What do you think of when seeing this boulder? Surely you would have just said seemed like a normal rock, right. But if we doing close examination, the boulder weighing 1.5 tons is far from the usual, you know.
This unique fire boulder in the forest which is also part of an outdoor museum in Germany is an art installation with fire-powered WiFi router and USB drive hidden inside. As quoted of Odditycentral on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, this boulder named 'Keepalive' made by Aram Bartholl was an invention is tried to highlight the contrast between ancient and modern survival techniques.

Bartholl explains the inspiration to combine the concept of primitive and modern life comes from the view of people selling the BioLite stove. With no electricity, people correctly use fire stove powered to power their devices to stay connected.
"It's funny, when the power goes out then people will buy this little stove and set a fire to charge their cell phones," said Bartholl.
Therefore he created a rock that is exclusively focused on the energy produced by the thermoelectric generator that can convert heat into electricity. The visitors at the Springhornhof museum also need to go back to the basics of survival and made a fire next to a rock to use installation. When the amount produced is hot enough, then they can connect to the router by using a smartphone.
"It's not easy access. We will need something like this in the future, or someone will find it in the next hundred years. There are times where we would need for the fire to get access to the data," he added. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | ODDITYCENTRAL]
Mahindra Two Wheelers launched three motorcycle concept based on its flagship motorcycle, Mojo. Here they are, Mahindra Mojo Scrambler, Mahindra Mojo Adventure Tourer, and Mahindra Mojo Tribe. Those 3 motorcycle concepts have been shown at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016, which held in February 5 to 9, 2016.
The first is the Srambler motorcycle concept. Although based of Mojo, it has little in common with motorcycles aesthetic. The concept features a custom designed more larger fuel tank, round headlights are equipped with guards.
Like the scrambler, the seat is made short with brown color genuine leather. Its frame painted in black color so it looks tough except on the exhaust with the silver color.
The second concept is the Adventure one. Like a dirt bike that uses 2 offroad tires combined with black rims. Custom swing-arm, a fuel jerry cans for backup and the bags to store items needed during the journey through the mountains on the side of the pillion seat.
And the last variant of Mojo-based motorcycle concept which also exhibited at the event, named Mojo Tribe, a club for the owners of the Mojo motorcycle. The riding group is designed to promote motorcycle riding and the company released a theme song for the group.
The company has also showcased custom painted Mojo bikes draped in White and Copper, Matte Red and Black, and Matte Yellow and Black. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | INTERNATIONAL BUSSINESS TIMES | INDIANAUTOSBLOG]
People have a lot of words to describe cockroaches, including squalid, ugly, sly, and disgusting. But maybe it's time to add a new surprising word ie inspiring. As said by the scientists on Monday, February 8, 2016 that they build a small robot with a search and rescue capability inspiration cockroaches through the gap is very narrow which is designed to find the survivors after a natural disaster or bombing.
"They taught us the essential design principles," said Robert Full, professor of integrated biology of University of California-Berkeley on the research whose results were published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Using a specially designed obstacle, the researchers observed how the cockroaches scurrying, in less than one second through a gap smaller than a quarter of their height by compressing their exo skeleton joint becomes a half. After being in the gap, the cockroaches can move quickly, almost 20 times its body length per second, with the legs fully stretched out to the sides.
"If you enlarge to the size of a human, it would be equivalent to about 70 miles per hour (113 kilometers per hour), more than double the speed of the fastest runners," said Kaushik Jayaram, a biologist of Harvard University who worked on the research while at UC-Berkeley.

The researchers say cockroaches height of about half an inch (13 millimeters) when they run free, but they can compress the body to one-tenth inch (2.5 millimeters) for through the cracks. Experts have studied the movement of the animal to make a robot that can maneuver in a difficult environment.
"Nature has a library of design ideas. This diversity enables the discovery. You never know where basic research will lead. The most important discovery of the often unpredictable creatures, some of which is disgusting," Full said.
The observations include on the species Periplaneta americana, the American cockroaches, inspired the design of soft-bodied robot prototypes with many legs called CRAM (Compressible with Articulated Robot Mechanisms), which in the future could be used to help to find the survivors in the rubble.
"This robot is simple and inexpensive with a length of 18 centimeters, 7.6 centimeters heigh and weighing about 46 grams was constructed using similar production techniques of origami," Jayaram said as quoted of Reuters. However it has greatness, that could reorient its legs and squeezes him like cockroaches for through the limited vertical space, he added. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | UPI | REUTERS]
Volkswagen seemed to be ready to bring a new surprise for their retro car fans. Because VW is preparing one of the classic models of the Volkswagen Transporter T1 redesigned by an automotive designer named David Obendorfer.
As reported Worldcarfans on Monday, February 15, 2016, the facelift of VW's classical model coming soon in the market the next few years. But what we’ve got here is an interesting design exercise depicting T6-based retro-styled passenger and cargo vans, carrying the 'T1 Revival Concept' name.

BMW K1600GT seemed to be booming into the base material modification process carried out by the multinational builder. Impression of luxury as premium large-engined motorcycles similar Honda Goldwing, Triumph Trophy SE and Yamaha FJR1300A is the main attraction for this BMW's burly motorcycle.
Valtoron which is one modifier that has a big name, which in the end of tether their heart on the BMW K1600 GT then regenerates the latest masterpiece called 'Valtoron La Bulla'.
La Bulla made based on the design of classic cafe racer which born from the brain of a creator named Raphael Muyor. Early workmanship on its body carried by polishing the whole motorcycle's body with clay. Then Delgado brothers who own and operate Valtoron Motorcycles in Madrid, Spain were adept at playing the forms of motorcycle body, then cover it with aluminum in order to blend into a moncocoque chassis.

As reported last year that there is a super-fast advanced aircraft called Skreemr. The aircraft concept designed by Ray Mattison and Charles Bombardier claimed to be able to travel from New York to London in just 30 minutes. This means traveling between the two countries will probably take you less time than driving in downtown New York stuck in traffic.
As reported by Ubergizmo on Monday, February 15, 2016, Charles Bombardier is currently re-introduce another new aircraft concept named 'The Antipode'. This latest concept is considered to be defeated the Skreemr, because The Antipode able to travel between New York and London in just 11 minutes.

In addition, the aircraft will also be powered by reusable liquid-oxygen or rocket kerosene. Not only capable of being able to fly to London a short time. The aircraft is also offered, traveling from New York to Dubai for 22 minutes, then to Hong Kong in 26 minutes, and go to Sydney in 32 minutes.
Of course, this plane is still a concept and there are still many technical details that need to be spelled out. For instance, how's the plane to slow or how's it able to handle the high temperatures generated during the flight and others. However, beyond all that this concept model is an amazing achievement. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | UBERGIZMO]
