Here's the South African's R9T-based custom motorbike named Storm

Unique ONES - Of the many custom models of the BMW R Nine T (R9T) in the world, of course you are still remembered to the figure of a custom motorcycle made by Zillers Garage that we have discussed before. Now there is another one that in our opinion is very interesting, the bike was built by a creative South African builder named Wayne Buys. Through his work, it can be said that he gives a new perspective in the custom world of this 1,170 cc boxer engined motorcycle made by the Bavarian motorcycle manufacturer.

As quoted of BikeExif, Wayne Buys took the inspiration from the aerodynamic shape of the WW2 era fighter planes, later his custom motorcycle work was dubbed the Storm. The custom motorcycle built at his workshop called FabMan Creations, where he also offers repair works and welding for others. Well, most of the custom motorcycle components made by himself at his workshop ranging from stainless steel exhaust systems, fenders, and custom aluminum motorcycle parts.

The Storm project that he worked on featured a series of bodywork made of aluminum shaped manually using a homemade English wheel. Here he works in free form, without a single sketch, render, or template and his metal forming skills were self-taught.

The body kit made to cover the custom R9T frame is actually made of aluminum sheet. Even more impressive was the builder shaping them by hammering each panel into a tree stump. Overall, the manufacture of all body panels was done for 8 months.

His custom motorcycle body construction is like a piece of puzzles, where the panels lock onto each other via tiny Allen head fasteners that look like rivets on an airplane. Wayne's bodywork consists of a custom tail section, round tank cover, headlight cover, wheel and fender cover, swing-arm cover and full-length cover. Aluminum panels are also visible on the sides of the tank to channel cool air to the cylinder head.

There are two small intakes on either side of the fully closed front fender directing air to the brakes. While the intake at the rear is equipped with a fan, helping to cool the repositioned oil cooler. Then there's another fan up front to cool the electronics, all of which are under the tank cover. And there's a mesh panel at the top to help the hot air channeling out.
The Storm unique-shaped custom motorcycle has a pair of aluminum handlebars that clamp the fork that effectively acts as a clip-on with the turn signal placement at the end of the handlebars, and the rear view mirror just attached to the right of the handlebars. (Picture from: BikeExif)
In other parts, such as the exhaust and the header, it is deliberately invisible with the output ends through three ports on either side of the belly. Then there is also a grid of holes under the header that functioned to help stop hot air from being concentrated inside.

Then the motorcycle control area, Wayne made a pair of aluminum handlebars that clamp the fork that effectively acts as a clip-on with the turn signal placement at the end of the handlebars, and the rear view mirror just attached to the right of the handlebars. Uniquely, Wayne also made a custom-made reverse lever, as well as the internal throttle for this motorcycle.

Actually this Storm custom motorcycle has commissioned by one of his customers who brought the BMW R nineT motorbike directly to Wayne Buys' workshop. Those consumers want something that is inspired by aircraft and has a very aerodynamic design. And the result looks like it's just a button press to take off.
Finally, this Storm custom motorcycle built based on the BMW R nineT by FabMan Creations sold for €25,000 (approximately Rp. 387 millions). And for those of you who are interested in buying or commissioning the custom motorcycle like that or elses, you can contact the maker through the FabMan Creations' official website.

Moscow-based garage made a steampunk styled BMW motorcycle concept

As we have seen today that design modifications always succeed in attracting the interest of automotive enthusiasts. Not only because it can bring a design that is more okay and new, even design modifications often provide inspiration for fans. But have you ever imagined if a BMW R NineT was modified in such a way as if it came from the post-apocalyptic era and rode by Mad Max?

The motorbike figure mentioned above can be seen on this unique BMW R NineT figure is built by Mikhail Smolânovym from Zillers Garage who is already known as one of the metal-shaping experts, so that the look of this motorcycle is so fierce.

Indeed, the appearance of the BMW R NineT looks very much different from the original version, which currently has a custom aluminum body with a steampunk, retro-futuristic style, and cafe racer. With almost all parts of the motorcycle covered by a new bodywork, only the wheels and cylinder head of the engine are visible.
This futuristic custom BMW R NineT of Zillers Garage is wrapping a nearly seamless sheet of aluminum over the Beemer’s original form. (Picture from: https://yhoo.it/38icI63)
Even the cockpit looks as if it merges with the gas tank, and also only has a tiny speedometer and buttons for the lights. Then for the front, visible on the motorcycle mounted a LED rounded headlight that looks modern in harmony with its new fairing.

While at the rear, the stern of this motorcycle appeared in the café racer style which is made like the wasp's tail and it can be pulled-back as access to the electrical system and USB port.
This futuristic custom BMW R NineT of Zillers Garage is kept the 1,170cc boxer intact but added a custom pie-cut exhaust. (Picture from: https://yhoo.it/38icI63)
Then for the legs, this motorcycle gets a pair of custom rims and air suspension devices. So that when it stopped or being displayed, the bodywork position can be set to be so low that it looks almost touching the ground.

In the engine sector, everything is still in standard condition with a 1,170cc engine which is capable of spitting out 110 horsepower, except for the use of a custom exhaust system with the muffler look sticking-out next to the rear wheels.
As for finishing, the motorcycle is given a silver metal color that gives a solid impression and there is a BMW emblem as its true identity. As a result, the BMW R NineT really changed form as if it were coming from the Mad-Max era. Here's another bike called Krugger BMW K 1600 NURB that (We thought) appeared in the similar style.

2Shot BMW R nineT wrapped in aluminum suits

BMW R nineT be the dream of every builder because this bike is very exclusive for custom-made. From the engine side and the performance, this bike has a value which is very cool. As well as the model, the German motorcycle manufacturer deliberately create a classic motorcycle, to remember the BMW's glory days in the '80s era.

But all the advantages it seemed would be a challenge for the builders, such as Stuart is currently living in Sydney, Australia. This work was born after he underwent a period of healing as a result of his accident.

"I had plenty of time to think about building this bike. First of all I have to buy and try it directly, but it turns out it is a misnomer," says 2Shot owner, Vaughan.

They decided to modify it and begin the work of the fuel tank. They throw away the original tank, and rebuild it so fairing with retro shapes can be applied.

From the fender to the tail also changed uniforms with the front of the motorcycle. The entire body is made of aluminum with the help of machines to form any curves.

The end result is pretty cool. With the bodywork like that, they obviously have to spend a lot of energy especially side effects are also very much.
But they believe, the boxer engine with a capacity of 1,170 cc of the motorcycle is still very strong. Although not differ by type of retro BMW engines, but modern technology is applied to the engine deems to be very functional.

Ferocious look of K-Speed Custom's R nineT Shadow Boxer

More recently we lost one of the most renowned Heavyweight Champions of the World. He called himself "The Greatest." The whole world knew him as "The Champ." Muhammad Ali’s technique and speed set him apart from all other fighters.

So what to do Muhammad Ali with the motorcycle world. Directly it is nothing to do, but the name of a custom motorcycle gave a little reminiscent of one of the exercise technique terms in the world of boxing, and also reminds us of the figure of legend.

K-Speed Customs which is one of the Bangkok-based renowned home modifications has managed to create a very impressive motorcycle called 'Shadow Boxer,' is a custom motorcycle came of a crossbreeding between the classic style of café racer with streetfighter and built on the BMW R nineT.

The company owner named Eak mentioning this muscular R nineT the Shadow Boxer moniker, as a fitting tribute to the late and great Muhammad Ali. It's powerfull looking the boxer engine that wears its name well.

Then what interested him to build R nineT? Eak said that he always wanted to work on a motorcycle with a unique platform and one of them is the BMW R nineT.

Eak got his powder coating list together and sent the cylinder heads, swing arm and triple tree out for treatment, before turning his attention to the rest of the bike. Eak decided to black out the front forks, swap out the original bars with CNC clip on units, and fab up some new side, custom made side panels.

The tank has been left unmodified, save for an awesome matte black paint job. Whilst waiting for the powder coated parts to come back, Eak got to work building a new rear subframe, to give the R nineT that awesome and aggressive riding position.

With the rear subframe in place, Eak added a custom saddle before turning his attention to the finishing touches. Firstly, the stock instrument cluster was scrapped in favor of Motogadget units; the stock headlamps were upgraded to LED lights, as were the tail lights and turn signals. The exhaust system was refined, and of course, the R nineT now wears Pirelli rubbers.
Up front, you’ll notice the awesome, handmade aluminum fairing. It’s a beautiful piece that took by Eak no less than three attempts to get right. And we’re glad he put the effort it in, because it really ties the whole build together, and gives the R nineT that ferocious streetfighter vibe.

It’s fair to say that it belongs right beside the Batmobile. On this bike is featuring some parts that look like the BMW motorcycles used during the 1970’s and 1980’s, like the fuel tank for example. So that’s the secret behind this vintage look.

On the other hand, when it comes to electronics, the Bavarian Fistfighter is equipped with modern essentials such as fuel pump, electronics box and battery. Here are several pictures of Bavarian Fistfighter. (All pictures taken from: http://adf.ly/1aEt0V)

This bike is completely covered with black paint except the logo on the fuel tank and exhaust pipe.
The Fuel tank was inspired by the ones made during the late 70s and early 80s.
This bike has a 1170 cc engine that can produce up to 110 horsepower.
The leather seat was inspired by the seats from the models made in the 1950’s.

And for the drivetrain, Bavarian Fistfighter is packed with the 1,170 cc boxer twin engine that can produce up to 110 hp. The builder left the engine completely naked in order to achieve the mighty look. As we said earlier, the bike is completely covered with black paint except the logo on the fuel tank and exhaust pipe.
The wheels are entirely new. They were made by the people from Rough Crafts and their look was inspired by BMW ‘snowflake’ rims so they fit perfectly into this design. This bike also features some custom-made and reliable 330 mm brake discs. Wheels are wrapped with Diablo Superbike slicks made by Pirelli Taiwan. Bottom line, this Bavarian Fistfighter is a classy and aggressive combination of the vintage BMW bikes and a modern day motorcycle. (Another Rough Crafts creations.)
