This stunning concept car didn’t make its first appearance on a road or at a dealership, but instead blazed onto screens in Gran Turismo 6, the iconic PlayStation 3 racing game. Still, Mercedes didn’t stop there. In a bold move, they brought the car into the real world—unveiling a full-scale 1:1 model during the opening of their new Research and Development Center in Sunnyvale, California on November 19, 2013. For a concept born in code, that was a massive leap into physical presence.

Created specifically for the Vision Gran Turismo design challenge, this car represents Mercedes-Benz’s interpretation of the perfect machine when freed from the usual limits of production. The AMG design team took the lead, delivering a vision that fuses classic soul with future ambition. And the result? Nothing short of breathtaking.

The AMG Vision GT wears its inspiration on its body. Elements ofthe legendary 300SL and the SLS AMGare visible in its curves, but they’ve been evolved into something sharper, sleeker, and far more aggressive. The proportions scream speed—low-slung, wide-shouldered, and draped in futuristic detail. It's the kind of design that feels like it belongs in both a sci-fi movie and a collector’s dream garage.

Underneath that stunning surface lies a handcrafted AMG biturbo V8 engine that pushes out 585 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. That kind of performance needs a chassis to match, which is why the body is made from a mix of aluminum and carbon fiber, keeping the total weight down to just 1,385 kilograms. And to rein in all that power? AMG high-performance ceramic composite brakes step up for the job.
What sets this concept apart isn't just the specs or the silhouette—it’s the way it bridges two worlds.
