Vespa GTS 300 ABS spreading its charm in India

Piaggio showcased their latest products at the Auto Expo 2016, held in New Delhi, India. The motorcycle is the Vespa GTS 300 ABS. This bike seems to invite a lot of attention because has an attractive appearance, but the model is not on sale in India.

As reported by Indianautosblog on Friday, February 12, 2016, the Vespa GTS 300 has a length of 1,930 mm, width 755 mm, height 1,370 mm and the distance between the seat to the ground 790 mm.

Vespa GTS 300 uses a liquid-cooled single cylinder engine and has a capacity of 278 cc with electronic fuel injection devices. It is also mentioned, that the machine can produce up to 21.48 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and torque of 23 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The entire power will be distributed to a CVT with torque server.

Another feature that is embedded in the Vespa GTS 300 is a single arm Enhanced Sliding Suspension (ESS), plus a hydraulic shock absorber. The rear suspension that comprises of coil spring with four adjustable preload positions and double acting hydraulic shock absorber.

For safety reason while riding then there were also features with 220 mm stainless steel disc brake with hydraulic control at the front and rear that is governed bydual channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation).

Ferrari GTC4 Lusso introduced as a new concept

From their headquarters in Maranello, Italy, Ferrari announced on Tuesday, that the launch of Ferrari GTC4 Lusso as a new "breed" of Ferrari four-seats which signifies a big change of the Grand Tourer concepts that has a strong sense of sport, be the integration of the two types of drive systems, ie two-wheel and four-wheels drives.

With most new cars launched, meaning Ferrari broaden the spectrum of their luxury sports cars. Now the owners and users who want to experience driving a Ferrari anywhere and anytime, can fulfill their desire to Ferrari GTC4 Lusso.

Ferrari GTC4 Lusso developed from its predecessor, the 330 GTC or its 2 + 2 twinning model, 330 GT. It is also a favorite of Enzo Ferrari, and the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso, which inherited the delicate combination of elegance and high performance.

Turning to the engine, Ferrari GTC4 Lusso carrying the 12-cylinder engine that gives very strong power, consistent, yet soft, with the power up to 690 CV at 8,000 rpm. Both the ratio of power and weight with figures of 2.6 kg/cv or higher compression, 13.5 : 1, becoming its own record in this category. The maximum torque of 697 Nm at 5,750 rpm and 80 percent of the torque can be achieved at just 1,750 rpm. Very responsive.

On the side of the movement on the highway, it wears a new four-wheel drive system called 4RM system that is integrated with the rear wheel steering system for the first time. As a result, the new system patented 4RM-S, which combines Side Slip Control system (4.0), which works in conjunction with diferensia electronics (E-Diff) and the SCM-E damper.

This crazy supercharged HEMI Trike will blow your mind!

Jay Leno has lots of crazy vehicles in his garage but, this trike is really something else.  It gets its 3 wheels on the road and gets as expansive as it may be. This is definitely the craziest 3-wheeled creation and now you have a chance to see it.

Also known as the Rocket II Trike, this giant is fabricated around a supercharged HEMI V8 and a 3-speed transmission that is completely automated. This crazy trike designed by Tim Cotterill (Frogman) is originally from Leicester, England.  Tim is a sculpture that is currently working out of Venice Beach, California and is well known for his frog sculptures…

Tim from an earl age started hot rodding motorized bar stools and then moved on to motorcycles like Triumph.  He was attracted to California and the 70’s easy rider choppers that lured him more into the motorcycle scene.

Years later after building a very succesful sculpture business Tim joined forces with Michael ‘Blastolene’ Leeds to build the Frogman Rocket II. But as the two mechanics describe their work of art as “Two mechanical maniacs meet and create the ultimate bad ass”.  Three years in the making the finished product produced 1000+ horsepower with a blown Hemi V8 with an aluminum hand built body.

Here it is, 2-stroke diesel engine with turbo and supercharger

What do you imagine when heard about 2-stroke engines? Toned? Gasoline wasteful? Oil wasteful? Smoky? High emissions? Yes, because they are not efficient in fuel consumption and bad emission levels, and now 2-stroke engines slowly disappearing from the automotive world.

But for Renault, 2-stroke engines still make them curious to explore further the potential of this machine. In 2014, Renault had already made a very unique prototype of two-stroke diesel engine. Why unique? Just look at the specifications, 730 cc, two-stroke, two-cylinder engine with an additional turbo and supercharger.

It is very unique, because usually the diesel engine with a capacity of 1,000 cc, 4-cylinder, but this engine only 730 cc, 2-cylinder, too. Small is not it? But, in fact this machine is still bigger than the Tata ACE engine which is only 70 cc.

When the usual diesel engine construction is already complicated, remember, this 2-stroke diesel engine with more faster combustion process. Not to mention the presence of a turbo and supercharger as well as to increase the number of its components. Yes, this machine is quite unique in our eyes.

Maybe it would be more comforting if we talk capabilities of these machines. This eccentric diesel engine can generate the power of 47 to 68 hp. Little too huh? But remember, this diesel engine, which should be to know is its torque ability.

The result itself is not bad, this machine can produce a torque of 112 Nm to 145 Nm and is available from 1,500 rpm of rotation. Renault also claimed that the machine will has sound like a modern 4-cylinder diesel engine in general.

With the power and torque capabilities, we may predict that this machine will inhabit the engine bay of a compact city car or hatchback. Better not to speculate too early, because in the eyes of the Renault, this engine is still too weak so it is not suitable to be installed in any of their car. Penemu Antena

HIDETSUGU YAGI (1886-1976)
Pada tanggal 28 Januari yang lalu, Google merayakan ulang tahun yang ke 130 dari si penemu antena yang bernama Hidetsugu Yagi. Dunia mengenal Hidetsugu Yagi sebagai penemu dari antena. Bersama dengan Shintaro Uda, Hidetsugu berhasil membuat antena yang banyak digunakan untuk televisi dan radio.

Melihat namanya anda sudah pasti dapat menebak asal penemu antena ini. Dia berasal dari Jepang. Hidetsugu Yagi dilahirkan pada tanggal 28 Januari 1886 di Osaka. Sejak kecil ia beliau sudah menyukai dunia elektronika. Itulah yang menjadikan ia kemudian memilih jurusan listrik di universitas Imperial Tokyo dan pada tahun 1909, ia kemudian berhasil menjadi insinyur listrik.

Karena kecerdasannya, ia kemudian bekerja di kampusnya dan kemudian pada tahun 1913, ia kemudian berangkat ke Inggris untuk belajar mengenai kelistrikan dan kemudian ia juga ke Amerika dan terakhir ke Jerman. Di Jerman, ia melakukan penelitian mengenai generasi gelombang listrik dengan menggunakan teknologi wireless. Dalam penelitiannya tersebut, Hidetsugu Yagi menemukan gelombang listrik dapat dihantarkan dalam kondisi tertentu. Inilah yang kemudian menjadi cikal bakal dari penemuan antena. Selanjutnya dengan bantuan seseorang bernama Shintaro Uda mereka mencoba mengembangkan sebuah alat dari hasil penelitian Hidetsugu tersebut.

Tahun 1926 di laboratorium, Hidetsugu Yagi yang dibantu rekannya Shintaro Uda (1896-1976) berhasil menemukan antena pertama di dunia yang kemudian dinamakan dengan Antena Yagi. Nama Yagi berasal dari nama belakang Hidetsugu Yagi. Antena tersebut ia patenkan dengan nama 'Yagi Antenna' dengan nomor paten 69115. Kemudian pada tahun 1930 setelah menemukan antena, Hidetsugu Yagi kembali ke negara asalnya yaitu Jepang.

Di Jepang, Hidetsugu mengenalkan benda hasil penemuannya ke masyarakat. Namun antena hasil temuan Hidetsugu Yagi kurang mendapat perhatian dari masyarakat, terutama akademisi Jepang. Hal ini disebabkan karena mereka ketika itu kurang paham megenai komunikasi enginering. Namun diluar Jepang, Antena temuan Hidetsugu Yagi banyak mendapat pujian dari negara negara Eropa dan Amerika ketika itu.

Dengan adanya antena dapat memudahan gelombang elektromagnetik menjadi terarah. Hidetsugu Yagi sendiri menjadi Direktur Fakultas Ilmu Industri Universitas Tokyo pada tahun 1942 dan kemudian menjadi direktur Jenderal Institut Teknologi pada tahun 1944 dan kemudian Direktur Jenderal OSaka Imperial University pada tahun 1946. Kemudian di tahun 1952, Hidetsugu  Yagi menjadi presiden Established Yagi Antenna Inc, dan di tahun 1961 ia kemudian pensiun sebagai presiden di perusahaan tersebut.

Dan di tahun 1976, Hidetsugu Yagi meninggal dunia saat ia berusia 89 tahun meninggalkan penemuan yang bermanfaat bagi manusia. The mummy of fanged and whip-like tail predator found in Turkey

Archaeologists were surprised to discover the mummy of predators with sinister faces, saber-toothed, saggy skin and a tail like a whip. This mysterious animal found in Turkey and making the experts confusion.

This strange predators found in an old basement and still to be identified by experts in the natural history of this country. The archaeologists have theorized these animals may from prehistoric times, while others believe it could be a kind cat, based on his front teeth.

Dr. Lidija McKnight, an expert on ancient Egyptian and animal mummies at Manchester University told DailyMail on Monday, Feruary 2, 2016 said, "It looks like one of the naturally mummified cat we found in the UK, in the walls of the chimney, for example."

"The tarsel bone/carpel that looks long and had been diagnosed as cat species," she added. This strange mummy said to have a length of 1 meter from the nose to the tip of its tail.

Dr. McKnight said further, "One meter long, but if it is a wild cat species, for example, they can be much larger than a domestic cat."

This rigid creature was taken out of solid rock under the house of locksmith Abdullah Ozturk, of Niğde located in central Anatolia region of the country.
