Originally conceived as Project24 in early July, this remarkable feat stands as a testament to Maserati's prowess in crafting cutting-edge racing car models. From the initial renderings that Maserati shared, the MCXtrema emerges as a captivating rendition, a modified variant of the MC20 enriched with an array of aerodynamic wings. Essentially designed for the race track, the MCXtrema draws parallels to the MC20 in terms of its carbon fiber body and foundational engine, though the similarities are scarce beyond that.

Noteworthy for its exclusivity, Maserati underscored its intent to produce merely 62 units of the MCXtrema model, a limited number that has been completely accounted for in sales. Around half of these exquisite machines are slated for the United States, which stands as the primary market for the MC20 as well. While exact figures remain speculative, insiders anticipate a price tag that might venture into seven-digit territory, denominated in US dollars.

The core powerhouse propelling this exceptional racing vehicle is the Nettuno 3.0-liter V-6 engine. This powerhouse is capable of churning out a staggering 720 horsepower and generating a peak torque of 538 lb-ft at 3,500 rpm. The immense power is effectively transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox furnished with paddle-wheel drive and an integrated limited-slip differential.

The engineering marvel shines through as Maserati's experts managed to achieve an impressive 99 horsepower boost in comparison to the MC20 engine. This milestone is attributed to meticulous enhancements, including turbocharger refinements, exhaust updates, and intricate engine programming.
