The Indian electric premium sedan concept makes its debut in Geneva

The world's electric-powered cars trends seems to spread to India too. In those country, Tata introduces its newest concept car, named Tata EVision, an electric-powered premium sedan. It seems that these Indian carmakers wants to prove themselves to the world that they are also able to develop electric-powered cars even though still in the concept stage.

Furthermore, the company also said if they want to be known on the world's automotive stage, then these Indian vehicle manufacturers needs the world-class vehicles to shown off. Therefore, recently Tata Motors collaborated with the Land Rover automotive company, which is a subsidiary of well-known British auto company Jaguar-Land Rover to develop an advanced modular platform.

As the development results is called "OMEGA" or Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced. This platform successfully gave birth to various vehicles such as sedans and hatchbacks up to SUVs and even electric cars.

And in the Auto Expo 2018 held in New Delhi, India, Tata Motors presented two concept cars ie an OMEGA-based Tata H5X SUV and Tata 45X hatchback concept. So in the Geneva International Motor Show 2018, Tata also brought their OMEGA-based electric-powered premium sedan concept called Tata E-Vision.

In terms of appearance, on the EVision does not have the appearance of the company lineup in general that looks brief and simple. This concept car actually comes with an elegant and luxurious exterior design. Moreover, this car dimensions are the same as the Jaguar XE and Mercedes C-Class. And looks like it's a notification that Tata will play on the premium vehicle segment in the future.

The front, there is a thin LED headlights. Like other electric cars, the EVision comes without a conventional radiator grille and is replaced with design elements with unique motifs. To add to the impression of luxury, the Tata designer put a European flush styled door handle. The interesting thing is the pull of this concept car line that resembles a fastback on the rear-end. So, on the car's back looks simple with rectangular LED taillights.

While the interior of these Indian four-door sedan concept looks minimalist. There aren't many buttons that we see in the car cabin. And most of the car's inside is covered with wood and genuine leather. There's the screen to display the entertainment system is automatically folded when not in use. Tata also pinned the screen in back of the front seats for the passengers even though it was small.
In this exhibition, Tata Motors only gave a little info about the car specifications. However, this Indian automotive manufacturer said that the EVision can accelerate from 0-100 km/h under 7.0 seconds and record a top speed of up to 200 km/hour. The company also said the concept was packed with the latest technology of fast charging and self-driving capabilities.

The first Tata's model based on the OMEGA platform is expected to be launched in India in 2019. They planned the first production of this platform is the Tata H5X SUV concept.
