One of the Sbarro GTB series costs You more than a new 296 GTB

Unique ONES We all know that the manufacture of premium cars in limited quantities is intended to target the rich car enthusiasts. Indeed, these things cannot be separated from one another, considering that in their development these premium cars require funds that are not cheap and as a company the makers also want profits. This can only be fulfilled by rich people who are interested in owning it.

Although expensive, at least it is commensurate with what is shown on the figure of this modified supercar. As fans who always observe developments in the automotive world, of course, we can immediately know what is the latest in the automotive world today. And when we recently saw an unusual Ferrari while surfing in the internet.

As quoted of Carbuzz, the car in question is the Ferrari Sbarro Alcador GTB built by Franco Sbarro in 2008. This car intended to follow and revive its predecessor Alcador roadsters first seen at the 1995 Geneva Auto Show. Originally, the car designs was originally commissioned by the Lienhard's family whose also known the owner of the Lista Office design firm, and known there're three cars ever built based on three different prancing horse models, such as Ferrari 348, Ferrari 360 and Ferrari Testarossa.

For the first car was released in 2008 based on the Ferrari 348 platform which was launched at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. As You can see, the car' has a classic-designed bodywork. The owner wanted a car less exuberant than the first Alcador. However the Alcador GTB has opening doors in elytra and a strong visual presence. Some observers found the air of family with the 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 (one of Ferrari racing cars that involved Franco Sbarro in its development and then also made a superb replica).

And next the second and third versions of the Alcador GTB was presented at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show. Well, for the second version, Sbarro replaces its platform to the Ferrari 360, and its V8 engine as well, while the previous one was taken from the Ferrari 348, but unchanged both still produces a burst of power of around 400 hp. Furthermore, this second version also has a different appearance when compared to the first sibling with a redesigned rear and by 4 air entries on the side of the front.

The third version of the Alcador GTB was LO (for Lista Office) GT is a sports coupe built based on Ferrari Testarossa. The sponsor appears to be Mr. Lienhard, in the form of the website address of the Autobau is written on the side skirts. For your info, Autobau is M. Lienhard's exhibition center of cars where there are also some Franco Sbarro's creations. Mr. Lienhard was the owner of several Sbarro's cars of all the Helios program purchased in 1992.

The difference between the GTB LO with the other two Alcador GTBs lies in the engine, where the GTB LO is powered by a 12-cylinder boxer engine from the Ferrari Testarosa that produces around 450 hp, not the Ferrari 348's V8 (in the Alcador GTB 2008) or Ferrari 360's V8 (the Alcador GTB 2009). Other differences, such as the 2008 GTB version did not have 4 lateral side inlets in the front bumper unlike the 2009 version, and the GTB LO rear shields are slightly different.

For those of you who are interested to be the owner one of these 3 exotic cars, here's the info about the price of those car series which is estimated to be around 6 digits. As quoted of Carbuzz, one of those cars, namely the 2nd version of Alcador GTB was offered for around $420,000 recently. Of course the price numbers made you automatically frown and think, why is it so expensive? Indeed, that number is high for a series of cars produced in the 2000s.
Well, by the same amount of money you can already bring home a new Ferrari 296 GTB (and save $100k as well). However, for exotic and rare car series enthusiasts, these price figures may be considered reasonable and in accordance with the exclusivity and rarity of the series. That's kind a unique, although the price is high but still someone willing to spend the such money to have it. In our opinion, it's an exclusive hobby that also drains your bank account sometimes.
