come from Turin’s IED (the same automotive designer college that helped Hyundai build the PassoCorto concept in previous year), and it’s one of the best.

The car is powered by a rear-engined hybrid system. A twin-turbo, 4-liter gas engine is paired with an electric engine to create 900 horsepower that goes straight into the rear wheels. If the driver so chooses, there is an available option to run on electric-only, though range numbers were announced.
Speaking of the driver, this concept inspired by McLaren’s F1 car with staggered three-person seating. The front seat is centered on a more driver-oriented position and better visibility. In addition to the central seating, other safety-focused features include laser message projection when the car is in silent electric mode and a “teardrop windscreen” that is intended to protect the cabin. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BOLDRIDE]
