When the locomotive machinist made a custom motorcycle

Hold Fast Chicago is a small independent workshop owned by a locomotive machinist named Jeff. He ran a popular powdercoating and custom shop near Chicago for few years.

This time, he had just completed one of the custom-built motorcycle in his workshop. The figure of Honda CB750 motorcycle that became the main ingredient of this project was purchased at a price of $500.

He immediately worked by stripping it back and beginning the rebuild process with a full engine teardown and restoration once installed new piston rings, honed cylinder and all new gasket. Jeff also opted to ditch the original carburetor and use a newly rebuilt set with pod filters.

The frame of motorcycle was detabbed and the tank was sent to the Analog Motorcycle to be made more streamlined by reduced its width and added custom rivet work, knee dents, as well as a custom paint job. A new set of stainless bolts where used on the motorcycle's engine with a matching stainless steel spokes of Bunchanan's Spokes & Rims.

And a new exhaust system from Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust was fitted with a nickel plated baffle. The front disc was drilled, added a new bushing in the swingarm, and a set of bearings were also added to the headstock.
A custom made leather seat and seat pan was bolted into place and the build was finished off with an aggressive set of Shinko tires front and back, and leather wrapped grips to match the seat.

The world's second largest meteorite found?

A meteorite weighing 30 tonnes was found in Argentina last week by a team of scientists from Astronomy Association of Chaco. "It was a big surprise," said Mario Vesconi, president of the Astronomy Association of Chaco. "The meteorite was buried at a depth of 5 meters (16.4 ft) and has a width of almost 2 meters (6.6 ft)."

He added that the meteorite, named 'Gancedo meteorite' has a weight of 30,800 kilograms (67,900 lbs). But the team said it would remeasured for an official confirmation later.

This meteorite was found in the town of Gancedo, located in an area known as Campo del Cielo, or which when translated means "Sky Field" or "Field of Heaven". The area is actually located on the borders between the provinces of Chaco and Santiago del Estero, northwest of Buenos Aires.

This site had been covered by a crater formed by an iron meteor shower between 4,200 to 4,700 years ago. The largest of these craters is 115 by 91 meters (377 by 298 ft). Many local media described the findings as the second largest meteorite ever found, although these reports can not be confirmed.
The world's largest meteorite, the Hoba meteorite, is a 50 tonnes heavy solid alloy of iron (82%), nickel (16%), cobalt and others; in Grootfontein, Namibia. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dzZEY)
As we all knew, the largest meteorite ever can be found in Namibia. Known as the 'Hoba'. The weight of the meteorite up to 50 tonnes, and is thought to hit Earth about 80,000 years ago.

The potential value generated from the meteorite itself has not been discussed. However, local politicians Livio Gutierrez in his speech to the residents in the Campo del Cielo, said that the findings would be a new step in science. Not only that, the location of the findings it will potentially boost the area's tourism.
The meteorite is estimated to have a value of approximately $10 - $12 million. As an effort to avoid looting there, Vesconi said that he along with his research team will stay at the site to look for other meteorites similar in size to Gancedo. "We want to move forward because there is much more still to take," he said. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | IFLSCIENCE]

A new Honda's 300 cc Café Racer Concept

Honda, in addition to making mass production motorcycles is also preparing a modification concept to an existing model. More recently, Japan's leading motorcycle manufacturer introduced the figure of 'Honda 300 TT Racer.' This café racer motorcycle concept actually has been shown on Honda's booth in the Bangkok Motor Show 2016 held some time ago.

The Honda's R & D division modification motorcycle is then registered its patent by Honda Japan. Filing a patent is to prevent the irresponsible use it to create a similar design. As quoted from Motorcyclenews, the figure of Honda 300 TT Racer built from the base of Honda CB300F, but its form is still a concept and not worthy of taking to the streets.

In the process, Honda stripping out the instrument panel and rear-view mirror. In addition, some parts are also not meet regulations such as its short tail whose dimensions do not exceed the rear wheel and the exhaust is not equipped with a catalytic converter.

The Honda 300 TT Racer design also gets the influence of Honda CB1100F in the tank. This design also does not rule out the possibility useful for bolt on accessories package for similar motorcycle owners who want to change the style of ordinary naked bike into a café racer or a scrambler.
Unfortunately, the retro motorcycle enthusiasts will surely be disappointed because Honda 300 TT Racer does not go into the Honda's dealer network or not sold freely in the future. At least, the figure of this motorcycle can be a fresh inspiration for you who want to modify your favorite motorcycle.

Although present in the entry-level segment, refer to the information circulating that the British supercar manufacturer no longer uses the same engine of 650S models. McLaren P14 will be equipped with twin-turbo V8 engine with hybrid technology similar to the McLaren P1.

It is known that the front view of the P14 does not leave the McLaren's hallmark with rounded bumpers and the air vents on the bottom to keep the car's stability when driving in high speed. From the side looks of this car has a lot of curves that make it seem more aerodynamic than its predecessor. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOEVOLUTION | AUTOBLOG]

An Earth-sized Diamond revealed the mystery of our sun future

We all already know that diamonds are rare on Earth, but very abundant in the universe. One of them was a giant chunk of the estimated weighing reach 10 billion trillion trillion carats (the numeral one followed by 34 zeros), which is in the constellation Centaurus.

The researchers team of Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Massachusetts which has long found its existence, calling it a mass of crystallized carbon. Then the astronomers decided to give the name of 'Lucy', the idea was taken from a Beatles song titled 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.'
An Earth-sized diamond has been discovered by astronomers and providing proof our own Sun will one day also become a planet sized gemstone. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1e0wZ0)
It actually was a white dwarf from a star named BPM 37093, which has the size of the Sun that later die due to run out of fuel to sustain its nuclear reactions. The white dwarf is considered as the end point of the evolution of stars and the cores of stars where the fusion reaction takes place. Or in other words, the final form after the star burned out aka died. And white dwarfs comprise the majority of carbon.
The scientists found that a white dwarf near the constellation Centaurus, BPM 37093, was made of crystallized carbon weighing 10 billion trillion trillion carats. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1e0wcT)
Those white dwarf is still hot and pulsates, but over time the carbon to crystallize into a diamond. What is remarkable, the white dwarf is also ring like a gigantic gong, which allows the team of scientists to measure and investigate it.

"By measuring the pulse, we can study the interior of which is hidden from the white dwarf, just like seismograph measurements allow experts geologists study the interior of the Earth," said a leading astronomer Travis Metcalfe, as quoted by the Daily Express on Friday, September 9, 2016.
A white dwarf remains hot and pulsates but over time the carbon crystalises into diamond. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1e0wZ0)
"We know that the carbon interior of the white dwarf has solidified and formed in the galaxy's largest diamond," he said.

In the future, the Sun is expected to be about the size of the white dwarf BPM 37093, after the Sun died is about 5 billion years from now. About two billion years later, the core of the Sun will be crystallized, making it becoming a giant diamond in the center of the Solar System. "Sun will become adiamond - immortal," said Metcalfe.

Previously, scientists also ever found another chunk of diamond in space, named PSR J2222-0137, which is located somewhere near the constellation Aquarius which has a distance of 900 light years from Earth.

The bodies of these faint stars is so cold, that makes all the carbon crystallizes. Or effectively form an Earth-sized giant diamond. "It is a remarkable object," said the study leader David Kaplan, a professor of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in a statement issued by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), as quoted of SPACE. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DAiLY EXPRESS | SPACE.COM]
