The Milan-based company create Segoni Special G800 Oro, where in Italy and Spain 'Oro' means "Gold", which is then translated by Segoni Special into a café racer styled motorcycle, and supported by 24-karat gold plated on its chrome molibdenum frame.

This sports car powered by saltwater

It had appeared at the Geneva Motor Show 2014, the Quant e-SportLimousine sports car concept managed to amaze the visitors. Not only because of its design that combines a sporty and futuristic concept, but also its driving force. Yes, the sports car is powered by saltwater.

The concept car of NanoFlowcell brings the technology ever used the US space agency (NASA). But mechanically, the car is not as simple as imagined, which is just to fill the tank with sea water.

Based on development models on display at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, Quantino, the concept works like a glimpse of batteries or accumulators. There are two tanks that are used each with a capacity of 159 liters. The both tanks are filled with different liquid electrolyte, one positive and the other negative. Both are separated by a membrane, but there is a meeting point of the two types of the liquid where the results of the meeting to produce electricity.

Quantino electric motor capable of producing the power up to 136 hp. The car's acceleration from 0-100 kilometers per hour can be achieved in 5 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h. Although still a prototype, but the car has been legally to be used on public roads.

So, how can the salt water can drive the wheels of a car? The salt water, called the bi-Ion that is both organic and inorganic salt solution. NASA did research in 1970 but gave up because of the energy it produces is so weak.

However, the findings were further developed by NanoFlowcell. Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of NanoFlowcell, Nunzio la Vecchia curious to be able to refine these findings. After 16 years of deepening, he was able to find a breakthrough of electric energy from the brine whose energy is able to beat the lithium ion batteries.

Unfortunately, Vecchia reluctant to reveal his findings because the patent is still pending. But he's a give a little leak. Each bi-Ion contain positive and negative charges.

Automobiles pumping liquids through the membrane and meet at one point and produce electricity. Saline had met the then evaporate and disappear in the air. Nevertheless the liquid is not dangerous anymore.

Over time, the liquids in the tank will be depleted. The tank can be filled again with saline so the next. The advantage, salt water easily produced and widely available. But not just any salt water, there is still a secret formulation by NanoFlowcell.

NanoFlowcell continues to develop its products. However affirmed by Vecchia, his company not a car manufacturer but rather engaged in the field of technology. And cars ever made, as well as Quantino, Quant e-Sportlimousine will not be sold.

However NanoFlowcell already in talks with the major automotive companies to explore the sale of this technology in 2017.. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BBC]

Ötzi could talk again after 5,300 years of silence

Have you ever imagined how the voice of someone who has died? Especially, the person had died thousands of years ago? This is what is being attempted by a team of Italian scientists, they are trying to hear the voice of the mummy when he was alive. And apparently, they managed to make a mummy called 'Ötzi the Iceman' back to talk.

As we have known that Ötzi was a Neolithic man who died and preserved in the Ötz Valley, on the border of Austria and Italy since 5,300 years ago. And with the help of computer software and a 3D model of the Iceman’s vocal tract based upon CT scans of his mummified body, a group of scientists managed to rediscover the ancient man's voice.

The team of scientists managed to find the back of the vocal cords, throat, and mouth of Otzi, so it allows them to re-generate the sound of Ötzi digitally. His voice is estimated to have frequencies between 100 to 150 Hertz, similar as the ordinary man today.

Rolando Füstös, the lead researcher and Laryngology expert at San Maurizio Hospital, Bolzano says, "We can not said fully succeeded in reproducing the sound of Ötzi, because there are still important information fails to be obtained."
"However, by using two lengths of the vocal tract and vocal cords, we managed to reproduce the estimated almost similar to the original sound of the mummy in question," added Rolando.. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE HUFFINGTON POST]

These partnership project with a Ford dealership is the most phenomenal of Lego creations until now. This American muscle car icon has a sized of 4.5 m in length, 1.8 m width and 1.2 m high with a total weight of 776 kg.

As the foundation, they used an aluminum 'chassis' and then the composition of Lego and Duplo strung on it until formed the posture of the coupe. Viewed from any angle, this art work looks like the original even though it was like watching a video game cartoon.

Uniquely, the car's lights work like the original one. Legoland also added speakers that produce sound of Mustang V8 engine to make it more dramatic.

Human lifespan has been outlined up to 115 years

The age of humans have a limit. Recent research reveals that the age limits of human is 115 years old. Maybe there are people who can live more of that age, but it will be very little. Dr. Jan Vijg, a geneticist from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York conducted the research by analyzing the data of human deaths in 38 countries.
Researchers find That Human lifespan has a max limit. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1elbFG)
He and his colleagues found, with increased knowledge about nutrition and medical advances at the beginning of the industrial era, human lifespan is increasing rapidly. However, he also found that since 1980, the life expectancy of humans tend not to grow, survive in the figure of 99 years, although the medical technology continues to advance.
An analysis of global demographic data published in Nature suggests that humans have a fixed shelf life, and that the odds of someone beating Calment’s record are low—although some scientists question this interpretation. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1elaqB)
Vijg also analyzed the data from the International Database of Longevity focused on those who broke the world record as the oldest man. He found that in Japan, France, Britain and the United States, the numbers of the oldest age increased rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s, but stands at 114.9 in the mid-1990s.

Based on these findings, Vijg analysis by considering genetic factors and technological advances. He then concluded that the limit of human lifespan is 115 years old. There may be people who live longer than that figure, but the amount is very small. Opportunities happened just one of 10,000 in any given year.

"You would expect there's another Jeanne Calments (a French citizens who lived 122 years, she died in 1997), but it will not," said Vijg as quoted by Nature, on October 5, 2016.

The Vijg research sparked debates. James Vaupel of the Max Planck Institute for Demographic reserarch in Germany said the human lifespan continues to increase long in some countries such as Japan.

Vaupel said the Vijg research did not consider all sides. Vijg itself admits that human life in Japan continues to rise, but the increase a little.

Aubrey de Grey of SENS Research Foundation of Mountain View in California who studied biotechnology ageless said, the Vijg research was not consider the future medical technology.

"The results of this research is true, but not yet incorporate potential future medical advances, medical only the present and the past," she said. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE NEW YORK TIMES | EXTREMETECH]
