Zika infection thought to be spreaded through the Tears

Zika virus can live in the eye and left its genetic material into tears. Thus the results of a study conducted by a team of researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, Washington University in St. Louis. The study helps explain why some patients infected with Zika suffered eye diseases, including inflammation of the uvea which can cause permanent blindness.

"Our research shows that the eyes can be a host for Zika virus. We need to consider whether a patient is infected Zika had infectious virus in their eyes, and how long the virus was settled, "said Michael S. Diamond, one of the study's senior author.
The Aedes aegypti mosquito has been blamed for spreading Zika but scientists believe there must be another factor involved. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dqVDX)
The researchers conducted experiments on mice to determine the effects Zika infection in the eye. As a result, they found live virus in the eyes of mice seven days later. These observations confirm that Zika virus can move into the eye.

Eye infection increases a person's chances of contracting infection through contact with water Zika eyes of patients Zika. The researchers found that mice infected tear containing RNA Zika Zika virus, but the virus was not found penginfeksi time of the test after 28 days the infected mice.

"Although we did not find any live virus in mice tears, does not mean it can not be transmitted to humans," said Jonathan J. Miner, lead author of the study. Miner added: There may be a time when the tears can infect people who come into contact, and finally to transmit the virus.

In the eye, the immune system is less active than in other body parts. It aims to avoid accidental damage to the tissue that plays a role in vision when the immune system is fighting infection. When immunity is reduced, as a result, there is often a lag in the eye infection after cleaning of the whole body.
This visual abstract the findings of Miner et al., who describe how ZIKV infection in the eye results in inflammation and injury. ZIKV infected the iris, cornea, retina, and optic nerve and caused conjunctivitis, panuveitis, and neuroretinitis in mice. This manuscript establishes a model for evaluating treatments for ZIKV infections in the eye. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dqVR9)
"We plan to conduct human studies to determine whether the virus is transmitted is in the cornea or other parts of the eye, because it can have an impact on corneal transplantation," said Rajendra S. Apte, a senior author of the study.

He said the research was important because viruses such as herpes also inadvertently transmitted through corneal transplantation. Researchers Zika now more expensive modes of transmission Zika because the virus is spreading more rapidly than expected. Besides mosquitoes, several factors may be contributing to its spread.

"Sexual transmission may not be the primary, but can other body fluids, such as saliva, urine or tears," said Diamond, who is an associate professor of molecular microbiology, pathology and immunology.

Infection Zika became the world's attention as it spread rapidly throughout the world and can cause brain damage and death of the fetus. About a third of the number of babies infected during pregnancy Zika suffered eye diseases such as inflammation of the optic nerve, retinal damage or blindness after birth. In adults, Zika can cause conjunctivitis-redness and itching eyes, and in rare cases, can cause inflammation of the uvea. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SCIENCEDAILY | INDEPENDENT]

World's most mysterious manuscripts to be cloned

Voynich manuscript, a mysterious book has been frustrating the code breakers and linguists over a century. This manuscript will be cloned to 898 copies to help solve other experts.

Siloe, a Spanish publishing company has secured the right to make an exact replica of the original manuscripts, which were locked in the Beinecke Library at Yale University.
It's one of the world's most mysterious books; a centuries-old manuscript written in an unknown or coded language that no one has cracked. Now after a ten-year quest for access, Siloe, a small publishing house has secured the right to clone the Voynich manuscript. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dqTHG)
Page of the book has been available online, but the touches are there in the manuscript can not we catch only via the Internet, said Juan Jose Garcia, director of the publishing house.

Siloe, which is specialized in producing a facsimile of the old manuscripts, will make 898 replicas of Voynich manuscript. The numbers to reproduce the manuscript as a mystery of code found there - 898, rows of numbers which if read will remain the same, even from the back or front.
Scholars have spent their lives puzzling over the Voynich manuscript, whose intriguing mix of elegant writing and drawings of strange plants and naked women has some believing it holds magical powers. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dqTHG)
The manuscript duplication process will take over 18 months and requires special paper that has been provided by the company. "We call it a Voynich challenge," said Garcia further.

He also added that Siloe's plans to sell manuscript duplicates was worth of US $7,800 to 8,900. And as much as 300 ordering of the manuscript duplicates have been accepted by the company.
Only slightly bigger than a paperback, the book contains over 200 pages including several large fold-outs.  Scores have tried to decode the Voynich, including top cryptologists such as William Friedman who helped break Japan's 'Purple' cipher during World War II. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dqTHG)
As the most mysterious manuscript in the world, this book takes its name from the man who found it, Wilfrid Voynich. He found the book in 1912 in the Villa Mondragone, near Rome. He claimed that the manuscript belonged to the Habsburg Emperor Rudolf II, who lived in the 16th century.
The 240 pages of the book are made from a type of parchment produced using calf skin, known as vellum, and are decorated with illustrations, diagrams and a mysterious text written from left to right. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dqTHG)
The book is expected to have 250,000 garbled characters. Writings consist of a group of words and sentences that use Latin letters and Roman numerals. While other letters seem not of any known language.

There are drawings made by hand scratches as pictures of plants can not be identified, astrological symbols, a network of pipes, and naked girls who were bathing in a strange green liquid.

Finally, the researchers separating the theme of manuscripts in five parts: herbs, astrology, biology, medicine, and recipes.

"The purpose and content of the Voynich manuscript will reveal the deep mysteries," said Marcelo Montemurro, a theoretical physicists of the University of Manchester in England, and Damian Zanette of Statstical Physics Group in Argentina, write in a paper in 2013 which was published in the Plos One journal.

Initially, Voynich believed that the book was written by Roger Bacon, an English scientist of the 13th century, but his theory faulted in 2011 when the book turns known from the 15th century. But until now the original intent of the manuscript still a puzzle.

"Since the 17th century, many efforts to solve the script has generated a lot of success, but none of them are quite convincing," says Montemurro.

Many speculations are popping up saying that this manuscript was made by religious sects, who just wrote a document of a language that has been forgotten, unbreakable secret code, and the recipe for eternal life.

By using a computerized method to analyze text, Montemurro demonstrate a language structural pattern followed by the manuscript. Currently, some Voynich replicas will be a collection of museums and libraries in the hope there will be someone who managed to crack the code someday. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DAILY MAIL]

Being an automotive designers is not an easy matter. Not just limited to designing the future four-wheeled vehicles, but there are also tasked to capture the legacy of race cars in the past which was later translated into new forms, such as a motorcycle for example. Although the design of these vehicles will be produced or not, but certainly the design should have a character of four-wheel vehicles in its new body as the two-wheeled vehicles.

This is seen to be done by an automotive designer named Mehmet Doruk Erdem. Where the designer unveiled a motorcycle concept named 'Alfa Romeo Spirito.' Uniquely, he was chosen a liquid-cooled BMW engine for the drivetrain of motorcycle concept. As quoted of Autoevolution, it may be because he really likes this power plant or BMW, or because the cylinder heads protruding through the bodywork look great.

As the vehicle concepts like always, so don't expect this vehicle form is present in order to accommodate the comfort and functionality. Because of the pictures released, the motorcycle concept took the design of Alfa Romeo's classic long hood and certainly is not comfortable to ride as a motorcycle, ranging from the turning radius until the straight road stability.

When viewed at a glance, it looks like a motorcycle in a fiction movie titled 'Tron.' However, Erdem is considered to have successfully brought the spirit of Alfa Romeo into a new form. Now, the heritage attached on the 1920s racing cars began to evolve and become an entertainment thanks to creativity of the auto designer.
