The Real Batman's vehicles

The Batman movie has long been known, the label attached to the mask and black costume ranging from bat clothing to his vehicles. It seems interesting if we know the supercar and motors which is used in every Batman action.

The supercar that used in every Batman movie depicted with a car that has a high speed to chase the enemies and criminals. Besides, the car is also equipped with a variety of sophisticated weaponry.

But actually the real car not only animation effects, because Warner Bros as the production house of Batman serial movie had made a documentary film about "Batmobile" the name for the line of Batman sophisticated cars.
Here are six vehicles were ever used by Batman in every action,

6. The 1st Batmobile
As the first Batman's car, its presence inspires the other Batmobiles until now. Modified for use in action Batman television series (1966-1968). On the show it boasted lasers and a Batphone and could lay down smoke screens and oil slicks.

The 19-foot-long (5.79 m) black, bubble-topped car was used in the Batman TV show that starred Adam West as the Caped Crusader. The car's owner - famed auto customiser George Barris, of Los Angeles - transformed a one-of-a-kind 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car into the sleek crime-fighting machine.

Mr Barris' publicist said his client is pleased with the auction result. And the latest news of this car is sold for $4.6 million as at auction.

5. Batman Returns
The original Batmobile from Tim Burton's Batman Returns movie looks different, reflecting the representation of its Art Deco version of Gotham City. This car, designed by Anton Furst with the long dimension, low and sleek. The Batman era of Michael Keaton was a much more aggressive, scary and dark character. This car had a low stance, kept the rocket but changed shape entirely. Reflecting more of a bat’s features and finished in Matte Black, this was the first bad ass Batmobile.

To build the car, the production team spliced together two Impala chassis, and the power is served up by a Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch V8 with Hedman headers and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold that bumps power north of 200 hp.

4. Batman Forever
The third Warner Brothers Batman movie was released in 1995; Batman Forever. Joel Schumacher was the new director, and created a very different film from his predecessor. One of the changes was a new Batmobile, designed by Barbara Ling which wanted to have a more organic aesthetic, and so designed a car that looked like it actually had ribs and wings. In this Batman movie featured Val Kilmer driving a more refined Batmobile.

Mean, aggressive but sleek and sexy. The ribs, blue under-glow and floating bat logo hubcaps were new, while the flame thrower stayed, but was much more powerful. The supercar in the Batman Forever movie is taken from the Chevrolet 350 ZZ3. The body is made from the high temperature fiberglass with epoxy laminated. The car's wheelbase is 118 in (3.0 m), with a maximum speed reached 130 mph (209 kph) with booster equipped.

3. Batman & Robin
Batman & Robin was the fourth and final installment in the arc that started in 1989 with Batman. Joel Schumacher once again directed and Barbara Ling was still the production designer, but the movie featured and all-new Batmobile. For their action, Batman and Robin required the Batmobile to again be changed. While Robin (Chris O’Donell) rode his motorcycle, Batman (George Clooney) had a larger, jet-inspired single seater.

The dashboard looking more fighter-jet than car, the elements of the grill almost shaping the Bat Symbol, the fin/wings longer than ever and even Batman signature tire treat; the menacing Batmobile continued to roam the streets of Gotham City. The new Batmobile inspiration from the car that came from older racing roadsters like the Jaguar D Type and Delahaye 165; Ling specifically wanted this car to be an open air car, as it was in the comics she read years earlier. Working with effects company TFX, the new Batmobile was about 30 feet-long (approx 9.14 m) (one of the longest Batmobiles in the entire history of the car, despite being a single-seater) and road tested to 140 mph (225 kph).

2. The Batman's Tumbler
This kind of Batmobile is shown in Batman Begins movie as tank combat vehicles, and don't have a front axle. This car is a cross between a Lamborghini with a tank and designed by Crowley & Nolan and built by movie car engineers Chris Corbould and Andy Smith. Their primary focus was to make this Batmobile as real as possible: at 9 feet wide (2.74 m) and 15 feet long (4.57 m), the car weighed in at 2.5 tons but was still capable of 0-60 mph in under six seconds with a top speed of 110 mph (177 kph). Thanks to its unique design, it was also capable of making unassisted jumps up to 30 feet (9.14 m).
The Tumbler. (Picture from: http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/)
Primary power for this Batmobile came from a 500-hp Chevy 350 V8 driving four 44" Super Swamper tires via titanium axles. The cabin had space for a driver and one passenger, with a unique arrangement for the driver: for normal driving situations, the driver simply sat in the left seat. In "attack" mode, the driver's seat moved to the center of the car, and the driver was repositioned to lay face-down with his head in the center section between the front wheels.

1. The Bat-Pod

Here It Is: The First Batmobile That Started It All

Origin Machine - Long before sleek superhero blockbusters filled modern screens, the idea of a hero’s signature vehicle was already capturing imaginations. From futuristic gadgets to bold silhouettes, these machines became extensions of the characters themselves. Among them, one stands out not just for its look, but for its origin story—humble, creative, and surprisingly overlooked. Here it is the first Batmobile, a car that predates the famous TV version and carries a story as fascinating as the Dark Knight himself.
First official Batmobile built-in 1963 by Forrest Robinson. (Picture from: ComicBookResource)
This early Batmobile wasn’t born in a corporate studio or a Hollywood workshop, but in the hands of a young enthusiast named Forrest Robinson. At just 23 years old, he took a 1956 Oldsmobile 88 and transformed it into something straight out of comic book pages. Working alongside his friend Len Perham in the yard of his family home, Robinson infused the car with elements inspired by early Batman comics. One of its most striking features was a single, dramatic fin running along the center—an unusual design choice that gave the vehicle a distinct identity, echoing the bold and experimental spirit of mid-20th-century automotive styling.
A single large-fin in the middle as a characteristic of the early Batmobile.(Picture from: Merdeka)
The car itself was completed in 1963, quietly entering the world two years before the more widely recognized Batmobile—based on the Lincoln Futura concept—appeared on television. Unlike the polished, studio-backed versions that followed, Robinson’s creation had a raw charm. Its exterior carried a handcrafted aesthetic, blending comic-inspired imagination with the practical structure of a classic American car. While detailed records of the interior are scarce, it likely remained closer to the original Oldsmobile layout, making the contrast between its ordinary cabin and extraordinary exterior even more intriguing.
Rear side view of Forrest Robinson 1963 Batmobile. (Picture from: Merdeka)
At first, this Batmobile served a simple purpose: it was Robinson’s personal tribute to a character he admired. But as Batman’s popularity surged during the 1960s, the car caught wider attention. DC Comics eventually granted it an official license, turning it into a promotional vehicle. Repainted in the iconic black-and-red color scheme, it toured across the eastern United States and was introduced to the public as “Batman’s Batmobile,” even earning a mention in newspapers at the time. Despite its growing recognition, its moment in the spotlight was brief. When the TV version took over, Robinson decided to part with his creation, selling it for just $200—a figure that feels almost unreal today.
Time, however, has a way of restoring forgotten legends. Decades after being left to deteriorate like scrap, the car was rediscovered by Bobby Smith and later acquired by Toy Car Exchange LLC in 2013. Carefully restored, it finally received the appreciation it deserved, culminating in an auction in Dallas where it sold for $137,000 after opening at $90,000. What began as a passion project in a backyard had come full circle, evolving into a recognized piece of pop culture history. The first Batmobile may not be the most famous, but its story reflects something deeper—how creativity, fandom, and a bit of bold imagination can leave a lasting mark, even in the shadow of bigger, flashier icons. *** [EKA [03012015] [23042020] | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | COMIC BOOK RESOURCES | TELEGRAPH ]

The newest muscle Batmobile

The latest Batman's movie titled 'The Batman' is planned to be released on June 25, 2021, where the handsome actor Robert Pattinson will play as Bruce Wayne, known as Batman when he becomes a superhero who defends the Gotham City from organized crime.
This is what the latest Batmobile looks like in 'The Batman' movie. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2TN27KU)
But what raises the curiosity of The Batman movie is, whether the Gotham City superhero will continue to use his flagship car named the Batmobile. Yes, of course the Batmobile will always be used, but only its form will be different.
This is what the latest Batmobile looks like in 'The Batman' movie. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2TN27KU)
As quoted from Screenrant, the Batmobile used by Robert Pattinson seems to be an American muscle car known as 1970 Plymouth Barracuda which had a modification process. And also reportedly, the car modification process was included in the drivetrain which is a mid-mounted twin-turbo engine seemingly a V-8, though some on social media are seeing a fifth coil pack on each side that would make it a V-10.
This is what the latest Batmobile looks like in 'The Batman' movie. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2TN27KU)
From the photo, the turbos locates in between the roll cage and bodywork in the back and you'll find two snails with short exhaust pipes expelling waste gases directly into the atmosphere.
Of course this will be a question, why the Batmobile uses an American muscle car? Apparently, The Batman movie will be set in the 1990s, where the director wanted to show in the movie when Bruce Wayne was young and the beginning as Batman.
Not only modifying a classic car into the Batmobile, and in the movie, Bruce Wayne is also seen sewing his own costume. Therefore, do not expect too much that the Batman will be very cool looking like the Batman who had appeared in the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or Justice League. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SCREENRANT | THE DRIVE]
