These sensors can detect hazardous chemicals

Some scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has recently developed an impressive sensor that serves to protect us from a variety of things ranging from bombs to expired foods. Mentioned, the sensor is very simple. The sensor was modified of the NFC chip to detect the presence of specific gases with the help of nanotub carbon.

The functionality of the sensor is very interesting. Although the team of chemists who developed this technology to explore all sorts of different use for it, this sensor will be a very useful tool for checking the packages of food.

These objects can tell us whether a food has expired just by waving our smartphones. To see test these sensors detect the chemical substances with a smartphone, you can see the video below:
"The beauty of these sensors is that they are very cheap. You pair them up and let them sit in there and then you read. There should be no wires. No need power," said Professor Timothy Swager, an MIT scientist, through the official renowned university website.

"You can be very imaginative about what you want to do with technology like this," he continued. The MIT team that discovered this sensor has filed a patent on the technology. They are also trying to improve the work of this sensor with Bluetooth, so it can increase its reach.

In fact, scientists think they will be able to integrate it with the badge so that the employees who work in hazardous areas may get a warning if there is the presence of a hazardous gas around them. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | GIZMAG]

A unique futuristic Russian military assault wagon

As we know the Humvee is the US-made vehicle with higher ground clearance than an SUV and generally used for military purpose.

Currently a Russian automotive company and also known as Soviet-era limousines maker, ZIL made a military assault wagon concept thought as Russia's answer to the Humvee that can accommodate 10 people with all-seats facing the window and reportedly commissioned for army use.

The Russian military assault wagon concept is said to be based on the chassis of a Humvee, although it seats many more people (10 in total), and sports disparate proportions. ZIL claims the body was designed using "advanced 3D modeling," with a special emphasis on building a psychologically intimidating and "menacing" aesthetic.

Besides the car's shape was unique, it also designed with high ground clearance to be able to traverse any off-road terrain. The all-wheel-drive military vehicle has a weighs about 4,570 kilograms and its power comes from a Cummins inline-4 diesel engine with 185 hp, transferred to all four wheels via a five speed manual gearbox and two speed transfer case.

Another advantage of the Russian armored personel carrier concept, where is each passenger dealing with exits that make it easier for the Russians soldiers to get in and out of the car if one of the passengers had orders from superiors.

In my opinion, when looking at the design and placement of seating position, the car is well suited to be applied such as the safari park vehicle for facilitating the passengers to enjoy the scenery without having to turn right or left. What do you think? *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FOXTROTALPHA]
