We can't wait to get behind the wheel and see if the driving experience is as unique as the car's looks. ***. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | VANDERHALL | GIZMAG]
Yamaha continues to explore ranging from design to technology. And now the renowned Japanese motorcycle manufacturer introduced the prototype version of Yamaha OR2T. A glimpse of this motorcycle like a regular bike, but when we examined more carefully turned out to have 4 wheels.
The OR2T research and development prototype is a display of Yamaha's leaning multi-wheeled suspension technology. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1MdRzql)
The principle is similar to the MWT-9 model which has three wheels. All of wheels are equipped with separated suspensions and each suspension works using sensors that can adjust the control of the motorcycle. For example, when the OR2T in cornering conditions, one of the wheel suspensions would be down following the direction of the controlling position of motorcycle.
The Yamaha OR2T takes the Tesseract suspension setup to a new level, by offering an independent shock absorber to each front wheel. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1MdRzql)
In its official statement, Yamaha explains that the OR2T was a prototype product developed from the Tesseract model. However, it has undergone several changes such as the renewal of the suspension system and the use of smaller wheels.

In 2010, an Iranian designer named Mohammad Reza Shojaie who successfully completed his dream in a big motorcycle concept of having a two-wheels drive (2WD) system. Although the motorcycle concept still in the form of 3D sketches, but this bike has made several internet portals in the world stunned in that time.

Here she is "Ostoure," so Reza gave the name of his motorcycle concept. In Persian language, the Ostoure means "Legend," and he says the bike’s design was inspired by the stone engravings of ancient Persepolis. Well, perhaps Reza wanted to create a living legend in the future.

Ostoure do seem so imaginative. The super naked motorcycle is designed with high uniqueness. Its shape is almost out of the current motorcycle designs. With the two-wheels drive system, Reza said the Ostoure apply the multiple differential transmission system. Even the motorcycle handlebar model was very eccentric and unique because the handlebar was described like an airplane joystick.

Another concept that is quite impressive contained in the motorcycle was the suspension system. The Ostoure has a single shock suspension on both the rear and front. Because of the front shock’s location, the bike uses a smaller front radiator, supported by smaller radiators located on each side.

Instrumentation is available both on board the bike, as well as through the helmet using a Heads-Up Display (HUD). The Ostoure helmet is rather trick in itself. In addition to the HUD, the lid features a Bluetooth connection to the bike, built-in speakers, and even air-conditioning. The helmet’s controls are located on the bikes handgrip.

Although the Ostoure motorcycle concept has some innovative technologies, many of those technologies have been around for years. For example, steering hub had been used since the 1920s, and also been applied in Bimota, Tier Motorsports, and Vyrus. And then the HUD helmets are currently available for the motorcycles of OEM and after-market providers. Lastly, the drive shafts are very common, and there are even some two-wheel drive motorcycles of Yamaha, BMW, KTM and others used it.
However, Reza ensure the Ostoure still have a perfect gravity center. Well, hopefully there are the motorcycle manufacturers who will produce this bike such as Reza's imagination. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | GIZMAG]
From now seems Alex Honnold and Chris Sharma should be more careful. Because the two legends of rock climbing that will have a new rival. Here it is VertiGo, a new robot that can actually climb the walls.
As quoted from PCMag on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, this robot was developed by Disney Research Zurich in collaboration with the ETH University. VertiGo is not ready to participated in the Yosemite Triple Crown in the near future, but it was able to defy gravity with the transition from the ground to the wall.
The robot has four wheels, two propellers tilted to push against the wall, lets move on vertical surfaces. "Even more agile and quick even in rocky terrain," said the company spokesman.

"There is a choice of two propellers so as to enable the transition from floor pushed to the wall. To push it to the wall using the rear propellers and towards to the top by using the front propellers, so it can be folded up against the wall," said the representative of Disney and ETH University.
The team said, one of the biggest challenges is to maximize the ratio between the output thrust and robot's weight. It has a carbon fiber baseplate to reduce weight, while the wheels and suspension systems made from 3D printed parts and carbon rods. This robot also has two thrusters, that mounted using two Cardan suspension ring like a compass.
"There are integrated servomotors allows the inner and outer rings to be moved independently of each other. All the power needed to push from the floor to the walls and even capable of up to the ceiling," said the spokesman.
VertiGo can be controlled by a human operator such as a remote control car. Reportedly, this robot will be developed to be able to travel in both indoor and outdoor. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | PCMAG]
