Triumph electric-powered motorcycle with all of its test results exceeding expectations

NEW e-Bike It is undeniable that currently electric-powered vehicles are developing very rapidly, this can be seen with many parties including the motorcycle manufacturing industry enlivened this trend, and one of them is Triumph Motorcycles, a British motorcycle manufacturer.

In the implementation of the Triumph TE-1 all-electric motorcycle development project, the British motorcycle manufacturer is collaborating with Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE), Integral Powertrain, Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) Departement at Warwick University, and also Innovate UK, where each party involved in this electrified motorcycle project has their respective roles and duties.
The Triumph TE-1 uses an electric motor capable of producing around 174 hp of power with acceleration performance from still to 100 kph just in 3.6 seconds, and 160 kph can be achieved in just 6.2 seconds. (Picture from: OtoBlitz)
For example, WAE was responsible for developing the batteries used by the TE-1, and yielded satisfactory results. According to the test results, the battery's recharging from an empty condition to 80% only takes about 20 minutes, and with a fully charged battery capacity, so that it is able to bring the Triumph TE-1 to explore up to 161 km.

Furthermore, this TE-1 electric motorcycle uses an electric motor capable of producing around 174 hp of power which is the result of a joint development between Triumph Motorcycles and Integral Powertrain. Then how about the performance? In terms of performance, the Triumph TE-1 can be said to be good, because to accelerate from rest to a speed of 100 kph it only takes 3.6 seconds, and 160 kph can be achieved in just 6.2 seconds. Unfortunately, until now the motorcycle maker has not announced yet what the maximum speed that can be achieved by the Triumph's electric motorbike.

Next to provide electrification expertise, and the critical vision to drive innovation from R&D to commercial impact, through modeling and simulation based on future market needs, that is what should be done by Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at Warwick University to support this electrified motorcycle project.

Meanwhile, Innovate UK, the government agency that promotes science and technology programmes expected to grow the UK economy, will support the partners and administer funds.

Now the development phase of the the 220kg weighted TE-1 electric motorcycle is officially over with all of its test results exceeding expectations and achieving some outstanding results, meeting all the goals of accelerating the development and innovation of electric motorcycles.

It also sets new standards for the sector as a whole, including battery and range performance. The expertise and capabilities that Triumph Motorcycles develops could pave the way for an electric future.

Project Triumph TE-1 is one part of our electric motorcycle strategy, focused on delivering what riders want and expect from their Triumph, which is the perfect balance of handling, performance and usability,” said Nick Bloor, CEO of Triumph Motorcycles.
Unfortunately, Triumph will not bring the Triumph TE-1 electric motorcycle to global market in the near future, but at least the presence of this electric motorcycle can be the company's initial step to enter the growing electric vehicle market and satisfy the curiosity of its enthusiasts as well.😢
