The world's oldest steam-powered car that still functioning to this day, whose has a real name 'De Dion Bouton et Trepardoux Dos-a-Dos Steam Runabout' has been auctioned at RM Auctions in 2011 ago.

At that time experts believe this antique car is able to penetrate the bid price between US $2 million to 2.5 million. As reported by Gizmag on October 7, 2011 the car has been sold for U.S. $4.62 million, wow!

Commissioned by French entrepreneur, Count de Dion. This special order vehicle dubbed 'La Marquise' after the Count de Dion's mother was created in 1884 by Georges Bouton and Charles-Armand Trepardoux.

Measuring just 9 ft in length, La Marquise features twin compound steam engines and a tank containing 151 liters of water to drive the rear wheels via train-like connecting rods, and "spade handle" steering and seats four people "dos-a-dos" (back-to-back).
The oldest vehicles can operate with a distance of approximately 32 km with a maximum speed of 61 km/h. The oldest running motor car in the world had single family ownership for 81 years and is only four owners from new. The new owner joins an elite list of just five collectors to have owned this car.
