Lambofiat Murciéquento: Superbug with the Wild Bull Power

Tiny BEAST - The world of custom car building always brings out fascinating projects, and few are as captivating as the Fiat 500 with Lamborghini Murciélago V12 engine. It’s the type of creation that leaves you wondering about the sheer creativity behind it. What goes through the minds of the Oemmedi Meccanica tuner crew when they decide to swap a 479 cc engine for a massive 6,200 cc V12 from a Lamborghini? The contrast between the humble, tiny Fiat 500 and the raw power of a Lamborghini Murciélago seems almost unimaginable.

To transform this classic Italian microcar, the team at Oemmedi Meccanica had to go through a complete overhaul of the vehicle’s structure. They began by stripping the car down to its frame, leaving nothing of the original construction untouched. One of the biggest challenges was redesigning the front deck and firewall to fit the Lamborghini Murciélago’s 6-speed gearbox. It wasn't just a matter of shoehorning the engine into the back; the entire rear section was also modified to house the powerful V12 engine, pushing into the passenger cabin. This meant sacrificing a significant part of the original Fiat 500's charm to make room for an engine that produces 580 horsepower.

The exterior also had to undergo significant changes. The Fiat 500’s narrow body could never support the wide wheels needed to handle the power of a Lamborghini engine, so all four original fenders were removed. In their place, a custom widebody kit was designed to retain the rounded lines that made the Fiat 500 so iconic while accommodating the much wider stance required. The result is a car that looks muscular and aggressive, yet still retains a nod to its original design.

Once the extensive mechanical modifications were completed, Oemmedi Meccanica gave the car a final touch—a sleek matte black paint job. This bold finish accentuates the car’s transformation from a quaint city car to a monstrous road beast. It’s hard to believe that underneath the matte black exterior lies the soul of a Lamborghini Murciélago, and while Oemmedi Meccanica hasn’t revealed the top speed of this Lambofiat Murciéquento, it’s easy to imagine that this could very well be one of the most formidable Fiat 500s ever built.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Oemmedi Meccanica has tackled such ambitious projects. They've previously installed a Ferrari V8 engine into another Fiat 500, as well as a Porsche Carrera 6-cylinder engine in a similar project. These daring engine swaps show their commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of car tuning.
It’s clear that what started as a tiny Italian car has been reimagined as a true performance machine, blending the heritage of the Fiat 500 with the heart of a Lamborghini. While it may not be the fastest car in the world, its uniqueness and sheer audacity make it a standout. Oemmedi Meccanica’s bold vision has transformed this Fiat 500 into something unforgettable.
