The world's first underwater power plants

Australia has the world's first fully operational wave-powered underwater power plant towers. The tower was designed by the Australian company, Carnegie Wave Energy.

Three tower structures tethered to the seabed Perth, where they convert wave power into emission-free electricity. The three working tower produces 720 kW per year, and moving parts of a nearby Carnegie naval base.now wants more global with these units.

"You can connect (towers) as much as you want," said Managing Director of Carnegie, Michael Ottaviano. The model that used today is CETO-5, 11 meter-wide platform that makes electricity using wave. And the wave stretcher then pushed a pump located in the center. The pump sends pressurized water flow through pipes that are placed on the seabed. It produces electricity in hydroelectric embedded base, where hydroelectric turbines rotate.
The submerged pumps feed high pressure water onshore to the hydroelectric power station and desalination plant, supplying renewable energy and fresh water. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1DRzqgH)
Pumping can also be used for water desalination process in order to be fresh and drinkable. Now, Carnegie was in the process of renewal to the CETO-6, which will produce power offshore by using a pump to drive the generator with a float, and creating electricity in the venue.

Subsea cable will tie the power back to the ground. With a diameter of 20 meters, CETO can produce energy 1 mW. The plan in 2017, Carnegie wants to tether three CETO-6 units in Perth. The power generated wave energy is greater than the wind and solar power. Based same area, Carnegie can produce four times more energy than the sun's energy, said Ottaviano.
Going forward, Carnegie plans to bring these innovations to WaveHub, a wave energy test site in Cornwall. WaveHub wants to build ten CETO-6 units that produces 10MW of power. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC]

'Wildtwelve' Mid-engine Hybrid Supercar unviels

Dell'Automobile Salone di Torino disappeared in 2002 when the Bologna Motor Show took over the role of the international motor show in Italy.  However, this year the Turin Motor Show back in, although as an outdoor event which held near Parco del Valentino, Turin. On the other hand, Torino Design brings their newest star, named the 'ATS Wildtwelve'.

You probably know how the habits of small Italian car manufacturer that said: "Our car has thousands of power and has a top speed approaching the F-16 fighter aircraft," or maybe sounds too excessive.

Actually, Torino Design has never been done a test run on the ATS Wildtwelve to support their claim about the top speed that reaches 390 km/h. For sure, the supercar figure is a very beautiful creation and clearly reflected the impression of Italian flamboyant.

According to Torino Design, the 'ATS' stands for 'Automobili Turismo and Sport' and signifies the company that was born in 1960 as a result of the great uprising of the Ferrari engineers. Regarding to the 'Wildtwelve' name, the car is equipped by a 3.8 liter V12 engine twin-turbo coupled with a 9-speed sequential transmission system.

It could burst total output of 860 hp and has a torque of 918 Nm, and this could be happened thanks to the collaboration of its V12 engine and plug-in hybrid powertrain that consisted of two electric motors to drive the front wheels. The company also says that the chief engineer of this hybrid hypercar is a former employee of the Bugatti, but it is more interesting of this car is its weight. Thanks to the amount of carbon fiber materials, and finally Torino Design ATS Wildtwelve has a weighs only 1,450 kilograms.
Beside that, Torino Design will only make 30 units of the hybrid hypercar which has a length of 4.4 meters, a width of 2 meters and height of 1.2 meters and will be built in the old Bugatti factory at Campogalliano that has been acquired by the designer Santo Versace. The expectation is Mr Versace liked the car speed, since the ATS Wildtwelve capable of touching the figure of 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | TORINO DESIGN | AUTOEVOLUTION]

NASA said, the Earth will be burn 85 years from now

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced its predictions through a dataset that said, the Earth will experience a massive climate change within 85 years, precisely in 2100.

NASA released the dataset through a map predictions and projections of the Earth changes that will occur in 2100. In these maps, look almost all areas in various parts of the world red. That is, the climate that occurred in the region will change drastically to heat up.
Nasa has released new data that show how temperature and rainfall patterns will change around the world by 2100: This annotated map, produced using the data, shows the maximum daily temperatures in July under climate scenarios that predict carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere will reach 935 parts per million. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1JQMNCz)
According to the scientists who are researching this phenomenon, it is caused by a layer of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere which will achieve a very high number, ie 935 ppm (parts per million). For now, the carbon dioxide layer currently stands at 400 ppm. As quoted from DailyMail on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

If it later turns out that the prediction was announced comes true, most areas of the Earth will experience a drastic climate change becomes very hot. Even later in parts of Africa, India and South America, daily temperatures can reach 45 degrees Celsius.

"NASA is currently researching climate change is happening on the Earth for a long period of time. We are also studying why this can happen. Even so, our party will prepare a new breakthrough which will be the helper of mankind to avoid the phenomenon like this in the future," said Ellen Stofan, NASA's Chief Scientist.

Furthermore, the climate change map is not only shows which areas will experience a drastic climate change, but also shows the region of rainfall can change in the decades to come.

"With this new global dataset, all the people around the world can at least prepare a plan and even the latest breakthroughs that can be used to adapt to climate change," said Stofan.

Not only `be burn`, future climate change that will occur on the Earth will happen through several phenomena, such as floods, drought, and drought in some areas. Currently, NASA has also formed a partnership with several governments to make contingency plans to be able to anticipate this happening in the future. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DAILYMAIL]

Philae back alive and makes a call to Earth

One European's spacecraft last year landed on a comet and then undergo hibernation, suddenly back alive and transmit voice signals to the Earth, as reported by Space.com.

The European Space Agency (ESA) comet lander named Philae, which crash landed to Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko from the Rosetta spacecraft last November and sends the message for 85 seconds to the Earth through Rosetta on June 13, 2014, says ESA.

It was the first signal of Philae in the seven months since the spacecraft was silent on Novermber 15 last year after the historic landing on the comet.

"Philae works very well," said Philae project manager Stephan Ulamec of the German Aerospace Center/Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR). "Lander was ready for fully operation."

According to Ulamec, Philae is currently at a temperature of minus 35 degrees Celsius and has 24 watts of power reserve.

During sending data to Earth, Philae has emitted up to 300 packets of data and the most active before the first signal reached Earth on Saturday, said ESA officials..

Philae is solar-powered spacecraft and a half sized washing machine which landed at Comet 67P on November 12, 2014 after the separation from the Rosetta. This spacecraft was shaken two times when its harpoon-shaped anchors system failed avoid the comet's surface.

This spacecraft squashed on the comet's surface. After about 60 hours of battery ran out and undergo hibernation on November 15 of that year.

According to Space.com, over the past seven months the scientists of the Rosetta and Philae mission in Europe expect when the Comet 67P approaches the sun, Philae will be able to receive sunlight so that the system back alive. It seems these expectations come true. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SPACE.COM]
